Should monuments be removed from public locations? Why?

Answers

Answer 1

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

You did not specify if you mean all kinds of monuments or some monuments in specific.

If your question is for all monuments in general, the answer is no. Monuments represent important moments in the history of the country or exhibit important historical figures that have forged the identity of the nation. Their public exhibition is a positive to remember those people or events with respect.

Now, on the other hand, if you are referring to the confederate monuments, this is a controversial issue that has divided the country after the death of African American George Floyd.

Like it or not, the Civil War and the Confederate side were part of the United States history and represent something of meaning for white people in the South. Unfortunately, this page of the US story is related to slavery and racism, both elements that have hurt and dive the country. So many Americans have demanded the removal of these monuments from public places such as schools, college campuses, and parks.

As controversial as it could sound, we can consider that the removal of the monuments could divide even more American society.

1. Why were Texans eager to have other nations recognize their independence?

a. They did not want to be tied to the U.S. economy any longer.

b. They knew that the republic's oil reserves would one day be valuable.

c. They hoped that international recognition would pressure Mexico to give up its claims to Texas.

d. They wanted to go to war with Mexico.

Answers

Answer: c. They hoped that international recognition would pressure Mexico to give up its claims to Texas.

Explanation:

Even though Texas had won their war of independence against the Mexicans, the Mexicans did not regard them as independent but rather as a breakaway province that would simply rejoin Mexico eventually.

The Texans knew this and sought to thwart it by seeking international recognition because they knew that this would pressure Mexico into giving u its claims because a sovereign nation recognized by others would be less likely to be treated as a breakaway province.

The excerpt below is from Adam Smith's The Wealth of Nations. Which of his
economic philosophies can be seen in modern free enterprise systems?
It is natural that what is usually the produce of two days' or two hours' labor,
should be worth double of what is usually the produce of one day's or one
hour's labor. If the one species of labor should be more severe than the other,
some allowance will naturally be made for this superior hardship; and the
produce of one hour's labor in the one way may frequently exchange for that
of two hours' labor in the other. ... In exchanging the complete manufacture
either for money, for labor, or for other goods, over and above what may be
sufficient to pay the price of the materials, and the wages of the workmen,
something must be given for the profits of the undertaker of the work who
hazards his stock in this adventure. The value which the workmen add to the
materials, therefore, resolves itself in this ease into two parts, of which the
one pays their wages, the other the profits of their employer upon the whole
stock of materials and wages which he advanced. ...

A. Social Welfare programs in industrialized nations help low-wage
workers stay competitive in the marketplace.
B. The practice of socialism ensures that workers are paid equally
despite the type of work they do.
C. Nations practicing capitalism allow workers to be paid according
to the value of their work in the marketplace.

What happened in America factories during World War 2

Answers

Answer:

Explanation:

This is one of the most interesting questions you could ask about WW2. I'm going to become a little yakky about this question because it is so important.

In the beginning of the war, before Pearl Harbor, America was asleep. She tried to arm both Britain and Russia but the problem was German subs. They destroyed an awful lot of need materials (including weapons). The American public ignored this so Roosevelt's hands were tied.

On the Japanese side, only Admiral Yamamoto opposed waking America up but since the rest of the Admiralty was all for attacking the US, it was Yamamoto who decided that if they were going to do something foolish, then it better Cripple the US for a long time, or at least long enough to find a good supply of Oil.

Then Pearl Harbor came and America woke up. It was decided that with what they knew, America would engage Hitler first.

That turned out to be impossible, so the factories went into production and Rosie the riveter/welder came into being. I think it was 20% of the work force were women and they did learn how to weld and use a riveter.

By the end of the war, America produced enough tonnage  of munitions and ships and planes to fight on both fronts. (The Pacific was made up of 3 fronts, and America supplied them all plus Europe).   America simply over whelmed her enemies. It is an amazing story, well worth your while to go deeper. Your grandparents and great grandparents will be able to tell you quite a bit if they served or worked in factories.

ASAP>>>> In contemplating the causes which may disturb our Union, it occurs as matter of serious concern that any ground should have been furnished for characterizing parties by geographical discriminations, Northern and Southern, Atlantic and Western; whence designing men may endeavor to excite a belief that there is a real difference of local interests and views. One of the expedients of party to acquire influence within particular districts is to misrepresent the opinions and aims of other districts. You cannot shield yourselves too much against the jealousies and heartburnings which spring from these misrepresentations; they tend to render alien to each other those who ought to be bound together by fraternal affection.
