Given: G is the centroid of isosceles triangle AEC, AB = 6 units, and A F = 5 units.
What is the perimeter?

Answers

Answer:

32

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that G is the centroid of triangle AEC, the perimeter of triangle AEC is: A. 32 units

To understand how to derive the perimeter of [tex]\triangle AEC[/tex], recall the following related to centroid of a triangle in reference to the image in the attachment below:

Medians of a triangle (i.e. AE, CD, and FB) connects the vertices (i.e. A, B & C) of a triangle to the midpoints (i.e. F, D, & E) of the opposite sides of the triangle.

Centroid (i.e. O) is a point of concurrency of the triangle.

By implication, all sides the triangle (i.e. AC, AB, & BC) are divided into two equal segments (i.e. FA= CF, AD = BD, & CE = BE)

Also, note that:

Isosceles triangle have two equal sides (in triangle AEC given, EA = EC)

We're going to apply the above stated facts to solve the problem given since we are told that G is the centroid of the isosceles [tex]\triangle AEC[/tex]:

Thus:

G = centroid  (given)

AB = 6 units (given)

FA = 5 units (given)

EA = EC (equal sides of isosceles triangle)

Therefore:

EF = FA = 5 units

EA = EF + FA

Substitute

EA = 5 + 5

EA = 10 units

EC = EA (equal sides of isosceles)

EC = 10 units

AB = CB = 6 units

AC = AB + CB

Substitute

AC = 6 + 6

AC = 12 units

Perimeter of triangle AEC = AC + EA + EC

Substitute

Perimeter of triangle AEC = 12 + 10 + 10 = 32 units

Therefore, given that G is the centroid of triangle AEC, the perimeter of triangle AEC is: A. 32 units

If the length of a rectangle is decreased by 6 cm and the width is increased by 3 cm, the result will be a square, the area of which will be 27 cm^2 smaller than the area of the rectangle. Find the area of the rectangle.

Answers

Answer:

252 centimeters squared is the answer.

The area of the rectangle is 252 cm².

What is a rectangle?

A rectangle is a plane shape that has pair of opposite sides and angles equal

To calculate the area of a rectangle, we use the formula below.

Formula:

Area of a rectangle(A) = Length(L)×Width(W).............. Equation 1

⇒ Let the length of the rectangle be x and the width of the rectangle be y.

If the length is decreased by 6 cm

new length = (x-6) cm

And if the width is increased by 3 cm

new width = (y+3) cm

Since the new length and the new width form a square,

Note: In a square, all sides are equal

(x-6) = (y+3)x = y+9...................... Equation 2

Also, The area of the new square formed is smaller than the area of the rectangle by 27 cm²

xy = (y+3)²+27............ Equation 3

Substitute these values of x in equation 2 into equation 3

(y+9)(y) = (y+3)²+27y²+9y = y²+6y+9+27y²+9y = y²+6y+36

Collect like terms

y²-y²+9y-6y = 363y = 36y = 36/3y = 12 cm.

Substitute the value of y into equation 1 to get x

x = 12+9x = 21 cm.

Area of a rectangle = Length×width = 12×21 = 252 cm²

Hence, The area of the rectangle is 252 cm².

Do people who are the only child have more pets?

Would surveying only the people in your class give you enough information to answer this new question? Explain your reasoning.

Answers

Answer: t does sound logical that an only child may be more inclined to have a pet than children in larger families. However we haven’t located any statistics that support that thought.

Our own dad was a single child and did have a dog while growing up. Times were tough back in the those days 1920s to 1945 so he couldn’t have a lot of pets growing up. During WWll he adopted a dog on Siapan and smuggled her home on the ship with him when the war was over.

Growing up he always dreamed of raising dogs, but ended up raising three kids instead. The first born, a boy, loved cats but never had one of his own until he was grown up and had a place of his own. The reason he didn’t have a pet of his own as a child was because 4 years after he was born his twin sisters entered.

We hit the ground with an insatiable need to interact with animals of all kinds. Sure we had each other for companionship but some people are just born with a great need to converse with other species. From the time we entered the household all pets became ours.

As far as statistics go, they do find that families with children are more likely to have pets. It just doesn’t stipulate how many children are in the family.

One of the interesting finds though is that the percentage of childless families are increasing but pet ownership is continuing to grow as well.

Step-by-step explanation:

Answer:

Only children do have more pets because it's something to do. If your class has a mix of only children and people with siblings then you would have enough information.

A=24000(1+0.1)^2

A=24000(1.1)^2

A=24000*1.21

A=$29040

The simple interest is given as

A=24000(1+0.1*2)

A=24000(1.2)^2

A=24000*1.44

Solve for x and round to the nearest tenth

Answers

Answer:

x = 6.0

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Line AB is the hypotenuse

50.1 degrees is an angle

90 degrees is a right angle

Line CB is x and is opposite to the 50.1 degree angle

Line AC is 5 and is adjacent to the 50.1 degree angle

We know we have angles of 50.1 degrees and 90 degrees

We could find the third angle by doing 180 = 50.1 + 90 + a; a = 39.9 degrees

Sin(angle) = Opp/Hyp, Cosine(angle) = Adj/Hyp, Tan(angle) = Opp/Adj

We know the adjacent length, degree of angle, and are looking for the opposite side; therefore, we can use tan(angle) = opp/adj

tan(50.1) = x/5

x = 5.9979

or

tan(angle) = opp/adj

tan(39.9) = 5/x

x = 5.9979

in a circular garden the distance from the center of the circle to the edge is 15ft . If a gardner wants to plant roses in a 60 degrees sector of the circle , what is the area of the rose garden

Answers

Answer:

Approximately 117.81 ft²

Step-by-step explanation:

Find the area of the whole circle

A=πr²

A=π(15)²

A=706.86 ft²

Now you need to find the area of the garden covered in roses, so take the total degrees in a circle (360) and divide it by the degrees of the roses (60).

360/60=6

Take the area of the whole circle (706.86 ft²) and divide it by the number you just got (6). The number you get will be the area of the rose section.

706.86/6= 117.81 ft²

Using the Distance Formula
