In Prince Rama's quest, Sugriva asked Rama to help him regain his kingdom from his brother Bali who forcefully took the kingdom from him and his wife, and in return he will help Rama in his quest. Notice that the narration doesn’t directly describe the moment of Louise Mallard’s death. Instead, the story skips ahead and describes her husband arriving home to find that his wife has passed away. What effect does this narrative technique have on the story?

Answers

Answer:

Upon learning of the death of her husband in "The Story of an Hour," Louise is initially overcome with emotion, and she cries violently. In her upstairs room, Louise recognizes that she is free from Brently's suffocating presence and society's oppressive conventions, which fills her with a sense of joy and hope of a better future. Louise is then overcome with despair when she discovers that Brently is alive and that her future as an independent woman is completely shattered.

Explanation:

Answer:

This narrative technique adds a tinge of irony to the story. The story ends with a reverse version of its beginning. The narrative skip in time also creates an element of surprise, because the reader doesn’t expect Louise to be dead or her husband to be alive. Moreover, it reflects the fleeting, fickle nature of time and reality. This sudden revelation also represents characteristics of realism. Like other realist works, the story does not have a sentimental or idealized ending. Instead, the reader is left thinking that there are no guarantees in real life, appearances can be deceptive, and nothing lasts forever.

Luna When the clouds retreat to unveil the palest moon, I only see you. Melody The nightingale sings after the worship bells chime. I think of your voice. Cold When fireflies glow, the night glitters and shivers I miss your warmth more. 5 How do the graphical elements in "Melody" differ than those in "Luna" and "Cold"? A. It does not use an introductory phrase. B. It has a different meter and rhythm than the others. C. Its punctuation splits the poem into two complete thoughts. D. It has a shorter last line than the others.

Answers

Answer:

The graphical elements differ in Melody because:

C. Its punctuation splits the poem into two complete thoughts.

Explanation:

The three poems have much in common. They all present a type of introductory sentence describing some natural phenomenon. That natural phenomenon leads the speaker to think of some aspect of the person to whom the poem was written - their appearance, their voice, their warmth.

The main difference between them is caused by the punctuation in "Melody". In the other two, "Luna" and "Cold", the sentences were joined to form a subordinate structure. The first sentences begin with the subordinating conjunction "when", and the second sentences come after a comma. The sentences are connected in such a way that one depends on the other. However, in Melody, we do not have the conjunction and the comma. The sentences are separated by a period, expressing two complete thoughts. For that reason, the best option to answer this question is letter C.

what is the main idea in dorothy wordsworth diary entry

Answers

Answer:

Fraternal affiliation played a pivotal role in Hartley’s understanding of his identity, his place in the world and the world itself. Dorothy’s letters from 1778 to 1798 likewise show that fraternal affection was instrumental in her early awareness of her developing selfhood. Dorothy was first separated from William at age six (when William was seven) following the death of their mother in March 1778, after which time she endured a peripatetic childhood: she was sent to live first with her mother’s second cousin, Elizabeth Threlkeld, at Halifax until May 1787, during which time her father died (in 1783) leaving the Wordsworth siblings orphans. Dorothy then spent a very unhappy eighteen months with her grandparents at Halifax and Penrith. Finally, in October 1788 she moved to live with her Uncle, William Cookson, at Forncett rectory near Norwich until February 1794. After Dorothy was sent to Halifax in 1778, William and Dorothy did not meet again for nine years, when they were reunited briefly in the summer of 1787. Apart from sporadic meetings during William’s school holidays, they were not reunited properly until 1794: sixteen years after their first separation, they temporarily set up home at Windy Brow, Keswick.1

pon receiving President Trump, I introduced myself and asked how he was doing and whether he had made a good trip. Then I invite you to hear about Munbai's story so that he can better understand, the importance of it and why it is a synonym for pride in the country. He gladly accepted when I started to speak:

"Munbai is an ancient city, dated to 250 BC when it was formed by an archipelago of seven islands ruled by the Silhara dynasty, one of the great names of Hinduism, until 1343. Due to its economic potential, it did not take long for it to attract the attention of European colonialism, which was invaded and controlled by the Portuguese between 1509 and 1668, when it was leased by the United Kingdom and annexed to the British East India Company, which consisted of major architectural works that allowed all the islands to be joined in a single territory.

Although the region had many projects aimed at engineering, it also had a strong agricultural capacity, being the center of cotton during the American civil war, which transformed the local economy and stabilized the market in a grandiose way. The economy improved even more after the opening of the Suez Canal in 1869, making Munbai the largest port in the Arabian Sea and making it possible for population growth and an admirable quality of life.

With the economy becoming more and more successful, munbai became one of the most influential urban centers in the region which gave strength to the beginning of policies that stabilized the independence movement, which allowed the region to grow without the command of Europeans. Independence was achieved in 1942, after much struggle and perseverance. Since then, the city has only grown, not only economically but also culturally, being the seat of Indian film production. "

Nepal is a multiethnic, multilingual, multi-religious and multicultural country. The last census 2011 revealed that there are 123 languages and 125 castes and ethnic groups (CBS, 2014).However, Lewis (2009) and Yonjan-Tamang (2005) claim that there are 144 languages are spoken within the territory of Nepal (as cited in Rai, Rai, Phyak & Rai, 2011). Although, languages are sources of knowledge and icon of identity, the majority of indigenous languages spoken in Nepal are endangered due to various reasons.

According to the last Census 2011(CBS, 2014), the total population of Nepal is 26.5 million with annual growth rate of 1.35per annum. There are 84.56 percent males and 51.43 percent females. The literacy rate of male and female are 75.1 and 57.4 percent respectively giving on average of 69.9 percent.

But when Janga Bahadur Rana seized the power through the Kot Massacre and became Prime Minister, English education was recognized as a hot cake. Janga Bahadur Rana maintained friendly relation with East India Company to remain his power. For this he signed a treaty with the East India Company. He resumed sending Nepalese youth in British army although it began after 1814-16 war between Nepal and East Indian Government. These youth were supposed to take eight years of formal education in English (Kerr, 1999). It played significant role in the spread of English language in Nepal.

The first post-secondary educational institution in Nepal was Trichandra College whichwas established in 1918. In this college, language of education was English. It’s purposed was to shelter students of Darbar School and to prevent them from going abroad (India). His underling purpose was to prevent Nepalese from getting radical ideas which could be by productive for them. Tri-Chandra College was affiliated to Patna University, India. It borrowed syllabus and assessment system fromthere; therefore, there was direct influence of British Indian system of education in Nepalese system too.

Rana rule ended in 1950, then, for the first time, Nepal’s government became interested in cultural unification. According to Rai et al. (2011) Panchayat government imposed their political goals through the slogan of ek bhasha, ek bhesh, ek dharma, ek desh (one language, one way of dress, one religion, one nation), which attempted to spread Nepali, Hinduism, and other symbols of nation throughout the country to create a unified national identity. Its goal was to assimilate people of different culture and linguistic background into a Nepali identity based on the cultural practices of elite, high-caste hill Hindus (Onta, 1996a, as cited in Weinberg 2013). In the Panchyat period, the role of English was changed from medium of instruction to a subject of study.

After the introduction of democracy, new educational policy of language was formed considering the recommendation of Nepal National Educational Planning Commission (NNEPC).The report of the NNEPC strongly supported Nepali as the medium of instruction for schooling, largely for purposes of national integration. The report advocated the use of Nepali language not only in classroom but also on playgrounds and in all spheres of life.

English language education policies, especially in developing countries like Nepal is, mostly based on political motives rather than academic one (Coleman, 2011). It is illustrated by ELT Survey of Nepal in 1983. Overall it aimed to study the ELT situation in Nepal. Regarding English language teaching it recommended that it is better to start from Grade 8. Despite its findings, the ELT Survey reveals strong socio-political pressure to start English from Grade 1. Finally, the survey team had to continue the exiting policy; that is, starting English in Grade 4.The Ministry of Education in 2005 via National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCFSE) states that Nepali, English, or both can be the medium of instruction for school level; however it also states that the ‘mother tongue’ will be the medium of instruction for elementary education (Grades 1 -3).In this era, different factors played in the spread of English language in Nepal. The first one is the establishment of Darbar School itself. The next is the recruitment and the retirement of the Nepalese British army. Similarly, when Janga Bahadur established friendly relationship with the East India Company, the British diplomats began to reside in Kathmandu.

Answer and Explanation:

Hello! Since you did not demand any certain type of poem, I wrote one in free verse (no rules for meter or rhymes). The theme I chose was "The Invisible Enemy". I used it as the title, but feel free to change it.

The invisible enemy

People looking out the windows

Watching, waiting

For tomorrow, for a cure, for help

People looking at their phones, their TV

Hoping for good news, expecting bad news

Some in fear, some in disbelief, some skeptical

People do not like to believe

That they are this weak

That the system is so flawed

That the rich get richer

While we lose jobs, while we cough and die

People do not like

To feel this impotent

To feel they are not gods

To acknowledge they are not gods…

What a painful feeling to see hundreds of thousands dying

Millions in desperate unemployment

Because of this little, insignificant

Invisible organism

And so we wait some more, wait some more
