The drastic impact of life in townships and modern lifestyles of people has drastically affected both our ecosystem and health.Write a letter in 120-150 words,to your father expressing your concerns about this issue and the changes required for an eco-friendly lifestyle for a better future

Answers

Answer 1

Dear Dad.

Due to the intense climatic changes and the intense interference and degradation that the human being promotes in nature, I have developed serious concerns about the future that awaits us as a result of all this.

Environmental imbalance is imminent and I am concerned about what it can cause. This is because we can experience a very uncomfortable life with limited food and water in the quantities we want, the loss of natural resources and the destruction of a pure and safe atmosphere where we can breathe normally. In addition, I have many concerns about endangered animals and plants. This is because in addition to plants being essential for life on the planet, they are responsible for countless resources that we use for our survival. Animals, on the other hand, I worry that they feel pain, have their habitats taken away from you and that you even lose your ability to feed.

I write this letter not only to express my concerns, but to invite you to make some changes that can help minimize the human impact on the environment. Among these changes I believe that it is essential that we reduce the amount of waste, especially plastic. We should consume more biodegradable products and only use plastic when we have no other option. We could also contact the city hall of our city to start a tree planting project and invite the whole community to participate, explaining how important it is to develop environmental awareness. Another suggestion is to save water and use renewable forms and energy in our activities, to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels.

I await your response and I would like you to give me suggestions that I can apply in my daily life to reduce the environmental impact.

Affectionately,

Olivia.

This question is about the following stanza from "The Raven:"

Presently my soul grew stronger; hesitating then no longer, "Sir," said I, "or Madam, truly your forgiveness I implore; But the fact is I was napping, and so gently you came rapping, And so faintly you came tapping, tapping at my chamber door, That I scarce was sure I heard you"–here I opened wide the door– Darkness there and nothing more. How does Edgar Allan Poe create suspense in this stanza?

Answer:

The source of the noise is not yet revealed, as no one is standing at the door.

Explanation:

The uncertainty about what is going on and who or what is doing the “tapping” behind the narrator's door builds suspense, makes the narrator's soul grow stronger and makes the readers feel anxious and excited about the mysterious situation, and then the narrator goes and opens the door but there is no one!: “Darkness there and nothing more.”

Once upon a time, a mother duckling sat on her eggs with great impatience. How long would it be before they hatched? Finally, one summer day, the mother duckling watched as the eggs cracked, and her cute, yellow ducklings waddled into the world. She was filled with joy until she noticed that one egg, which was larger than all of the others, remained. After many hours, the egg cracked. A large, gray duckling emerged. The mother duck was horrified at the duckling's appearance. The mother duck's only comfort was that the ugly duckling could swim and dive under the water. As the ugly duckling grew, many animals in the pond criticized him. His feathers were too dark, his neck was too long, and his body was too big. His fellow ducklings refused to recognize that underneath the feathers, the ugly duckling was kind, good, and gentle. The ugly duckling shed many tears because none of the other animals would play with him. One day, the ugly duckling decided to run far away and find a place where the animals would look past his appearance and be kind and friendly. He came to a pond and sighted three beautiful swans. Their white feathers, long necks, and kind eyes made them look like royalty. The ugly duckling sighed in disappointment. He believed that the swans would never be his friends and looked down into the pond in despair. Then, his eyes opened wide, for he saw his reflection. To his great astonishment, the ugly duckling discovered that he was a beautiful, royal swan! The swans welcomed their new friend, whose lovely appearance was matched only by his kind heart. He now felt like he belonged. Read the fairy tale The Princess and the Pea. Once upon a time, there was a handsome prince. The prince lived with his mother and father in a luxurious castle that overlooked a valley of wildflowers and a distant forest. As the prince grew up, he began to long for a princess. However, the prince wanted to be sure that the princess was a real princess. The queen and king searched far and wide for a real princess, but the prince always found something wrong with the princesses they found. One evening, there was a terrible storm. The wind howled, thunder shook the stone walls, and lightning filled the dark night sky. Through the pelting of the rain, there came a knock at the door. When the king opened the door, he saw a bedraggled girl, soaked to the skin and covered in mud. He ushered her into the castle so that she could warm herself by the fire. "Why is a young servant girl like you wandering about on such a ferocious night?" queried the king. The disheveled maiden looked at the king in disbelief. "I am a princess, come to see the prince," she explained, all the while shivering. The king summoned his wife, the queen, for advice. The queen looked at the hideous creature in disbelief, thinking that no princess would ever allow herself to be found in such a state. She thought quickly and came up with a clever plan. The queen put a small pea at the bottom of a bed and piled twenty mattresses on top of it. When the girl arrived at the room, she had to climb a ladder to reach the top of the bed, where she collapsed in exhaustion. Bright and early the next morning, the king and queen arrived at the girl's bedchamber. The queen asked the girl how she had slept the night before. "Absolutely terribly!" bemoaned the maiden. "I have spent the entire night tossing and turning. I don't know whether there is something hard in the bed, or your mattresses are rocks, but my body is black and blue." The queen and the king stared at the maiden in astonishment. Only a real princess would have such delicate skin that she could feel a pea under twenty mattresses. The queen and king brought her to the prince, who was thrilled to meet a real princess with such an independent spirit. Answer:

The piece of evidence that best supports the theme that dignity has a high cost is:

"I killed not thee with half so good a will."

"I killed not thee with half so good a will." - these words were said by Brutus right before he killed himself in Shakespeare's tragedy "Julius Caesar". Brutus is a dignified man, who was once convinced that betraying and murdering Caesar was the right thing to do. A. The environment is indifferent to the individual.
B. The individual is more powerful than the environment.
C. An individual’s place in the world is determined by his or her environment.
D. An individual affects society, just as a society influences individuals.

Answer:

C. An individual's place in the world is determined by his or her environment.

Explanation:

Dunbar describes what is it like being a black male in the 1800s America in his poem Sympathy. He gives a metaphor to the caged bird and how deadly the bird wants to get out after it sees a beautiful landscape.

Stephen Crane's A Man Said to the Universe shows the significance of the existence. And this is the existence of a human-being. This human-being is an individual and the poem is about his conversation with the universe. The man wants a recognition from the universe.

The summaries show that the correct answer is the third one - an individual’s place in the world is determined by his or her environment. Indeed, in both poems individual challenging is present.

The Diary of a Young Girl

by Anne Frank (excerpt)

Sunday, June 14, 1942

I'll begin from the moment I got you, the moment I saw you lying on the table among my other birthday presents. (I went along when you were bought, but that doesn't count.)

On Friday, June 12, I was awake at six o'clock, which isn't surprising, since it was my birthday. But I'm not allowed to get up at that hour, so I had to control my curiosity until quarter to seven. When I couldn't wait any longer, I went to the dining room, where Moortje (the cat) welcomed me by rubbing against my legs. A little after seven I went to Daddy and Mama and then to the living room to open my presents, and you were the first thing I saw, maybe one of my nicest presents. Then a bouquet of roses, some peonies and a potted plant. From Daddy and Mama I got a blue blouse, a game, a bottle of grape juice, which to my mind tastes a bit like wine (after all, wine is made from grapes), a puzzle, a jar of cold cream, 2.50 guilders and a gift certificate for two books. I got another book as well, Camera Obscura (but Margot already has it, so I exchanged mine for something else), a platter of homemade cookies (which I made myself, of course, since I've become quite an expert at baking cookies), lots of candy and a strawberry tart from Mother. And a letter from Grammy, right on time, but of course that was just a coincidence.

Then Hanneli came to pick me up, and we went to school. During recess I passed out cookies to my teachers and my class, and then it was time to get back to work. I didn't arrive home until five, since I went to gym with the rest of the class. (I'm not allowed to take part because my shoulders and hips tend to get dislocated.) As it was my birthday, I got to decide which game my classmates would play, and I chose volleyball. Afterward they all danced around me in a circle and sang "Happy Birthday." When I got home, Sanne Ledermann was already there. Ilse Wagner, Hanneli Goslar and Jacqueline van Maarsen came home with me after gym, since we're in the same class.

Which memoir structure does this passage follow?

A.)Cause and effect  B.)Flashback  C.)Chronological  D.)List

Answer:

B.)Flashback

Explanation:

A flashback is presented when the narration exposes events that happened in the past and that are being remembered by the narrator. An example of flashback can be seen in the excerpt above, where on June 14, 1942, the narrator is celebrating and narrating the events that happened on June 12, 1942.

In narrations, flachbacks are created through stimuli that provide memory. In the case of the excerpt above, the stimulus occurred when the narrator touched the diary and decided to write the events that occurred before that moment.

You will write short answers to a series of questions about how word choice and literary devices in the poem contribute to the tone, mood, meaning, and theme. Then you'll describe how "The Bells" fits into the category of Gothic literature.

Answers

Answer:

The use of words and literary devices allows the author to provide a melancholy tone in his work. In addition to providing meanings for the different conceptions and concepts that we build throughout our lives. In addition, the poem addresses topics such as the unpredictability of the future, the passage of time, fear of death and even death itself.

The poem fits into the Gothic literature exactly because it brings this rambling about death, the haunting, the discomfort and the melancholy.

Explanation:

"The Bells" is one of the best known poems written by Edgar Allan Poe. In this poem he shows how life is fleeting, how things change in meaning and how our age and experience in life change our expectations, fears and interpretations.

The poem shows the meaning of bells during different stages of someone's life. In this case, the author uses several metaphors, honomatopeias and allegories, showing how in the youth the bells are present in moments of joy, fun, construction and positive expectations, however, from the moment when the human being gets older and the unpredictability of the future and the imminent arrival of death become more and more frequent thoughts, the sounds of the bells become agonizing, melancholy, threatening and somber.
