Can You Please Help Me With My Homework

Answers

Answer 1

Answer:

you have #5 correct and that is how I would do it.

you could also figure out the number of flowers and put 6 in each vase.

7x12= 84

84/6= 14.

I still think your way is best.

Answer 2
So...the way you did it you probably flipped the fraction and multiplied by the reciprocal.

You COULD have done it in the complete opposite way... instead of turning 1/2 into 2/1...do 1/7 instead of 7/1. This would get you to 1/14 and if you flip that, you get 14/1.

The polygons are similar, but not necessarily drawn to scale. Find the value of x.

Answers

16/12 = (x-1)/6
x-1 = 4/3 . 6
x = 24/3 + 1 = 9

32/24 = (y+1)/21
y+1 = 4/3 . 21
y = 84/3 - 1 = 25

The value of x is given from proportion and x = 9

What is Proportion?

The proportion formula is used to depict if two ratios or fractions are equal. The proportion formula can be given as a: b::c : d = a/b = c/d where a and d are the extreme terms and b and c are the mean terms.

The proportional equation is given as y ∝ x

And , y = kx where k is the proportionality constant

It demonstrates the equality of the relationship between the expressions printed on the left and right sides.

Given data ,

Let the first polygon and second polygon be similar

So , the ratio of their corresponding sides will also be similar

Substituting the values in the equation , we get

( x -1 ) / 6 = 16 / 12   be equation (1)

On simplifying the equation , we get

Multiply by 6 on both sides of the equation , we get

( x - 1 ) = ( 16 x 6 ) / 12

( x - 1 ) = 16 / 2

On simplifying the equation , we get

x - 1 = 8

Adding 1 on both sides of the equation , we get

x = 9

And ,

( y + 1 ) / 21 = 32 / 24   be equation (2)

On simplifying the equation , we get

Multiply by 21 on both sides of the equation , we get

( y + 1 ) = ( 4 x 21 ) / 3

y + 1 = 4 x 7

y + 1 = 28

Subtracting 1 on both sides of the equation , we get

y = 27

Hence , the value of x is 9

Ramon earns $1,725 each month and pays $53.70 on electricity. To the nearest tenth of a percent, what percent of Ramon's earnings are spent on electricity each month?

Answers

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Remark

The formula you use is (Electricity / Total Income ) * 100

The ratio becomes 53.7/1725  * 100%

The ratio is 53.7/1725 * 100 = 0.03113 * 100

The % = 0.03113 * 100 = 3.113

To the closest tenth that is 3.1%

Given f(x)=2x^3+kx-9f(x)=2x 3 +kx−9, and the remainder when f(x) is divided by x−2 is 23, then what is the value of k?

Answers

Given:

The function is

[tex]f(x)=2x^3+kx-9[/tex]

The remainder when f(x) is divided by x−2 is 23.

To find:

The value of k.

Solution:

According to the remainder theorem, if a polynomial P(x) is divided by (x-c), then the remainder is P(c).

It is given that, the remainder when f(x) is divided by x−2 is 23. By using remainder theorem, we get

[tex]f(2)=23[/tex]       ...(i)

Put x=2, to find the value of f(2).

[tex]f(2)=2(2)^3+k(2)-9[/tex]

[tex]f(2)=2(8)+2k-9[/tex]

[tex]f(2)=16+2k-9[/tex]

[tex]f(2)=2k+7[/tex]          ...(ii)

Using (i) and (ii), we get

[tex]2k+7=23[/tex]

[tex]2k=23-7[/tex]

[tex]k=\dfrac{16}{2}[/tex]

[tex]k=8[/tex]

Therefore, the value of k is 8.

Find the y-intercept of each line defined below and compare their values

Answers

Answer:

They are 8 units apart, and the y-intercept of line A is above the x-axis by 6 units, and line B is below the x-axis by 2 units

Step-by-step explanation:

Remember your y-intercept has an x value of zero, so line B has a y intercept of (0,-2)

now let's find b in the original equation so

y - 8 = -2x - 2 so y = -2x -2 + 8, so y = -2x + 6

So line A has a y-intercept of (0,6)

They are 8 units apart, and the y-intercept of line A is above the x-axis by 6 units, and line B is below the x-axis by 2 units

The length of a side of a square is (6x + 6) km. Find the area of the square in terms of the variable x.

Answers

Answer:

36(x + 1)^2 = 0 or 36x^2 + 72x + 36

Step-by-step explanation:

s^2 = area of a square

(6x + 6) (6x + 6)

6x*6x = 36x^2

6x*6 = 36x

6*6x = 36x

6*6 = 36

36x^2 + 36x + 36x + 36

36x^2 + 72x + 36
