Answer 1

Answer:

u can get it read this.but this is better:-

Though past Egyptologists held that it was merely the queen's ambition that drove her, more recent scholars have suggested that the move might have been due to a political crisis, such as a threat from another branch of the royal family, and that Hatshepsut may have been acting to save the throne for her stepson.

Explanation:

Hatshepsut, daughter of King Thutmose I, became queen of Egypt when she married her half-brother, Thutmose II, around the age of 12. Upon his death, she began acting as regent for her stepson, the infant Thutmose III, but later took on the full powers of a pharaoh, becoming co-ruler of Egypt around 1473 B.C. As pharaoh, Hatshepsut extended Egyptian trade and oversaw ambitious building projects, most notably the Temple of Deir el-Bahri, located in western Thebes, where she would be buried. Depicted (at her own orders) as a male in many contemporary images and sculptures, Hatshepsut remained largely unknown to scholars until the 19th century. She is one of the few and most famous female pharaohs of Egypt.

Hatshepsut’s Rise to Power

Hatshepsut was the elder of two daughters born to Thutmose I and his queen, Ahmes. After her father’s death, 12-year-old Hatshepsut became queen of Egypt when she married her half-brother Thutmose II, the son of her father and one of his secondary wives, who inherited his father’s throne around 1492 B.C. They had one daughter, Neferure. Thutmose II died young, around 1479 B.C., and the throne went to his infant son, also born to a secondary wife. According to custom, Hatshepsut began acting as Thutmose III’s regent, handling affairs of state until her stepson came of age.

Did you know? Hatshepsut was only the third woman to become pharaoh in 3,000 years of ancient Egyptian history, and the first to attain the full power of the position. Cleopatra, who also exercised such power, would rule some 14 centuries later.

After less than seven years, however, Hatshepsut took the unprecedented step of assuming the title and full powers of a pharaoh herself, becoming co-ruler of Egypt with Thutmose III. Though past Egyptologists held that it was merely the queen’s ambition that drove her, more recent scholars have suggested that the move might have been due to a political crisis, such as a threat from another branch of the royal family, and that Hatshepsut may have been acting to save the throne for her stepson.

Hatshepsut as Pharaoh

Knowing that her power grab was highly controversial, Hatshepsut fought to defend its legitimacy, pointing to her royal lineage and claiming that her father had appointed her his successor. She sought to reinvent her image, and in statues and paintings of that time, she ordered that she be portrayed as a male pharaoh, with a beard and large muscles. In other images, however, she appeared in traditional female regalia. Hatshepsut surrounded herself with supporters in key positions in government, including Senenmut, her chief minister. Some have suggested Senenmut might also have been Hatshepsut’s lover, but little evidence exists to support this claim.

As pharaoh, Hatshepsut undertook ambitious building projects, particularly in the area around Thebes. Her greatest achievement was the enormous memorial temple at Deir el-Bahri, considered one of the architectural wonders of ancient Egypt. Another great achievement of her reign was a trading expedition she authorized that brought back vast riches–including ivory, ebony, gold, leopard skins and incense–to Egypt from a distant land known as Punt (possibly modern-day Eritrea).

Hatshepsut’s Death and Legacy

Hatshepsut probably died around 1458 B.C., when she would have been in her mid-40s. She was buried in the Valley of the Kings (also home to Tutankhhamum), located in the hills behind Deir el-Bahri. In another effort to legitimize her reign, she had her father’s sarcophagus reburied in her tomb so they could lie together in death. Thutmose III went on to rule for 30 more years, proving to be both an ambitious builder like his stepmother and a great warrior. Late in his reign, Thutmose III had almost all of the evidence of Hatshepsut’s rule–including the images of her as king on the temples and monuments she had built–eradicated, possibly to erase her example as a powerful female ruler, or to close the gap in the dynasty’s line of male succession. As a consequence, scholars of ancient Egypt knew little of Hatshepsut’s existence until 1822, when they were able to decode and read the hieroglyphics on the walls of Deir el-Bahri....to be continued

Values that you think are common in American culture. Describe each value and where you think the value comes from, and explain why the value is important to Americans.

Answers

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

I think the values that are common in American culture are the following.

I think the most important one is freedom. Freedom is one of the better-known characteristics of the United States around the world. "The land of the free," as it is said in the US National Hymn. This means so much for the American people and can be considered as a foundation of the country.

Another value is competition. American people are very competitive in many areas. And this can be shown in sports, for instance. American Olympic team always finish in the first or second place in the Olympic games in total medals, and gold medals. This value came from the first American colonies and the need to compete to survive.

Other values are perseverance and hard work to be wealthy. The goal that every American aspires for. Through hard work, US citizens know that they can be rich if they commit themselves to hard work and perseverance.

I love being with my mum and cuddle her. Also, I enjoy being with other elephants. Some of them are my age, and we play in the water, or we make funny noises to each other to show how happy we are. When the days are hot, I enjoy throwing sand or dust on my body to protect it from the sun.

It is pretty quiet where I live. Some days I see these animals with longs tails that eat a lot of bananas and hang from the trees. Other days I see some striped black and white animals. They look so nice with their strips. The thing that I enjoy the most is when I see humans. Humans are so happy when they see us. Besides, I love their shape so much. Every time I see a human, I go towards him or her and touch their head with my trunk. They are adorable creatures. Even more, they always have delicious food that they give me while they pet me. I love being with humans!

Explanation:

In this description of the world through an animal, we can see how an elephant sees its world. Elephants enjoy being in groups, being with their mother when they are young, and playing in the water. They also make noises to communicate with other elephants or to express themselves.

The exciting event described is when they see humans. Elephants love humans when they see one. The reaction is of cuteness and happiness, which is the same reaction we have when we see one of these animals.

Unfortunately, you forgot to include the name of the story or the name of the book.

How do we know what are you talking about?

We had to do some deep research in order to help you and can comment on the following.

In the description of the setting in lines 24-26, what the special wind suggests about the locations of the two armies is that the sound of the wind -or at least is why the boy thinks it is- is, in reality, the sound of the armies that are marching and getting closer. The fact that the boy can hear the sounds so close means the armies' camps are very close to each other.

And regarding the mood, the above-mentioned descriptions help to create a mood of tension, even anxiety for the things that are about to happen in the story.

We are talking about the story of "The Drummer Boy of Shiloh." The story of John Lincoln Clem (1851-1937), who was the drummer boy during the American Civil War for the Union Army.

Madison, who was born on March 16, 1751, in Virginia, was one of the most influential of all the Founding Fathers. He was a driving force behind the Constitutional Convention of 1787 and presented the first version of the Bill of Rights to Congress. Madison graduated one year before Burr. The men were in rival debating societies at Princeton. Madison graduated in 1771; his roommate was poet Philip Freneau. After serving in the House for eight years, Madison walked away from national politics in March 1797 and returned to his estate at Montpelier. But Madison, along with his mentor, Thomas Jefferson, had formed an opposition party to the Federalists, and in 1798 Madison wrote the Virginia Resolution (in opposition to the Alien and Sedition Acts) during his time off.

And more often than not, the response is, No, where are you from, really? or Hmm, you dont look like a typical Wyoming person. Over the years, I am not sure of the response I am supposed to give, and usually, I just reply with, Well, there are some brown people there. But what is a typical Wyoming person? When I think of Wyomings political identity, I know it is easy to make some quick judgments about its identity in general. Wyoming is 90 percent white. Wyoming is 0.8 percent Asian American. Wyoming is largely Republican. And conservative. I think weve all heard the drill before. And yet, Wyoming was the first state to have a woman governor, and in the case of my mother, they were the first state to elect someone to serve in a state legislature who was born in India. In 1994, when my mom was elected, again, she had no Indians in her district. When she first ran, even I was a little doubtful that shed win. She wore saris often. She has an accent. But she went door to door and talked to almost every house in her district. She campaigned on issues that were important to Wyoming peopleand to her. And she won. After that, my feelings about Wyoming changedas before I thought of the state as a little backward when it came to matters of diversity. I was only 19, and had just left Wyoming to go to college. I realized then that while your physical identity is something that people cant help but take in, Wyoming people vote for people that have something to offer. Wyoming acknowledges ability and competence.Wyoming has always been a state that has drawn immigrants to its open spaces. From pioneers from back East to Europeans, Latin Americans, and Asians. And Wyoming has always had an Asian population. As my friend who is a Wyoming historian told me, there were Chinese rail and mine workers, Japanese rail workers and beet farmers, and of course Heart Mountain brought in an influx of Japanese people. Today, many motels across the state are run by Indians from India. Here in Laramie, walking across the University of Wyoming campus, you can hear bits of other languages being spoken, the Indian students play cricket in Prexys pasture, and the students who I teach, while largely from Wyoming, have a curiosity about other cultures and peoples that is genuine and true.Since that day in 1994, I have always voted in Wyoming, and feel strongly about positions from school board to our senators. But that said, when I look at the Wyoming legislature, its hard to see much diversity representing the state. Out of the 90 legislators in the Senate and House, only five are of color. I know that number probably makes sense in a state where again, the population is more than 90 percent white.People always talk about how so many young people leave the state once they graduate from high school. Many look to cities for more excitement, for a different experience. I think the same can be said of many minorities and people of color. Why live here when you can be somewhere with more diversity and with those cultural connections? I get that. But if Wyoming is going to be a more diverse place, people have to choose to live here. And I know I fall into that camp. I choose to live here because I cant imagine anywhere else. I love the mountains. I love the posture of a lodgepole pine. I love the way the sun looks in the bright blue sky on a day that is minus 30 degrees. I love the quiet of the snow. I love the space. The author most likely chose to introduce her argument by way of a personal anecdote in order to?A.share the perspective of someone usually regarded as a typical Wyoming residentB.share the perspective of someone usually regarded as a typical Wyoming residentC.invite the audience to empathize with the difficulties she faced growing up in WyomingD.invite the audience to empathize with the difficulties she faced growing up in WyomingE.Cchallenge her audiences assumptions about Wyoming residentschallenge her audiences assumptions about Wyoming residentsCavoid having to incorporate historical and statistical data into her argumentavoid having to incorporate historical and statistical data into her argumentDdisclose events that might have made her unintentionally biased
