Superhero 101: A Dog's Day

Trace was still thinking about the conversation with his grandmother when he stopped so abruptly that Liam literally collided with him. “Hey, what gives?” Liam asked. “You were this close to wearing my ice cream in your hair. Why’d you stop?”

Tia and Blade had continued walking, but now they were headed back toward their friends to find out why they had stopped. Blade immediately noticed Trace’s countenance and followed his gaze. She was the most intuitive and observant of the group. Suddenly, she gasped.

“What is wrong with you two?” Liam, who was more interested in saving his ice cream than saving the world, asked before they had a chance to explain.

Trace spoke in hushed tones, “Look, over there. It’s Casper. He’s supposed to be in prison. What is he doing at the pet store?”

Liam and Tia looked toward the pet store as the four friends dodged into an alleyway, trying not to look too conspicuous. Casper was obviously in disguise himself with his dyed brown hair and beard. The last thing the group needed was for Casper to realize that he had been spotted by his nemesis. The last time he and Trace had met, Trace and his friends had thwarted Casper's plot to create a deadly toxin designed to help him take over the world. That was three months ago, and now it looked like he had somehow escaped from prison and was up to something equally menacing and ominous.

Casper was leaving the pet store and getting into a car, so the friends hurried to their car. They followed him to an abandoned pet-food manufacturing plant at the edge of town. Once Casper ducked inside, the four friends did the same but were soon confronted by an angry pack of dogs. Trace motioned for his friends to come close to him as he created a shield around them. He remembered the time when Tia had used her superpower to make the group invisible. They had been running from Casper and his henchmen. “Tia, make us invisible!” Trace shouted.

However, the friends’ scent wasn’t invisible, and the dogs could not be deterred. The dogs followed the friends as they made their way to where Casper appeared to be manufacturing something that smelled awful.
Read the sentence from "Superhero 101: A Dog's Day."

"What is wrong with you two?" Liam, who was more interested in saving his ice cream than saving the world, asked before they had a chance to explain.

How does this sentence characterize Liam?

It shows that Liam's superpowers have not kicked in yet.

It shows that Liam is the funny, quirky one of the group.

It shows that Liam is not a superhero but is just friends with the superheroes.

It shows that Liam is not as sensitive as the others in the group.

Answers

Answer: The answer is "It shows that Liam is not as sensitive as the others in the group."

Explanation:

The person below me or above me is wrong. On the test it is marked wrong

The sentence that characterizes Liam:

D). It shows that Liam is not as sensitive as the others in the group.

"Superhero 101: A Dog's Day"

The last sentence most successfully conveys the traits possessed by Liam because he lacks thoughtfulness and consciousness.

The details demonstrate that the other members belonging to his group had a sense of sensitivity while Liam lacked that level of sympathy and tactfulness.

Thus, option D is the correct answer.

Why did the author choose to use the word "glory" in the phrase "The glory was his face"? Please don’t answer just for points.

Maybe like happiness? Or that he has in honor for his hair maybe. I’m not positive though
The golden hair made the other knights seem glorious. With the character looking different from others his glory came from his face which was distinct from other characters

Explanation:

While hurricanes are known as typhoons and cyclones in different parts of the world, they are all the same type of storm. These tropical cyclones all form the same way. They form above warm ocean waters near the equator and use warm, moist air as fuel. This fuel allows them to continue to grow and rotate at faster speeds until they hit land. Once they hit land, they usually slow down because they no longer have the warm, moist air to fuel them. Although they slow down, they still move at speeds that allow them to cause great damage.

Hurricane Irma is a recent storm that touched down in the United States, forming from a tropical wave in the Atlantic Ocean. This wave lead to rain showers and thunderstorms, and eventually, the showers and thunderstorms became organized into a system. This created a low pressure area, allowing a hurricane to form. Hurricane Irma continued to grow as it moved across the ocean. By the time it hit the Caribbean, it was a Category 4 hurricane. It continued to change in size and speed. Finally, it touched down in Florida as a Category 4 hurricane before gradually weakening in power and dying in Missouri.
Hurricanes are a severe weather occurrence. Some hurricanes stay small, while others become more powerful until they touch down on land and start to lose power. However, hurricanes can still be catastrophic once they make landfall. Because scientists have learned so much about how hurricanes form, they are able to monitor them and warn people to take precautions if a hurricane hits in their area.

Based on the information in the text, why is it important for scientists to inform the public about the category of a hurricane that is going to hit a specific area?
Question 1 options:

Scientists can warn the public about how powerful the hurricane will be and how much damage it may cause, which allows people to prepare.

Scientists need to warn the public about the category so that the people from the area it hits can compare it to other hurricanes they have experienced.

Scientists travel to different sites of hurricanes and want to inform the people from the area that they are collecting information about the hurricane.

Scientists collect information about each category of hurricane and want to learn about the effects of the hurricane from the people in the community.

Mami didn’t know any better, and I had yet to learn not everything I heard was true, so we reacted in what was to become a pattern for us: what frightened her I became curious about, and what she found exciting terrified me. FREE BRAINLIST NEED HELP ASAP Revise this to make it more persuasive and formalMany cities and towns have community gardens--places the city council sets aside for people to rent garden space and plant a few veggies or flowers. The question, though, is whether they are totally useless or not. To evaluate this, it is important to look at how much time and how much money are needed to set the garden up, what it takes to maintain the gardens, and whether people use them and benefit from them. When you look at the big picture, community gardens in most large cities are awesome. However, as someone who visits the community garden in my small town every now and then, let me tell you, it is pricey, dicey, and seedy but not in a good way, a real waste of space.Usually, city gardens need to be built from scratch. That means cities must buy and haul in all the materials for the garden beds. If these are raised beds. They must buy bricks or lumber. Sometimes organizers of community gardens will get lucky. Someone will donate materials to them. They still must have it moved on-site, though. Also, many community gardens require loads and loads of dirt and fertilizer, plus, an irrigation system. It takes a lot to make a garden from zilch. The costs can far outweigh the benefits in small communities. Larger cities can make this work. They have more options for materials. They also have more people using the completed garden. The next important thing to look at is how the community keeps up the garden. Often community gardens require their renters to spend a certain amount of time weeding and watering the garden. While this might sound good in theory, my experience is that people rarely follow through. They usually start out doing a bang-up job in the spring during planting time, but then their lives get more and more swamped, so they disregard this commitment. If a city is large enough to have someone on site. Maintenance is not as big of a deal. However, in my small community garden, no one is ever around. In fact, weeds are the reigning vegetable growing in our community garden. This makes our town's community garden a waste of time. Thanks, Weirdo12345 The California Mussel ( Mytilus californianus ) is the natural prey of the shore crab ( Carcinus maenas ).
