Read this excerpt from a 1936 speech in which President Roosevelt unveils the second phase of the New Deal.

Our vision for the future contains more than promises. . . .

Of course we will continue to seek to improve working conditions for the workers of America. . . .

Of course we will provide useful work for the needy unemployed. . . .

Of course we will continue our efforts for young men and women so that they may obtain an education and an opportunity to put it to use. Of course we will continue our help for the crippled, for the blind, for the mothers, our insurance for the unemployed, our security for the aged. Of course we will continue to protect the consumer against . . . monopoly and speculation.

A. He thinks that the New Deal is simply a promise to the country.

Congressional Reconstruction included the Thirteenth, Fourteenth, and Fifteenth amendments to the Constitution which extended civil and legal protections to former enslaved people.

How were American women impacted by World War II?

Answers

Answer:

Because they were no men around they had to step up and do the things the men would do this later led to rosy the riveter and made women more independent.

Explanation:

Answer:

Explanation:

World War II provided unprecedented opportunities for American women to enter into jobs that had never before been open to women, particularly in the defense industry.

Women faced challenges in overcoming cultural stereotypes against working women, as well as finding adequate childcare during working hours. Minority women also endured discrimination and dislocation during the war years.

350,000 women served in the armed forces during World War II.

After the war, many women were fired from factory jobs. Nevertheless, within a few years, about a third of women older than 14 worked outside the home.

World War II is often falsely identified as the first time that American women worked outside of the home in large numbers. In fact, about a quarter of women worked outside the home in 1940. Before World War II, however, women's paid labor was largely restricted to "traditionally female" professions, such as typing or sewing, and most women were expected to leave the labor force as soon as they had children, if not as soon as they married.

Compare and contrast foot binding to other forms of body modifications for the sake of beauty or social acceptance in America.

Answers

Answer:

Although many American beauty standards are not achieved by treatments quite as painful as foot binding, women may often feel restricted by unrealistic body and beauty expectations. Foot binding was performed to make women seem dainty and delicate. Many women in America may feel the need to be small, dainty, and delicate to be beautiful. I daresay that the majority of models are quite slim, supporting this idea. To achieve this delicate, slim ideal, many women relentlessly calorie count, restrict their diets, and work out. Some even go to the point of starving themselves through eating disorders like anorexia. It is a great tragedy of society that anyone feels the need to change themselves in a harmful way to fit a mold.

However, I am hopeful that society is becoming more accepting of unique beauty, one that does not fit the mold. Unlike the required foot binding, most women can choose how they want to feel beautiful. Although society may push certain standards upon them, they can ultimately choose for themselves what to wear, what to eat, and how to change themselves. Many people now praise loving yourself and embracing your body for what it is, flaws and all. Lizzo once said, "Just about anybody is a big girl in a small world but you gotta believe it on the inside, that you can be bigger than the rest of it."

Go forth and make your own standards! :)

to achieve a greater purpose, such as stopping a larger enemy
to allow dictators to gain power and control
to influence dictators to step down and embrace democracy

Answer:

to achieve a greater purpose such as stopping a greater enemy

Explanation: in the past the United States has aided with Russia or the U.S.S.R. to defeat Germany a greater enemy in World War 2

The United States may send military aid to a country ruled by a dictator in order to achieve a greater purpose, such as stopping a larger enemy.

The reason why this might happen would be the fact that the United States is faced with a common enemy as the dictatorship country. When this is the case the US would be open to offering them assistance.

An example of such was during the war when Germany was a common enemy to a lot of countries, yet the US offered assistance to countries like Russia and China.
