Andrew Johnson's plan and actions during Reconstruction were widely criticized by the Radical Republicans, and later most of Congress, Johnson
clashed with Congress over most of its proposals to reconstruct the South, emboldening Southerners determined to restore their dominance over
blacks and maintain a low-cost work force by any means necessary
Riots in Memphis C and New Orleans C, spurred by prejudice, vengeance, and a desire to prevent blacks from exercising their freedoms and
rights, epitomized what many saw as a situation spiraling out of control in the South. Thomas Nast, a famed political cartoonist and staunch
Radical Republican, published this caricature outlining Johnson's stance on Reconstruction in an effort to draw attention to the stark
similarities-for blacks-between slavery and Reconstruction
Examine the cartoon and read the annotation. Then respond with a brief essay giving your personal reaction to Johnson's approach to
Reconstruction Present at least three specific points in your analysis.
Answer:
Johnson's approach to Reconstruction favored the white population of the South and blacks were denied civil rights.
Explanation:
President Andrew Johnson introduced a reconstruction policy that puts the Southern white's in a comfortable position in controlling the transformation process from slavery to emancipation. This plan made it difficult for former slaves to play a part in the politics of the South. Blacks have been rejected any role in the process. Johnson also directed almost all the property in the occupation of the government restored to its pre-war owners, thrashing black expectations for economic independence.Answer:
Blacks were denied civil rights due to Johnson's Reconstruction strategy, which favored the region's white majority. Reconstruction policies put Southern whites in a comfortable position to govern the transition from slavery to emancipation, according to President Andrew Johnson. Former slaves found it challenging to participate in South Carolina politics as a result of this scheme. Blacks have been excluded from participating in any capacity. Johnson also ordered that practically all of the property under government control be returned to its original owners before the war, crushing black hopes for economic independence.

What did the passage of the Chinese Exclusion Act reflect about American society in the late 1800s
Answer:
The effect that Nativism had on American immigration policy
Explanation:
President Chester A. Arthur signed the Chinese Exclusion act in 1882. This was motivated by the fact that there was an influx of Chinese immigrants into the United States. These immigrants, mostly males provided cheap labor in the United States. It was the first law that prohibited people from a particular ethnic group from coming into the U.S.
The law was only for immigrant Chinese laborers because teachers, students, and other categories of people who were not laborers could still come into the United States. That law was a reflection of the nativism so inherent in the American Immigration policy. The Magnuson Act of 1943, was to later repeal the Exclusion Act.

Quoting Pearson World History:
The Hundred Years' War brought many changes to the late medieval world. The longbow and cannon gave common soldiers a new importance on the battlefield and undermined the value of armored knights on horseback. Although neither nobles nor commoners knew it then, feudal society was changing and medieval Europe was coming to an end. Knights and castles were doomed to disappear. Strong monarchs needed large armies, not feudal vassals, to fight their wars.

Is Jesus Christ Real and why ? Please answer in all seriousness...
Yes Jesus is real. He died on the cross to save you and me from our sin. Jesus is not dead he is alive. Yes he did die on the cross but he rose again on the third day!! This alone is proof because no man can be resurrected.
Common question:
If God created the universe who created God?
The truth is God is omnipotent omniscient and omnipresent. This essentially means that he is all-powerful, all-knowing, and is everywhere at the same time. SO basically he was always there. No one created God HE is the creator and you are the perfect creation.
How does God not have a place of origin?
Alright..... So lets use numbers as an example. Numbers exist right? But when does it end? If Numbers dont have a place of origin then they do not exist, they are not real. However we know that numbers do exist and are real because we are constantly using numbers and we are constantly told that they are real and we believe it. So that is the same with God.... He has no origin and he has always existed but even though Im saying it something in you say its false and that is a seed of doubt thrown at you by the devil. YOU have to believe that is a step you must make on your own.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God." John 3:16-20

Which Washington city is a major financial center of the Pacific Northwest? A.Seattle B.Spokane C.Vancouver D.Yakima
Hey there! I'm happy to help!
There are a few answer options we can immediately remove here. Yakima is not a very large city, and neither is Spokane. It would not make much sense for them to be major financial centers because if they were they would have many tall buildings, a large population, etc.
Vancouver and Seattle are both big cities but Seattle has like triple the people and it has many famous headquarters like Starbucks. Seattle is known much more as a big city and it has many more tall buildings, so it would make sense that it is more of a financial center than Vancouver.
Therefore, the answer is A. Seattle.

Explanation:
An Unforgettable Moment of My LifeAs I entered the park, a voice came, "Don't look back, otherwise. He has not completed the sentence when it occurred to me that I have run into an armed robber. I could not look back but I was having a cold feeling of a gun on my scalp. I became very jittery at that spot. The robber ordered that I release all the valuables on me. While I was being reluctant and he was dealing mercilessly with me, the cops appeared. The whole park was filled with police officers that he had no means of escape.
He was arrested and taken to the police station. After a few months, I heard he had been given a jail term. That day was a day I can never forget because the fear of a riffle made me forget everything about my existence.
Answer:
Title: The Near Miss
As I entered the park, a voice came, "Don't look back, otherwise..."
Upon hearing those words, I froze. Somewhere deep down, I struggled with the notion of taking off in the direction that I had just come from, but there was no telling if the owner of the voice was armed. There was no way of knowing if he could hurt me. Yes, it was the voice of a man. That was unmistakable. As my mind continued to contemplate and permutate, I heard leaves rustling and twigs breaking underneath his feet as he started towards me. I don't know how my mind calculated this but from the sounds of his steps, I somehow knew he was heavily built. Or at least I imagined. My mind was on hyper-alert with millions of iterations going on in my skull per second. Adrenaline. My heart was also pumping rapidly. It had gone from circulating about 80 milliliters of blood per second to about 120 mililiters.
From the sound of his footsteps, I could judge that he was now halfway between where he was and where I stood. transfixed like one of the sculpted works of Michael Angelo. Do I dash forward? further into the park? I didn't know how athletic he was, besides, he had almost gotten to me now. That was a no-no. I wasn't armed. Even if I had, in my state of mind, I wouldn't have been able to use it.
I had woken up that morning feeling like I needed to take a walk and I did. It was a path I was familiar with. I had not in my wildest didn't anticipate this at all. Would he defile me? or rob me? what exactly was going in his mind?
My thoughts were rudely interrupted when he reached out, touched my shoulder and called me name: Laura! In that split second, my mind had calculated the odds of escape. The fact that he touched me with one of his hands and that he knew my name meant he knew who I was.
With one of his hands out of the way, that means there was less risk of him immobilising me I turned swiftly screaming on top of my lungs at the same time and with a burst of speed, dash towards the route I had taken into the park.
As I turned, I caught his face from my peripheral view. I couldn't make out who he was. But I could tell that he was taken aback by my reaction. He didn't anticipate it at all.
Seeing that pushed more adrenaline into my system. I knew that I was in a precarious situation. This person knew me he planned to do something very bad.
I kept running and running. Initially, I heard steps behind me and my trepidation heightened. I was not sure if he would catch up. What if I didn't make it back to "civilisation" on time? I was running as fast as my legs could go but it felt like I was running with an extra 25 kilograms on both legs.
Finally, I saw one or two other hikers. I was relieved somewhat. At least, I was no longer alone. But I continued running. I pushed until I got to the police post just at the entrance of the path which led into the park.
Thankfully one of the officers was around. He helped me calm down. He offered a cup of water which I gulped down in 5 times faster than I would if I was calm.
After about 5 minutes, the adrenaline was beginning to wear out. I was still in shock but I could talk. So I recounted my experience and immediately, the county cop radioed the information to other cops in the area who went into the woods immediately just to ensure the safety of other hikers.
After taking my statement, the cop offered to drive me home. I could have walked but I was too shaken and still slightly afraid to go home alone.
He dropped me at my doorstep and zoomed off after he was certain that I was okay. As I open my front door, something dropped to the floor. Upon closer observation, it was a piece of paper and on it was written the words "That was a Near Miss Laura". Underneath that note was a smiley looking very weird.
The trepidation returned.

D. people relying on religious leaders to explain the workings of the universe.
People relied on religious leaders to explain the workings of the universe was more likely to occur before the scientific revolution than after. Thus, option D is correct.
The only information that humans had about the cosmos was contained in their religious texts. Many people couldn't read, so they requested their religious leaders to assist them in understanding what was written in the books.
Additionally, for more than 200 years prior to the scientific revolution, people held the view that religion was the center of the universe. The 16th and 17th centuries saw a radical shift in scientific ideas, which is known as the Scientific Revolution. It took the place of the Greek conception of nature, which had ruled science for over two thousand years.
A sequence of quick scientific developments that took place in Western Europe is known as the scientific revolution. It began for a number of reasons: the emergence of humanism and empiricism, new discoveries that either improved how scientists view things.
