2.1 La protagonista se muestra melancólica con el recuerdo de su niñez,  a su vez de esperanzada y emocionada por los cambios que trae asistir a un carnaval de niña. Sin embargo, rencorosa porque no fue del todo perfecto el suceso.

2.2 Su infancia es humilde, se describe a sí misma como una niña que no pedía mucho a su familia, probablemente porque no había manera de pedirle más, y también con ansias de ser una chica linda.

2.3 Lo afecta en el sentido de que la ve un poco oscura, con una monotonía que solo cambiaba en un día especial. Solo  al final del relato hay un poco más de alegrías, cuando se siente validada como una rosa.
