Explanation: I guessed and got it right

Interstate trade disputes could not be solved at the national level was causing friction between states during the time of the Articles of Confederation. The appropriate response is option D.

What is Articles of Confederation?

The 13 founding states of the United States of America came to an agreement known as the Articles of Confederation and Perpetual Union, which functioned as the country's first system of governance. The Second Continental Congress approved it following lengthy discussion and forwarded it to the states for ratification.

The United States did not have an executive branch as of the Articles of Confederation. Within the Confederation Congress, the President of Congress held a ceremonial position.

Because Congress lacked the power to control commerce under the Articles of Confederation, it was unable to safeguard or regulate international trade.

Hence, option D is an appropriate response.

10) Which of the following medieval groups were responsible for the rise of Feudalism due to constant raids and plundering?

B) The Vikings.

With Viking raids, the power was decentralized from the regional crown to the community leaders in the area. As the crown was not able to defend the locals properly, Feudalism was used to create a defensive system against the rising threats of the Northern sea-people.

11)  Which of the following best describes a Lord in Medieval society?

B) Military Generals who would be paid to guard the land by receiving land as  payment.

A Lord did not have to be a military general, however, but they received land to control, and in return, had to generate tax and food for the crown, while raising troops to fill the ranks of the King in times of war.

12) Which of the following describes a Knight in Medieval society?

C) Trained military professionals who would be paid with land and asked to protect it in return.

Knights were essentially professional soldiers, who received payment in money, victuals, shelter, or even land. They were typically mustered as the vanguard and rearguard of the army, and used in the key moments of the war. They typically were armed much more better then the ordinary soldier, which typically included a full-face helmet, plate armour (or at least mail-chain), a complementary shield, sword(s), and a type of spear. If they were pressed into the calvary, they will also be suited with a war horse and armor for the horse as well.

Slave owners discouraged their slaves from creative expression because slave masters wanted to erase the slaves' cultural identity.

Why did Slave owners discourage their slaves from creative expression? There are many reasons that slave owners may have discouraged their slaves from creative expression, but the most prevalent reason behind it would most likely be the possibility of sparking a revolt. When people are given time to express themselves, especially when in an oppressed role like those in slavery, it provides one with the opportunity to plan revolts or plan to escape. When allowed to be creative, your mind wanders. If one was stuck in slavery and was then given the freedom to think and be creative, they would begin to realize exactly how bad their situation is and will start to thinking of escape and they might start a revolt. Also slave owners discouraged slaves from creative expression to erase their cultural identity.

Create a Top Five list of events related to westward expansion that affected African Americans: (I already created the list but I need reasoning behind it)

1. Missouri Compromise

2. Compromise of 1850

3. Kansas-Nebraska Act

4. Fugitive Slave Act

5. Nat Turner's Rebellion

Please give reasons why they are rank this way. :)

Answers

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

This is the way the following events affected African Americans.

1. Missouri Compromise.

The Missouri Compromise tried to maintain a good balance between the states that favored slavery and the states that opposed the institution of slavery. African Americans who lived in the Southern states that favored slavery were severely affected by this compromise.

2. Compromise of 1850

The Fugitive Slave Act that was part of the Compromise of 1850, had been amended, abolishing the slave trade in Washington D.C. Originally, under the Fugitive Slave Act, people that lived in the northern states who opposed slavery had the obligation to return slaves to their original owners in the South.

3. Kansas-Nebraska Act.

The consequence of the Kansas-Nebraska Act was that every state had the freedom to decide if they accepted slavery or not, using the concept of people sovereignty, which meant, asking the people for an answer. African Americans who lived in the South had no voice in the decision.

4. Fugitive Slave Act

As I mentioned above, under the Fugitive Slave Act, people that lived in the northern states who opposed slavery had the obligation to return slaves to their original owners in the South. So African Americans were affected because they feared to return to the southern plantations to work as slaves again.

5. Nat Turner's Rebellion-

This rebellion led by Nat Turner showed the American people that slaves were discontent, infuriated by the way they lived, and were treated by landlords in the southern plantations. However, this affected African Americans in that southerners created oppressive legislation that suppressed any possible rights for black people and prohibited the assembly of African Americans to avoid any conspiracies.

Answer:

Create a Top Five list of events related to westward expansion that affected African Americans. Review the lesson for compromises and consequences to help make your list. Events you should consider include the following:

   Missouri Compromise

Compromise of 1850

   Kansas-Nebraska Act

Dred Scott v. Sandford

Fugitive Slave Act

Nat Turner's Rebellion

Bleeding Kansas

Harpers Ferry

Step One:

1. Dred Scott v. Sandford

2. Fugitive Slave Act

3. Bleeding Kansas

4. Compromise 1850

5.Missouri Compromise

Step Two:

Explain your reasoning for the item you ranked as the #1 event with strongest impact.

I believe Dred Scott v. Sandford is number 1, because human rights were being violated by a high power. The African Americans were being treated in an inhumane and destructive way. Also, they were being chosen, rejected, sold, mistreated, like they were an object or a piece of property. Also, the government did not understand Preamble of the Declaration of Independence that states, all men are created equal, that they are endowed, by their creator, with certain adjective rights, that among these are life, liberty, and happiness.

   Step Three:

Post your list from Step 1 and you are reasoning for your #1 answer from Step 2 in the Discussion Area.

1. Dred Scott v. Sandford

2. Fugitive Slave Act

3. Bleeding Kansas

4. Compromise 1850

5.Missouri Compromise
