Evaluate the following statement by agreeing or disagreeing and defending your view:

“Helping people beyond one’s own nation is an important part of being an active American citizen within one’s own community.”

Answers

Answer:

I agree with this statement because when you help outside the nation, it helps the U.S know how to deal with causes like the one you are supporting ,so I agree with this statement. This was my response. I'll put Sample response below. Hope this Helps!

Explanation:

Responses will vary. A sample response follows: Agree: the active American citizen should realize that one of America’s central values is helping people around the world. Therefore, active American citizens should be focused on helping both their communities and people around the world. After all, our world is getting smaller. We can no longer consider other nations as other worlds -- we are connected to them politically and economically. Moreover, helping other nations is easy because there are international organizations such as the American Red Cross that make volunteering simple. Disagree: while active citizenship may include helping people in other countries, the primary responsibilities of an active citizen are their immediate community, local, state, and national affairs. After all, a citizen is not a citizen of the world, but rather a nation. There are plenty of people suffering within American borders and that should be the focus of active American citizens.

I concur with your remark since helping abroad teaches the United States how to handle issues similar to the one you are supporting. This was my reply.

What do you know about  American citizenship?

There are several ways to become a citizen of the United States, including birth here, birth overseas to a parent who is a citizen here, or through the naturalization procedure.

A particular set of legal prerequisites must be satisfied for each of these processes. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services states that the processing period for naturalization (citizenship) is typically nine months (USCIS). Before becoming citizens, candidates must complete a number of stages while the government processes their application for naturalization.

An Indian applicant needs to fulfill the requirements listed below in order to apply for American citizenship. A minimum age of 18 is required for applicants.

write an argumentative essay on topic which say medical doctor are more important than farmere

Answers

Answer:

Do you believe farmers are more important than Doctors? Well, If you do not believe you should. Farmers plant trees and grow fruits whilst Doctors work in hospital to save lives. Nonetheless they are both doing the same job.

Firstly, It is believable to say that there are farmers everywhere in the world and there are also Doctors everywhere in the world but why should they both be compared and what do they have in common?

Farmers as we all know grow trees and plant and these trees take in Carbon dioxide (CO2) which reduces the carbon foot prints for us humans in the world. Carbon dioxide is produce by cars and it's agreeable to say that there are millions of cars in this world, meaning there are a lot of CO2 being produced daily, monthly year which is endangering our lives more and more.

If you look at farmers from another perspective, they are saving us, the environments and our surroundings; they are playing a role to protect us and by these farmers are growing crops as well for us to eat and grow. So it is right to say that farmers and kind of doctors because a life without trees in the world would be a 'poisonous life' for us and our next generations to come.

Doctors on the other hands we need them in our lives to make sure we are healthy and to treat us when we are not healthy. Without doctors a lot of people will be dead and there will not be 7.6 billion people in the world but about half that amount. Without doctors there will be more tears in the world (more people will be crying and morning due to their relative dying), there will be more fighting(people will be going through extreme length and measures to get drugs to heal themselves and others around them) which could involve killing, bombing and so on. So to conclude Doctors are essential to our life and that is an unchangeable fact. Period!

Finally, With all due respect to doctors, Farmers are playing a stronger roll although it does not seem so when compared to doctors. The trees farmers’ plant helps the whole world and everyone benefits from it and when farmers do harvest, we all benefit from the food which helps us nourish our bodies. Doctors do help our lives so we should be grateful to them but they are not available all the time (24/7). On the other hand cars will always be used around the world and new & faster cars which will be produced (more Carbon dioxide) and the trees will always be there to 'soak' in and absorb the C02 which helps us, daily monthly, yearly. It's also important for us (humans) to remember that when trees are burnt they are used as 'fuels' because we are running out of fossil fuels and this helps to keep our generations going.

Monasteries in the Early Middle Ages Select one: a. served as centers of learning. b. played a major role in local politics and government. c. set an example of innovative agricultural practices. d. supplied much of the food for kings' armies and administrations. e. All these answers are correct.

Answers

Answer:

All the answers are correct.

Explanation:

A monastery is a building or an assembly of buildings that serves to house a group or community of men or women, often called monks or nuns, who have withdrawn from the world to live a religious life.

In the Middle Ages, monasteries were often intellectual and economic centers. Thus, the monasteries controlled the writing of books (since the monks were the only ones who at that time had the ability to read and write, as well as the time to write by hand the different books that were released), with which they also controlled what society was going to learn and what would remain in the dark, since it was not in the interests of the Church.

This, in turn, gave the monasteries ample political weight, since the main rulers of the time linked with religious leaders to obtain legitimacy through this ideological diffusion.

But, in addition, monasteries controlled large tracts of land. These were usually used for the cultivation and agricultural production, with which the monasteries had a very strong economic role, being on many occasions suppliers of raw materials for the kings and rulers themselves.

Imagine you are a farmer living in the hills of ancient Greece. Your brother-in-law, a fisherman who lives on the coast, has just come to visit, and the two of you sit down to talk about your lives and work. Write down what you, as a farmer, might talk about, such as your crops and farm animals. Then write what your brother-in-law might tell you about his experiences as a fisherman. Be sure to mention the weather and climate and how they affect your work and his. Then, talk about the city-states in which you both live. Explain how geography may have influenced the region to develop separate city-states instead of one government that unifies all the people.

Life as a farmer: It was hard if you didn't have enough land. You had to wake up every morning and take care of the crops. It was hard, especially when diseases spread to animals because there wasn't enough food.  If someone does or doesn't buy your products you had to pack up everything because of bugs and bees. I farmed a lot in the summer because when it's winter it's freezing cold, the fields are covered with snow and ice. I had to farm a lot in the summer time, if I didn't farm enough my bussiness would be as bad.

Life as a fisherman: Life, was based of mother nature. It was hard to catch fishes unless you had something to feed them. Sometimes i would be able to sell more fish than usual, it all depends on how much I catch, but I have to spend it on my boats (and the thing you catch a fish with). Sometimes the sharks would eat the fishes so they'd be not a lot of fishes in the sea. Sometimes I'd pray that there's a lot of fishes in the sea so I can catch a good amount and sell them. When it was winter I couldn't fish properly, BUT I was able to make little holes to fish in, which was a bit hard because I couldn't see much.

*(15points!!)* write a short paragraph explaining if you would have been for or against U.S. expansion during this period 19th early 20th century

Answers

Answer:

In my opinion, I would be for the U.S. expansion. With the expansion comes opportunities for new jobs, farming, new trading routes, and overall a chance at a new life. Although it is inaccurate to say that I would be in need of a job considering that I did not live at the same, I would assume that those in need of farm land and work would appreciate the movement. If I were a rich man living in the city during the time of expansion, I would still agree with the expansion. Because of the amount of people in search of a job in the city, the streets were crowded, work places were filled to the top, and people were desperate for work. The expansion allows for these people to move and find new work somewhere else that does not interfere with my work. However, we can not overlook the horrible things that came with this movement such as slavery, the deaths of many people, and the basic fact that it was unconstitutional. In perspective, this question could differ depending on the person. I would have been against the expansion if I were an Indian whose home was taken and whose family was being killed by the travelers.
