Explanation:
If the water is more dense then any other water in the deep ocean, it will sink all the way to the sea floor. The water then flows past Antarctica and into the Pacific and Indian Oceans. Here, some of the deep waters are warmed and so rise again to the surface.
Most companies that contribute to pollution do not do it because they are run by bad people. They do it because emitting pollution into the air or water is cheaper than treating and cleaning the materials they use in production. When production is cheaper, the price of goods is cheaper and the company is more competitive relative to other companies. To limit or eliminate this pollution, government has enacted laws, such as the Clean Air Act and the Clean Water Act, to make polluting illegal. Do you think it is government’s job to use laws to control these negative externalities? Why or why not? What, if any, private sector, nongovernmental measures might work just as well? Use examples in your answer.
The correct answer to this open question is the following.
I think it is the government’s job to use laws to control these negative externalities but it is also the job of those company owners to have high ethical conduct and high morals to know that they are polluting the air and the water. So they had to be the first to have the initiative to come with a solution or a good plan to minimize air and water pollution, because one way or the other, they are poisoning the air and our waters.
Private sector and nongovernmental measures might work just as well if people have the consciousness of the damage they are doing with their policies.
What I am trying to say is that the federal and state government could have great environmental laws and regulations, but that is why they are laws, to be enforced. The issue is that, if company owners would be ethical and professional people, from the very beginning they should have implemented the right measures to minimize pollution, and not waiting until the law enforce them to comply with legislation.
ONe thing is to be forced to do something, knowing that there will be negative consequences if you do not do what you are told. And another completely different thing is to do things because you have principles, high values, and morals that always invite you to do things right.

Stock Y has a beta of 1.0 and an expected return of 12.4 percent. Stock Z has a beta of 6
and an expected return of 8.2 percent.
What would the risk-free rate have to be for the two stocks to be correctly priced? (Do
not round intermediate calculations and enter your answer as a percent rounded to 2
decimal places, e.g., 32.16.)
Answer: Risk free rate = 1.9%
Explanation:
The Capital Asset Pricing Model allows for the calculation of the required return using the market return, beta and risk free rate.
Required return = Risk free rate + Beta * ( Market return - Risk free rate)
First find the market rate. Stock Y is uniquely positioned to help with that:
12.4% = Risk free rate + 1.0 * (Market return - Risk free rate)
12.4% = rf + Market return - rf
Market return = 12.4%
Apply this to the formula using Stock Z:
8.2% = rf + 0.6 * (12.4% - rf)
8.2% = rf + 7.44% - 0.6rf
rf - 0.6rf = 8.2% - 7.44%
0.4rf = 0.76%
rf = 0.76% / 0.4
Risk free rate = 1.9%

Uranium-235 has a half-life of 700 million years. How many years will it take Uranium-235 to decay to 1/8 of its original mass?
Answer: 2.1 billion years
Explanation:
The half-life of an element refers to the amount of time it would take for half of its mass to decay.
In 700 million years, Uranium - 235 will be 1/2 of its original mass.
If divided by 2, the 1/2 becomes 1/4 which is the proportion of the original mass the Uranium would get to after another 700 million years.
Dividing by another would get the Uranium-235 to 1/8 of its original value and would take another 700 million years.
Total time taken:
= 700 + 700 + 700
= 2,100 million years
= 2.1 billion years

Explain how humans communicate nonverbally. How do genders differ in terms of nonverbal communication?
Answer:
Non-verbal communication is one in which people use communicative means other than language, that is, they do not use the word and its meaning to convey a message, but rather through gestures, body expressions, movements, looks, images, etc., that is, appealing to the human senses without using language as a communication channel.
In principle, there are no major differences in how each gender communicates non-verbally with each other or with the other, except in matters of love attraction, where clothing, postures and looks play a fundamental role.
