Though your grades at BECE were very good none of the school you choose offered you admission. Write a letter to your district education officer about this unfair treatment and request that something is done
Answer:
See the letter below
Explanation:
Oxfords International School,
23 Umuatako Road,
Aba.
July 14, 2020.
The District Education Officer,
Secondary Education Management Board,
Aba.
Sir,
COMPLAINT OF UNFAIR DENIAL OF ADMISSION
I humbly write in order to appeal to you sir in my quest for redress with respect to unfair denial of admission into class X irrespective of my impressive performance at the 2020 BECE examination conducted on March 4, 2020.
I sat for the BECE examination on the said date at Oxfords International School Aba where I passed all my subjects at credit level as required by the Abia State Ministry of Education. I was among the four students in my school who received the principal's merit award for excellent performance at the 2020 BECE examination.
However, when the placement list of candidates who were qualified for admission into class X in schools across Aba district was published, my name was missing from the list. I quickly contacted the principal of my school, Dr. Moses Ineh. He in turn, relayed my complaint to the head of school exams, Aba district Education Commission. The response of the head of school exams was disheartening. He said that I will have to repeat class IX since he has concluded the posting of students to high schools in Aba district and has sent a comprehensive list of successful candidates to Abia state ministry of education.
Please sir, I humbly request that you use your good office to intervene in this matter by directing the head of school exams to post me to one of the high schools in Aba district so that I can continue my education together with my classmates. It will not be a fair treatment if I am forced to repeat this examination next year irrespective of my impressive performance this year. I have attached a copy of my result notification to this letter.
Thanks in anticipation of your positive response.
Yours Faithfully,

What is the symbolic meaning of the relationship between light and dark in the story?
Answer:
Light and dark imagery pervade this story. At the beginning, we learn that the narrator's street has "dark muddy lanes" and "dark dripping gardens." His own street is "blind," as if it were also in the dark, even though “blind” also means that the street is a dead-end. These elements of darkness suggest the narrator's lack of awareness, as well as the blindness that exists in his own community.
Light is associated with Mangan's sister, the narrator's love interest, whom he knows mostly through observing her from his house and whose beauty intrigues him. He sees her figure by way of "the light from the half-opened door." The bazaar is also associated with light when the narrator is looking forward to it. Later, though, because he arrives at the bazaar late, he finds the hall with closed stalls and "in darkness."
Joyce uses light and dark to develop the theme of harboring false hopes and having them exposed. The narrator builds the expectation that Mangan’s sister and the trip to the bazaar will lift him from his drab existence. When he arrives at the bazaar, his dreams are shattered by the shabbiness of the place. The darkening hall symbolizes the narrator’s realization that his dream was an illusion.

The author chose to tell this story from the perspective of children, rather than adults. Is this strategy effective for recounting the story of the injustice done to the people of Malaga island?
The correct answer to this open question is the following.
Although the question does not provide options, we can say the following.
The author chose to tell this story from the perspective of children, rather than adults because through the eyes of the children the story changes its perspective. Although what happened on the Island of Malaga was sad and difficult, the perspective of children is not as biased as the perspective of adults. Adults' versions are loaded with sadness, resentment, and pain. Their optics are so different and the story is told through bitterness. But the children's version is impartial, purer through their innocent eyes.

A well-written buffer Group of answer choices Is a neutral but meaningful statement so the receiver continues reading. Hints that good news will follow to prompt the receiver to read further. Refers to something completely unrelated to the bad news so the receiver won't know that bad news is coming. Is all of the above.
Answer:
A. Is a neutral but meaningful statement so the receiver continues reading.
Explanation:
A well-written or oral buffer is an indirect approach to relay messages (most times negative messages). It is a neutral but meaningful statement that encourages the reader to continue reading. Sometimes we could be given the role of communicating a negative message to an individual or group of people. A buffer can be used in the opening statement to calm the individual before the message is delivered.
For example, some Human Resource officers when trying to tell a candidate that they were not chosen for a job, often begin the mail with sentences like, "Thank you, dear candidate, for your interest in the advertised role. But we would not proceed with your application because of the number of more qualified candidates for the job." The first sentence is a buffer statement because it has a neutral, and calming undertone, but is still meaningful.

Read this passage from "The American Dream." One of the first things we notice in this dream is an amazing universalism. It does not say some men, but it says all men. It does not say all white men, but it says all men, which includes black men. It does not say all Gentiles, but it says all men, which includes Jews. It does not say all Protestants, but it says all men, which includes Catholics. Which phrase from the passage most strongly reflects an appeal to logos?
Answer:
C. “but it says all men”
Explanation:
"but it says all men" from the passage most strongly reflects an appeal to logos.
Which appeal is the best example of logos? When we try to persuade others of anything using logic rather than trying to appeal to their emotions, we are using logos. Logical arguments include things like data, statistics, and common sense. Here is a quote from our hero Aristotle that exemplifies the use of logos: Men are all mortal. Man, Socrates is. To appeal to the audience's sense of reason or logic is to use logos, often known as the appeal to logic. Using facts and figures as well as making obvious, logical links between concepts, the author employs logos.
Another tactic is to build a logical argument by using literal and historical comparisons. The goal of the persuasive strategy known as logos is to persuade a listener by appealing to reason and logic. The citation of references, often known as "the logical appeal," is one form of a logo in advertising.
