which reason best explains the development of U.S. political parties during 1790s?
Answer:
I’ll be glad to answer this the best I can :D
Explanation:
During the early 1790’s, the newly founded republic of the United States of America, was just starting out, and it was our Founding Father’s philosophical ideas of democracy, freedom, and limited government that helped mold our country.
However, each of the Founding Father’s though had their own vision of how the U.S.A should be lead. It was because of this difference that many of the Founding Father’s turned on each other and formed their own ‘parties’; each party with its own policy and ideology. The two biggest politcal parties during this specific year were the Federalist Party (founded by Alexander Hamilton) and the Democratic-Republican Party (founded by Thomas Jefferson. Also known as Anti-federalists).
The difference between the two is this. The Federalists believed in a strong central government, and that the states had to come together under this centralized government in order to survive.
The Democratic-Republican party believed in a small and limited government, in which the states had more freedoms and rights than the federal government. These Democrat-Republicans believed that having a strong central government would lead to tyranny and too much authoritarian power from the federal government and believed laws, regulations, and freedoms should best be left alone at the state level.
It was not long after when in 1828 that the Federalist Party and its members formed what we know as the modern Democratic Party (founded by Andrew Jackson primarily).
Meanwhile on the other hand the Democratic-Republican party eventually grew weaker in influence as time when on. It was then these members whom belived in limited government, self-freedom, and libertarianism eventually much later on in 1854 formed what we know as the modern Republican Party (founded primarily by Horace Greeley).
