Why does it make sense that Hydrogen and Helium would be the first elements to form in the Universe?

Answers

Answer:

Explanation:

It makes sense because Helium and Hydrogen only hold 1 and 2 subsequent protons/neutrons and electrons. When the Big Bang happened the entire universe was so hot that it was impossible for elements to form since it was impossible for electrons to stay bound to the atoms. After a few seconds the universe began to cool enough for electrons to bond to atoms and create different elements. Since Helium and Hydrogen have 1 and 2 electrons subsequently we can assume that they were the first elements to be created. Also they are the most abundant elements in the Universe which backs up this theory.

As you go farther from the nucleus, electrons at higher levels have more energy, and their energy increases by a fixed, discrete amount. Electrons can jump from a lower to the next higher energy level if they absorb this amount of energy.

Jay painted the inner four walls of a box. Then he put an ice block into it such that it did not touch the walls, but he couldn't do the same when he put water in that box. Why?

Answers

Answer:

Liquid takes the shape of container, so it will always touch the walls of the box in which you put it.

Explanation:

We know that a solid has a definite shape and a definite volume hence it occupies only its own volume in the box, it does not touch the walls of the box.

However, a liquid does not have a definite shape and volume. It occupies the volume of the box. Therefore, the liquid water must definitely touch the walls of the box.

It would be helpful if you could explain the process or do a few to show me how to do it. You don't need to do it all just one would help.
Thank you

1) So, the first step in finding the formula of a certain compound is to look at the periodic table and see what group they are in. The group they are in corresponds to their charge :
Group 1 has charges of 1+
Group 2 has 2+
Group 3 has 3+
Group 4 has +/-4
Group 5 has -3
Group 6 has -2
Group 7 has -1
Group 8 doesn’t form ions because they don’t react.

Do you notice a pattern? Group 4 is like the middle and both sides.

For example, lets look at the first question:
Na (Sodium) is in group 1. This means that its ions have a 1+ charge. And Cl (Chlorine) in in group 7, meaning it has a 1- charge.

2) In the next step we try to cancel out the charges by finding the lowest common multiple. But, in this case, there is no need because 1+ and 1- cancel out to have an overall charge of 0 when they are in a compound.

3) Lastly, we put the two elements together. If we multiplied it to cancel the charges in the previous step, then we need to put the number we multiplied it by in front of it.

Lets do another example:

Magnesium is in group 2, therefore it forms a 2+ ion.
Oxygen is in group 6, therefore it forms a 2- ion.
Both charges cancel out and we are left with MgO.

The next example involved the 2nd step.

Lithium is in group 1, so it forms 1+ ions.
Oxygen is in group 6, so it forms 2- ions.

In order to cancel out the charges, we have to multiply lithium by to to get Li2 with a 2+ charge.

Now the charges cancel and we can put them together to get Li2O.

Hope this helped! If you have any more questions please ask :))

If an object has a Mass of 11g and a volume fo 13mil, what is its density?
A.143g/ml
B.0.85g/ml
C.2g/ml D.24g/ml

Answers

Answer:

[tex]\boxed {\boxed {\sf B. \ d \approx 0.85 \ g/mL}}[/tex]

Explanation:

Density is found by dividing the mass by the volume.

[tex]d=\frac{m}{v}[/tex]

The mass of the object is 11 grams and the volume is 13 milliliters.

[tex]m= 11 \ g \\v= 13 \ mL[/tex]

Substitute the values into the formula.

[tex]d= \frac{11 \ g}{13 \ mL}[/tex]

Divide.

[tex]d=0.846153846 \ g/mL[/tex]

Round to the nearest hundredth. The 6 in the thousandth place tells us to round the 4 to a 5.

[tex]d \approx 0.85 \ g/mL[/tex]

The density is about 0.85 grams per milliliter.

Answer:

1.07x10^24

Explanation:

thats the answer

Therefore, the number of mole will be 1.065 × [tex]10^{24}[/tex].

What is mole?

A mole is the quantity of a substance containing 6.023 x [tex]10^{23}[/tex] particles of that substance. The mole is really the SI unit for a substance's quantity.

It is given that, mass of 230 gram of CoCl2.

Moles = mass / molar mass

Put the value of given data in mole formula.

Moles = 230 / 129.8

Moles = 1.77

It is known that, 1 mole = 6.02 × [tex]10^{23}[/tex] molecule.

Hence, 177 moles =  6.02 × [tex]10^{23}[/tex] × 1.77 = 10.65 ×  [tex]10^{23}[/tex] .

Therefore, the number of mole will be 1.065 × [tex]10^{24}[/tex].

In solid materials, the atomic spacing is described by the bond lengths of its atoms. In ordered solids, the atomic spacing between two bonded atoms is generally around a few ångströms (Å), which is on the order of 10−10 meters.

The distance between atoms in a solid is not constant because different solids are made up of atoms of different sizes.

The distance between two bonded atoms in a solid is called bond length or bond distance. The bond length or bond distance of atoms in solids depends on the size of the atoms. The larger the size of the atoms, the larger the distance between them.

Since different solids have different atoms that compose them and these atoms have different sizes, the distance between atoms in a solid is not constant.

how much thermal energy does a cup of coffee have

Answers

Answer:

a lot that's why it's really hot

Temperature is related to the average kinetic energy of jostling molecules. It is measured using a thermometer in degrees Celsius, Fahrenheit, or Kelvin. Thermal energy refers to the total energy of all the jostling molecules in the coffee. Your friends' smaller cups of coffee will have less thermal energy than the larger pot of coffee because these smaller cups contain a fewer number of moving molecules. How much heat is transferred from coffee to your mouth depends on difference in temperature between the coffee and your mouth. Your coffee will seem hotter if your mouth is colder from drinking ice water.
