Your goal as a game designer is to create a Chinese version of the operation game, which helps English and Chinese language learners to learn some medical words through the game. To propose this idea to your company, you need to build a prototype as the presentation during the product meeting.

Today, you are going to write an design report for your prototype. You will search for the rules for the game and how will you fit it in yours, what materials you will use for your prototype and how will you use both English and Chinese in the game with the words you learned in class before.

So I'm not going to do this assignment for you, but it's very interesting and I have some ideas. So the current operation game doesn't have any medically accurate pieces in it. That would be the first thing you would change.  There are also cards that you draw to see what operation you will perform, and then you get the money listed on the card if you are able to successfully perform the operation.  I'm thinking we can utilize these cards sort of like flashcards.  There could be a side for English learners and a side for Chinese learners.  Perhaps there could also be different levels of game play depending on whether you are just starting out or have been studying for a while.

One side of the card would be in English, and the other in Chinese with the characters and romanization. Whichever language you are learning, you place all of the cards in a stack with that side face up. Try to read the card and then choose the body part that you think is correct in the game. Check your choice by flipping the card over to your native language. If you got it correct, you receive the money, but if not, you have to put it back.  Whoever has the most money by the end of the game wins.  

The materials I used for my version are basically the same as the original game, except for the changes I mentioned.  You may want to think about this more and go into additional detail as far as what the game would look like, and which body parts you would use.  Will he game be more anatomically correct compared with the original? Do you still want to incorporate the aspect of having the warning go off when you touch the sides, or do you want to create a different indicator that relates more to the learning aspect?  Maybe you could add voice recordings of someone pronouncing the words and they can press a button after the attempted surgery to hear if they got it correct.

There are so many possibilities with this one. Have fun with it!
