HELP!!! How has Jonas's community taken the idea of sameness to the next level?
An Indian anthropologist, Chandra Thapar, made a study of foreign cultures which had customs similar to those of his native land. One culture in particular fascinated him because it reveres one animal as sacred, much as the people in India revere the cow. The tribe Dr. Thapar studied is called the Asu and is found on the North American continent north of the Tarahumara of Mexico. Though it seems to be a highly developed society of its type, it has an overwhelming preoccupation with the care and feeding of the rac - an animal much like a bull in size, strength and temperament. In the Asu tribe, it is almost a social obligation to own at least one if not more racs. Anyone not possessing at least one is held in low esteem by the community because he is too poor to maintain one of the beasts properly. Some members of the tribe, to display their wealth and prestige, even own herds of racs. Unfortunately the rac breed is not very healthy and usually does not live more than five to seven years. Each family invests large sums of money each year to keep its rac healthy and shod, for it has a tendency to throw its shoes often. There are rac specialists in each community, perhaps more than one if the community is particularly wealthy. These specialists, however due to the long period of ritual training they must undergo and to the difficulty of obtaining the right selection of charms to treat the rac, demand costly offerings whenever a tribesman must treat his ailing rac. At the age of sixteen in many Asu communities, many youths undergo a puberty rite in which the rac figures prominently. The youth must petition a high priest in a grand temple. He is then initiated into the ceremonies that surround the care of the rac and is permitted to keep a rac. Although the rac may be used as a beast of burden, it has many habits which would be considered by other cultures as detrimental to the life of the society. In the first place the rac breed is increasing at a very rapid rate and the Asu tribesmen have given no thought to curbin

Item 2 Both "Thank You, M'am" and "The Strangers That Came to Town" are stories that deal with forgiveness.
Answer:
O . In "Thank You, M'am," rather calling the police, Mrs. Jones welcomes Roger in her home. In "The Strangers That Came to Town," Mr. Duvitch is grateful for the boys' actions and apology.
Explanation:
Langston Hughes's "Thank You, Ma'am" revolves around the story or a young boy trying to steal a woman's purse but was caught. Instead of berating the young boy and giving him punishment, the woman cleaned him and gave him food, later on giving him money.
Likewise, Ambrose Flack's "The Strangers That Came to Town" is about an immigrant family and their unfortunate interaction with their next-door neighbors.
Both short stories deal with themes of forgiveness. While Hughes' story shows forgiveness in Mrs' Jones’s act of calling Roger home, the forgiveness of Mr. Duvitch for the boys' mistake is the main theme in the story.
Thus, the correct answer is the first option.

Answer and Explanation:
Dr. Goddard was extremely influenced and inspired by the readings of literary works of science fiction, especially those written by H. G. Wells, known as "The War of the World." This type of reading stimulated his imagination and curiosity about what was possible to do with the use of science.
He was also influenced by analyzing the sky and thinking about how wonderful it would be, if a machine was able to allow human beings to analyze the sky up close, being able to see everything that compose it and all the space above it.

2.Would a kicker be as effective if it were in the middle of the news broadcast? Explain your answer.
3. Pacing is an important part of any news broadcast, but it does not always work as planned. Why might a news broadcast have to change its pacing? How would this impact the rest of the news?
4.Why would a news broadcast use a reader instead of a live shot? Give an example of a story that would be better suited for a reader in your answer.
5.What is the advantage of using a package instead of a live broadcast?
Answer:
1. Yes, I do believe that people who read newspapers watch local news. I think that local news might be more appealing to some people, because sometimes it's easier to get your point across just by talking to someone.
2. I do think a kicker would be as effective because your audience is paying more attention. It won't warm your audience up as much, but they'll be paying attention more. If you put a kicker in the middle, it can also break up the monotony.

Do you think that sending a pro-euthanasia essay as a writing sample for an Honors English application to a catholic school will make them reject me for Honors English? I got full marks for it and it is my best writing. It represents my opinion, and I don't know if the English teacher is catholic.
Answer:
There is a high possibility of rejection there.
Explanation:
Euthanasia is basically the "humane" version of killing a person or animal, and most types of christianity do not support murder/killing someone else. Catholicism is known to be one of the weirder and more hypocritical sects of christianity, as well. So, even though catholics historically did kill, they probably would not be okay with this. going by what friends and family have said about their time at catholic schools/churches(as well as what happened in history with the catholic church), you definitely are not allowed to have much of an opinion there as you are in other churches. You can take the chance, but I would definitely try to find out the English Teacher's view first.
