Question 6
A causal speech format is virtually identical to a problem-cause-solution format.
True
False

Answers

Answer:

True.

Explanation:

Text structure can be defined as words used to describe how a writer or an author organizes his or her words in a literary work.

A causal speech format is a type of speech in which the speaker uses a cause and effect relationship to express his ideas or communicate with the audience. Thus, it's a speech that comprises of two (2) main points: cause of a problem and the effect of the problem.

On the other hand, a problem-cause-solution format is a type of speech which involves describing a problem, identifying the probable cause of the problem and lastly proffering a solution to the problem.

In view of the above definitions, we can infer or deduce that a causal speech format is virtually identical to a problem-cause-solution format because in both organizational structure, the speaker highlights or identifies the cause of a problem.

have a great day

Answer:

in and out, objectively

Explanation:

There are three catagories overall which make a solid fast food chain:

- Food quality

- Employee satisfaction

- Menu

So lets look through all three catagories:

Food Quality

In and out has been slow to expand towards the central United States, primarily due to difficulties in the supply lines. In and Out has a policy of not freezing, pre packaging, or microwaving their food, whether that be their potatos, or their meat. This has had a positive effect on their food quality, as customers consistantly express satisfaction with the quality of the ingredients. This is more than likely the primary advantage In and Out has over many other fast food restaurants, which cut corners by freezing, pre packaging, microwaving, etc.

Employee Satisfaction

It's difficult for a Fast Food chain to serve quality food if the people serving it aren't happy. In and Out recognizes this as well, and consequentially ensures that their employees are satisfied. At least in my home state of California, where the majority of locations are, In and Out has a starting salary of just over $15, with managers and owners of well performing locations able to make over 100k every year. This has lead to In and Out maintaining one of the highest rates of employee retention in the entire fast food industry. Strong employee retention results in a more experienced workforce, which furthur improves both the quality of the food and the efficency with which the food is made.

Menu

Upon initial inspection, In and Out's comparitively small menu of 9 items (only 4 food items) may seem like a drawback, not a benefit. Even factoring in the "secret" menu, it doesn't quite compare to the sheer size of the menus of giants like McDonalds or Taco Bell. However, it's important to remember that the size of the menu doesn't matter after the order is placed; no matter how many items are on the menu, you'll only get the ones you ordered. More often than not, the vast majority of people have the exact same order almost every time they enter a fast food establishment. If this is the case, then why bother complicating the menu with items nobody even orders? For example. the Big Mac is the second most popular order at McDonalds, with 70 million orders in 2018, only falling behind french fries. However, comparing the frequency of Big Mac orders to other burger orders, we begin to see order numbers drop at a logarithmic rate. This means that the 6-7 most ordered items make up to 70% of the profit. In and Out takes this idea to its logical extreme, by cutting its menu as short as it can, and perfecting the food it makes.

A. Exclamatory
B. Optative
C. Declarative
D. Imperative

Answers

Answer:

C. Declarative.

Explanation:

A declarative sentence is one that simply states or declares an opinion. In other words, a declarative sentence is one that expresses a statement or an opinion.

The given sentence "I wake up by eight every day" is a declarative sentence. It expresses the simple statement or a declaration of the speaker that he/she wakes up by 8 every day.

It is not an exclamatory sentence as it doesn't exclaim anything nor does it contain the exclamatory mark (!).

Again, it is not an optative sentence as it doesn't express a desire or an opinion.

Also, it is not an imperative sentence as it does not demand or express a command.

Thus, the correct answer is option C.

How has the culture of inequality evolved over the years? Has it really evolved or have we accepted inequality as a cultural norm?

Answers

Answer:

Explanation:

Inequality has, and always will be a cultural problem that we will never get rid of, but it has changed. I mean look at voting rights, public rights. Black and white peoplecan get married, and be in the same place now. Women can vote. Gay marriage is becoming legal. There will still always be a large group of people that don't agree with this, and there will still be black people in the world, or LGBTQ+ people and no one can change that. Our worl will never truly be peaceful, but we can still do things to make it less aggresive.

Answers

The correct answer is D. Paradox.

Explanation

A paradox is a term to refer to an idea logically contradictory or opposed to the general consideration of what is considered true. According to the above, the fragment is a paradox because the author refers to the boat as a "home". In addition, he expresses "Other places seem so crowded and suffocating, but a raft does not", which could be considered a logically contradictory idea because a raft is very small or suffocating in size. So the correct answer is D. Paradox.

Hid heaven and earth from view.

The creatures chuckled on the roofs

And whistled in the air,

How fast was the number of computers in a home increasing? 100 points please hurry A Speech to the Student Body of Evergreen High[1] Picture this: It's Spring Break, and you fly off to some country where there's lush rainforests and beautiful, blue coastlines to explore. There's also people in need, so you decide to blend your vacation with volunteering. Volunteering as a tourist, or voluntourism, seems like a great way to explore new regions and help people at the same time. However, this "volunteer plus travel" experience can actually harm local communities. While many teens might view traveling and volunteering abroad as a worthwhile adventure, there are more genuine and effective ways to make a difference.[2] Most would agree that volunteering in general is a worthy use of time. However, what if you found out the children you are "helping" are actually being kept in poor conditions so voluntourists will spend money to come to the local area? Dale Rolfe, a supporter of ethical voluntourism, explains the shocking reality that "Animal sanctuaries and orphanages are often manufactured for the voluntourist...encouraging a cycle of exploiting the very animals and children the volunteers are trying to help."[3] Proponents of the "volunteer plus travel" experience also argue that traveling to new places builds character and is a valuable way to learn about different cultures. With voluntourism, however, participants often pursue experiences that are all about them. For example, they sign up to build a school for a gold star on their resume, but they have no real building skills and take jobs away from local construction workers (Schulten). Or, they arrive to teach English but instead take selfies with the locals. One world traveler and ethical voluntourist believes voluntourism "can perpetuate small minded views of the world by taking insulated, fake, and structured experiences and selling them as unabridged and eye opening" (Carlos). The voluntour experience is a mirage. The voluntourist's eyes are not opened to real life at the destination, and lasting change is not achieved.[4] If you want a genuine experience where you can see a lasting impact, there are better options than voluntourism. You can volunteer in your local community. Give an hour every week to your town's animal rescue. Serve monthly dinners to the homeless. Be a reliable, positive influence on a child who needs a mentor. Studies show that volunteering and forming lasting relationships with those you help has a positive impact on your physical and emotional health. In fact, blood pressure is reduced, memory is improved, and rates of depression are reduced (Michaels).[5] There is another reason to look into alternatives to voluntourism. Did you know the average "voluntour" travel package costs $3,400 (Rolfe)? Could that travel money be better spent? If the world's citizens are your passion, it could go to an international organization. If you care about education, your funds can be used to buy books for students in faraway lands. If you want villagers to have clean water, contribute funds to local efforts to dig wells. If you want to experience a different culture, travel to the country as a guest, and learn from the locals how you can best help them after you've returned home. But do not voluntour.[6] In reality, there are better ways to make a difference. Voluntourism might appear to be an adventure that blends travel and helping others, but it does little except provide a costly, superficial experience that might actually do more harm than good. So, volunteer where you are most needed-at home, where you can stay to see the job through and form genuine, lasting relationships. Choose a beautiful coastline closer to home and send the travel money you saved to an international organization that will put it to good use. Whatever you do, don't turn someone else's hardship into your vacation. In a paragraph of 6-8 sentences, identify what each text emphasizes and explain how that emphasis supports the claim of each argument.
