Compare and contrast the difference between the treatment of African Americans and Japanese Americans during the war. (2 of each)

Answers

Answer 1

Answer:

Explanation:

The experience of African and Japanese Americans during World War 2 were similar in that they all included racism and discrimination by both whites and the government. Also, while Japanese Americans were interned in prison camps, African and Mexican Americans often faced violence in the forms of riots and attacks. However, all three groups also got opportunities to prove themselves and their skills in the US army, in the field of production, and through various other wartime opportunities.

You are a Republican Senator (probably Henry Cabot Lodge) who opposed 1 point
the Treaty of Versailles. Which of the following was a major reason why you
opposed this important treaty? *
It did not include the League of Nations
It did not include reparations to be paid by Germany
It did not include a war guilt clause
none of the above

Answers

Answer:

none of the above

Explanation:

The answer is none of the above because the reason why Henry Cabot Lodge (the Republican Senator you would be personifying) opposed the Treaty of Versailles was that it created the Leage of Nationis.

Cabot believed that such a treaty was a very serious threat against national sovereignty, and he crusaded in Congress for the disapproval of the treaty on that basis. He was successful in doing so, and the United States never became a part of the Leage of Nations.

What is Spanish War?

Spain and the United States engaged in combat during the Spanish-American War. After the USS Maine's internal explosion in Cuba's Havana Harbor, hostilities broke out, prompting American involvement in the Cuban War of Independence.

The conflict culminated in the United States becoming the dominating nation in the Caribbean and in the conquest of Spanish territory in the Pacific. It prompted American participation in the Philippine Revolution, which ultimately sparked the Philippine-American War.

The Spanish Empire clearly declined during the 19th century, while the United States transitioned from being a young nation to a medium-sized regional power. Cuba had been seeing uprisings against Spanish colonial control for a while.

“Day of Infamy” Speech (WW2)

Just hours after hearing about the bombing of Pearl Harbor, President Roosevelt dictated the words he would say to Congress the very next day. After all, he was asking the nation to prepare for war. He confidently spoke the following words:

“Yesterday, December 7, 1941—a date which will live in infamy—the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan. . . .
No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory. I believe that I interpret the will of the Congress and of the people when I assert that we will not only defend ourselves to the uttermost but will make it very certain that this form of treachery shall never again endanger us.
Hostilities exist. There is no blinking at the fact that our people, our territory, and our interests are in grave danger.
With confidence in our armed forces—with the unbounding determination of our people—we will gain the inevitable triumph, so help us God.
I ask that the Congress declare that since the unprovoked and dastardly attack by Japan on Sunday, December 7, 1941, a state of war has existed between the United States and the Japanese Empire.”

—President Franklin Roosevelt, December 8, 1941
in a speech requesting Congress for a declaration of war against Japan.

Dear parent ,

It feels like I've been here for years , I'm still adapting to the lifestyle here which is very hard ; It's crowded there's many soldiers, and the food doesn't fill me up on good days we have soup and I sometimes sneak the bread into my uniform for whenever I get hungry . The land is enormous I'm currently writing to y'all underneath a big tree with a nice shade , the trench is big and is very crowded we sometimes have to walk by are sides so we can make a turn . The uniform aren't the most comfortable or the warmest . The nights very cold . Some of my buddies have gotten some infections from the bombs of mustards that are thrown at us when we least expect them and since we don't have any first aid kits or the correct hygiene some soldiers had died from infections . What makes it worse we've recently have been having rats and insects I overcame my fear for rats . When they attack I still get terrified and wonder who and how many people are going to die , it gets very loud ; you can even hear some of the soldiers screaming in pain it also gets very bloody and messy. There's a land called No Mans Land and everyone fear to be sent to cross the land because hundreds bodies lay their because they were caught trying to cross the land . The trench after all gave me an opportunity to meet some of the cooliest guys out here I have 2 bestfriends named Joseph and Mario , we like to hand out underneath the tree and read mail while we eat some bread. I can't wait to be reunited and be home I miss you guys so much may God and this war be over soon and make it out safe and alive . I love you mom and dad .
