5.What is the advantage of using a package instead of a live broadcast?

Answers

Answer 1

Answer:

1. Yes, I do believe that people who read newspapers watch local news. I think that local news might be more appealing to some people, because sometimes it's easier to get your point across just by talking to someone.

2. I do think a kicker would be as effective because your audience is paying more attention. It won't warm your audience up as much, but they'll be paying attention more. If you put a kicker in the middle, it can also break up the monotony.

Answers

Answer:

In life, people will feel pain and cry, it’s just the way life works. Having someone there to understand and comfort someone else who is feeling those thing has such a large impact. When you are going through a rough time, having a friend or family who is able to put themselves in your shoes can make you feel validated and heard, like you aren’t alone in your suffering. This brings me to the topic of why empathy is so unbelievably important to have. Of course not everyone will be able to understand and actually be able to put themselves in your shoes but as humans we are able to hear someone's problems and comfort them regardless of experience, albeit not all are great with comforting others.

From what I know so far, there are three main kinds of empathy primarily that humans can have. The first of the three is cognitive empathy, which is a very great skill to have. Cognitive empathy is the ability to put yourself in someone’s shoes and see from their perspective. You don’t necessarily have to experience what they’ve been through or even experience similar emotions to have this type of empathy. A great example of this is when you go and comfort a friend who broke up with their partner, you don’t have to have experienced breaking up with someone before to feel empathy towards your friend and be able to comfort them through that. While cognitive empathy can be comforting to some people, a lot of people also want sympathy from you, which to have cognitive empathy, you won’t always feel sympathetic towards the person to feel empathy towards them. Basically, you don’t have to feel bad for them, but you can put yourself in their perspective.

The second of the three is emotional empathy which is where you feel the same emotion as the person you feel empathy for. This type of empathy specifically helps us relate and feel bad for someone when they are hurting. When you are at a funeral someone may be crying, which makes you cry as well because you can see that they are hurting and know why they are hurting no matter if you feel the same. This type of empathy can be both comforting and destructive because some people’s emotions can be amplified when someone else there is feeling the same, kind of similar to a “trigger”. It can also be overwhelming for both people, so being aware of this and having self control is very important.

The final empathy is compassionate empathy where you can understand, feel, and want to help someone else in pain. Compassionate empathy is where you actually try and do your best to help the person or try to resolve the issue, not necessarily meaning you have to cry with them or feel their pain to comfort them. This one specifically is the one where you take time to learn and understand what they are going through so then they can work through it. A good example is a therapist because they sit and listen to someone while trying to work through the person’s problems so they can get better.

While there are three main types of empathy, there are also two other ones called spiritual and somatic empathy. Spiritual empathy is the feeling to understand other worldly beings and spiritual things (pretty self explanatory) and somatic is to feel someone else’s pain in a physical way.

Empathy is so important to anyone and everyone, it’s what makes us able to understand and build connections with other people and also what makes us not robots. Not everyone will be able to understand other people but everyone still does their best to understand and that in itself can be powerful to anyone who feels bad in any way. Empathy helps us be human and helps us communicate with other people, otherwise everyone would feel isolated and feel like no one cares, causing more issues and possible even mental health problems. People should be grateful that this skill exists and that they can use it with others and people can use it with them, it’s truly amazing.

emphasize that economic downturns can be devastating to those affected by them

Explanation

The author emphasizes that economic downturns can be disastrous for individuals impacted by them in the fourth sentence of the final paragraph by using the word "calamity."

What  is meant by Disaster?

A disaster is a major issue that occurs over a short or long period of time and results in widespread losses of people, property, or the environment that are more than what the affected community or society can reasonably expect to be able to recover from using its own resources.

Both "natural disasters" and "human-instigated catastrophes" result from manmade dangers, and these categories are frequently used to categorize disasters. Today, it can be challenging to distinguish between natural, man-made, and human-accelerated disasters.

Avalanches, flooding, cold and hot waves, droughts, earthquakes, cyclones, landslides, lightning, tsunamis, volcanic activity, wildfires, and winter precipitation are a few examples of natural hazards.

Criminality, civil unrest, terrorism, war, industrial hazards, engineering hazards, and others are examples of anthropogenic hazards.

In is our gain also our loss what is most likely the reason that the authors father becomes excited when he sees his daughter eating cereal

Answers

Answer:

- It reminds him of an old commercial that he once enjoyed.

Explanation:

In the context of "Is Our Gain Also Our Loss?' the most probable reason that makes the author's father delighted when he observes his daughter having cereal is that 'it recollects his memories of an old cereal advertisement that he really enjoyed watching.' This gives him a nostalgic feel and he's down the memory lane when he was a young boy which makes him overjoyed and elevated at the same time. Similarly, when grandma sees her childhood photographs, she too gets emotional and reminiscent of her old days.

Claim: The school should only purchase and drive electric vehicles to help the United States decrease its dependence on foreign oil Which statement is an example of a major counterclaim to address in an argumentative research essay with this claim?

Answers

The question is incomplete, and the full version can be found on Brainly.

Answer: C. Converting to electric vehicles would be too costly for schools that are already facing severe budget problems.

Explanation:

A good counterclaim should directly address the main claim and be based on solid evidence instead of a mere opinion. The idea of electric cars electrocuting drivers is plainly untrue, as there´s no evidence to support it. Claiming that electric cars are ugly or the result of some kind of conspiracy can only be based on personal opinions, and are not a proper counterclaim. Only option C correctly addresses the main claim and provides a valid reason to oppose it. Budget problems in schools are widely known and would probably be a deterring factor for them to able to purchase electric cars.

Hey can someone please help me, this a question from the book “The Odyssey” I just need help with question 4 and 5

Answers

Answer and Explanation:

4. After being released from Calypso's island, Odysseus washes up on the shores of Phaecacia where Alcinous is King.

"he may come on the twentieth day to deep-soiled Scheria, the land of the Phaeacians, who are near of kin to the gods"

After Odysseus finally reaches shore, he finds shelter under two bushes and covers himself with leaves. The goddess Athena then casts a spell over him, and he lapses into a deep sleep. When he awakes, he sees the Princess Nausicaa, daughter of King Alcinous, washing her clothes by the stream.

5. What does Odysseus bring with him onto Cyclopes' island?

Odysseus brought goat skin bottle of dark wine that was given to him by Maron, a priest of Apollo.

So, he brought with him A wineskin full of potent wine.

This whine was used to make Polyphemus drunk enough for him to forget to close his rock door.

6. Why does Odysseus and his men stay in the cave after they realize that Polyphemus might harm them?

The door to the cave is blocked by a giant stone.

This stone would be too heavy for Odysseus and the men he still has left with him in the cave to push on their own, and only Polyphemus could push it. This is why they didn't kill Polyphemus, instead, made him really drunk to leave the door open and stab his eye so he can't see.

Answers

Answer:

She wasn't the least bit surprised to find out that her husband had an affair. (SURPRISE) It wasn't surprising to find out that her husband had an affair.

Explanation:

The word "surprising" is an adjective which means, 'causing surprise', or unexpected. When used in the sentence above, we see that it maintains the same meaning with the first sentence. In the first sentence, the woman was not surprised when she discovered that her husband had an affair.

In the second sentence, it was not a cause for surprise, when she found out that her husband had an affair. Therefore, the two sentences retain the same meaning.
