Based on the information and images from the articles, fill in the following chart about why New Orleans was so badly damaged compared to the other communities in the Gulf region.

Answers

Answer:

THIS IS THE ACTUAL ANSWER SO PUT IT IN YOUR OWN WORDS!

Explanation:

Reason 1: The failure of the levees allowed water to rush into the city. Engineers originally designed the levees to withstand a direct hit from a level three hurricane, but Katrina was a level four hurricane.

Reason 2: New Orleans is a city located below sea level. As a result, any water that made it through the damaged levee inundated the city and was held in place by the remaining levee walls.

Reason 3: New Orleans sits on the Gulf of Mexico coast and is directly between Lake Pontchartrain and the Mississippi River. So, once the levees failed, water rushed into the city, and within 24 hours of Katrina making landfall, 80 percent of New Orleans became flooded.

Low height from sea level and lack of barrier leads to great damage to New Orleans.

New Orleans was greatly damaged as compared to other communities in the Gulf region because of its low elevation and there is no natural defense in the way natural disasters such as storms etc. New Orleans is present at very low height from the sea level so the natural disasters can easily affected the New Orleans so we can conclude that lower elevation and lack of natural barrier causes more damage to New Orleans.

We are referring to the important Tahrik-e-Pakistan. This movement of the mid-1900s, when India was demanding its independence from the British government, united Pakistani people to demand the separation of its territory from India. That is when Muslim Pakistanis split and formed their own country. The All Indian Muslin League, a political party created in 1906, was the preamble of the Pakistan movement. How did European imperialism influence Asia? Low Chinese demand for European goods led British traders to deal in opium, creating addicts and triggering a war. Chinese merchants transported European goods from ports to the interior of China, strengthening the economies of Asia. European nations overthrew local leaders to establish a trade network, reducing the profits of the Chinese tea industry. Shipments of European silver flooded the Asian markets, devaluing local currencies and causing an economic depression.

Answers

Answer:

Low Chinese demand for European goods led British traders to deal in opium, creating addicts and triggering a war.

Explanation:

The Chinese had always restricted trade with Europe and were not interested in their goods.

However, when the British were willing to trade opium for silver, the Chinese were interested because silver was used in China for currency.

But, the Chinese began to become addicted to opium, leading the government to stop the trade, which caused the opium wars when the British were angry.

Was it a wise decision by the framers of the constitution to keep the nation united, or was it an unacceptable compromise even at the cost of the nation breaking up over the issue of slavery (as happened later during the Civil War (1861–1865)? Write a two-to-three paragraph response supporting your stand.

Answers

Answer:

I think the three-fifths compromise was a poor attempt to delay the inevitable. I think that it would have been better to address slavery sooner. I think it should have been adressed when the constituion and bill of rights were written. I understand that it would have been a divisive issue but if you claim that "All men are created equal" and then turn around and dehuminaze other people than it makes you a hypocrite becuase you cannot just pick and choose who is and who is not considered human.

The three-fifths compromise did not do anything for the rights of the slaves in fact it dehumanized them even more and caused the civil war to start even sooner. If they had at least counted everyone as a human not only would it have possibly delayed the war but there may have been a way to keep the plantation owerners happy by saying they would have to pay anyone who worked for them and could not abuse them. If the slaves were treated as an entire person then they would have gained the population needed for more representation. It would have also helped them get the freedom they desereved and possibly avoid the civil war. It would have also helped the southern economy to have a higher and eventually more educated population. One cause of the civil war was the signfict difference in the economies in the north versus the south.

How might political candidates use knowledge of perceptual regions to their advantage?

Answers

Answer:

Explanation:

People who want to become a Member of Parliament (MP) are known as a parliamentary candidate, or a prospective parliamentary candidate. They are usually chosen by a political party - groups of people with similar beliefs who come together to try to win power. A small number of candidates do not represent a party but stand alone as independents.

Political candidates can use knowledge of perceptual regions to their advantage by tailoring their messages and campaign strategies to resonate with the specific characteristics and concerns of different regions.

Candidates can create messages that directly address the needs and aspirations of these groups by having a thorough awareness of the distinctive identities and interests linked to different perceptual areas. This might be done by stressing policies that address regional issues, recognizing common values, or demonstrating individual ties to certain areas.

Candidates can also leverage regional endorsements or alliances to build credibility and support. By appealing to the distinct identities and perceptions of different regions, candidates can establish a stronger connection with voters, generate enthusiasm, and gain an advantage in building a broad and diverse base of support.

3 achievements/agreements between USSR and USA during detente

any answer gets brainiest

Answers

Answer:

The end of the arms race. The expansion of trade between the two nations. The signing of the agreement that ended the cold war.

Explanation:

Detente is a term used to refer to the moments and agreements that allow a loosening in the political or economic tensions that is occurring between two countries or more. A more evident example of this term is the easing of the tension that the cold war created between the USA and the USSR.

As you may already know, the cold war period was marked by an ideological conflict between the USA and the USSR, where the two nations that were military powers (having the same nuclear power) faced each other indirectly, since a direct conflict between the two would be disastrous. In this conflict the detente can be seen when both countries agreed to end the arms race, establish trade agreements between the two and sign a deal that ended the cold war.

In a short paragraph, describe the triangular trade system that linked Africa, Europe, and the
Americas during the Age of Exploration. Then, in a second paragraph, explain one effect this
system had on each of the three regions that participated in it. (4 points)

Answers

Answer:

Explanation:

The Triangular Trade was between the Americas, Europe, and Africa. Raw materials were sent to Europe from America. Man made products and other made items were sold to Africa from Europe. Europeans in Africa sold slaves and sent them to Americas.

Europe gained raw materials for the development of mercantilism.

Africa gained man made products and such from Europe.

The americas gained free labor from the slaves.

Triangular trade or triangle trade is trade between three ports or regions between Africa, Europe, and the America.

What was Triangular trade?

The Americas, Europe, and Africa participated in the Triangular Trade. America sent raw commodities to Europe. From Europe, manufactured goods and other manufactured commodities were exported to Africa. Slaves were sold by Europeans in Africa and sent to the Americas.

America transported products and foods such as sugar, tobacco, and cotton to Europe. Europe would provide Africa with textiles and manufacturing items. Africa would also send slaves to America. Essentially, so that the slaves could labor in America. Which effectively makes the trading system triangular and everyone functioning together.

This had a significant impact on the system because they were all interdependent. This also meant that circulation would be disrupted if one of the triangle's segments failed.

Europe obtained raw resources for the growth of mercantilism. Europe provided Africa with manufactured goods and other items. The slaves provided the Americans with free labor.

The event that the author is describing was created by Stalin’s government. Can this type of event happen today? Why or why not?

Answers

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Unfortunately, the question is incomplete. It does not provide any information about the event it is referring to. Joseph Stain did many controversial things throughout his leadership as a ruler of the Soviet Union. So we do not what specific event it is referring to, or the name of the author.

However, we can comment on one of those controversial events. It was Berlin's Blockade of 1948 when Joseph Stalin ordered the blockade of Berlin. The Russian troops blockade all the roads to West Berlin, including the navigation. That is why the Allied Forces decide to send supplies to West Germany through the air, in what was known as the Berlin Airlift to send food, supplies, and medicines.

Of course, this type of event cannot happen today due to many international legislation and agreements.
