What is tone in literature?

Tone usually refers to the feelings that a text can evoke in a reader, or it can relate to the mood that a writer suggests through language and word choice.

A piece's tone can convey a wide range of feelings. It can also be written in a variety of textual forms, from the terse to the prosaic. Poe's "The Tell-Tale Heart" uses tone to frighten the reader, and Robert Frost's "After Apple-Picking" uses tone to show the viewpoint of an elderly man. Moreover, tone is connected to several aspects of your writing, such as voice, intonation, cadence, mood, and style.

Therefore, we can conclude that option D is correct.

Write a short paragraph between 60-80 words. about a risk you have taken. Describe what happened. Make sure you clearly explain your reasons for taking this risk. Say what you learnt from this risky experience.

Answers

Answer:

A risk I have taken is becoming emotional numb. Which didn't seem smart at first, which is why it was a risk. The reason I took this risk is for the gain, if I did detach from emotions pain wouldn't hurt as much. But, at the same time I wouldn't feel things when something good would happen. How I did this was telling my self the truth, people are going to die, leave, and betray someday. To think about situations that can make me emotionally hurt and accept them. Remind myself that emotions are hormones and chemically reactions. They are only made for reproduction, to avoid people, think before I speak. Keep a reminder of how people, and in the past they destroyed eachother for the most funniest reasons. All at the same time keeping myself busy. What I've learned from this is that this is the body natural response to much feelings. We as humans aren't meant for this so it was bound to happen sooner or later. If I ever do feel anything it's mostly anger, anger overpowers all. Now that this happened I don't have remorse for it, it's great.

Answers

Answer:

Well we don’t necessarily know very much background information on how sick Elie’s father is. So we are gonna make a educated guess. Read the excerpt from "President Obama's Third Annual Back to School Speech.”

"Those are all questions that date back to this class that I took back in 8th grade. And here’s the thing: I still don’t always know the answers to all these questions. But if I’d have just tuned out because the class sounded boring, I might have missed out on something that not only did I turn out enjoying, but has ended up serving me in good stead for the rest of my life."

What argument does President Obama make in this excerpt?

Classes taken when young have a lasting impact on one's life.

Students should be open to new learning experiences.

Boring classes are just as important as interesting ones.

It is acceptable to do poorly in a class if you remember the material.

Answers

Answer: B) Students should be open to new learning experiences.

Explanation: I took the k-12 quiz, i got it wrong, but it showed the right answer.

The argument that President Obama makes in this excerpt is that students should be open to new learning experiences. Therefore, option (B) is correct.

Who was President Obama?

Barack Obama is an American politician who served as the 44th President of the United States from 2009 to 2017. Born in Hawaii in 1961, Obama attended Columbia University and Harvard Law School before working as a civil rights attorney and community organizer in Chicago. During his presidency, Obama implemented various policies on healthcare, education, foreign affairs, and the economy, among other issues.

He suggests that even if a class sounds boring, students should still be open to learning from it, as it may end up serving them well later in life. He highlights the importance of being engaged in the learning process, even if it is not always easy or immediately rewarding.

Ultimately, Obama's argument emphasizes the importance of being open-minded and curious about the world, and recognizing that even seemingly mundane experiences can offer valuable lessons.
