This book explains how Robert Ballard discovered the Titanic and its tragic loss.
The captain had requested assistance from the Carpathia, another ship that was nearby, before the Titanic was about to capsize. At around 4:00 am, the Carpathia landed with roughly 705 Titanic passengers still alive.
As a young man, Robert Ballard had a goal of discovering the Titanic, the largest ship ever built.
He worked as a dolphin trainer while attending the University of Hawaii to study marine geology. He was enlisted in the American navy and put in charge of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution's Deep Submergence group.
For me, the most memorable portion was when Mr. Ballard discovered the Titanic, a tragic tragedy. After spending so many hours trapped within the submarine, finding the ship was such a victory. The fact that Robert Ballard's ambitions of discovering the Titanic were ultimately realized made it particularly noteworthy. After reading this book, I can now claim that the greatest ship ever lost has been discovered.
A few years later, Robert Ballard and a handful of his naval team mates construct the a little submarine named after the Titanic, in order to examine it.
