How is self esteem, self confidence, and self compassion different?

Answers

Answer 1

Answer:

Self-esteem refers to the degree to which we evaluate ourselves positively. While self-confidence makes you feel better about your abilities, it can also lead you to vastly overestimate those abilities. Self-compassion, on the other hand, encourages you to acknowledge your flaws and limitations, allowing you to look at yourself from a more objective and realistic point of view.

One last change to movies to think about is production costs. Some studios spend hundreds of millions of dollars to create a film, but with a good enough film and a worldwide audience, they can also make billions of dollars in return. Movies have become a huge business, and the days of the small theater may be gone forever. For some of the old-fashioned movie lovers, this is not a good thing.

Which ONE sentence below from Source 2 BEST supports this paragraph from Source 1?

A“One Star Wars movie approached two billion dollars in worldwide revenue in less than a month of release.”

Should all individuals pay the same tax rate why or why not

Answers

All individuals should not pay the same tax rate because every individual Heyyaz a different amount of property and it has a different income. It would be unfair for someone who has less income and less property to get the same amount of tax rate as someone who has more property and a bigger income. Also the government will not make enough money if they have to wait for people a lesser income to pay the taxes. So in conclusion everyone should get a different tax rate depending on how much property and their final income of the year so it will be fair for everyone and don’t want to get too much tax or too little.

Answer:

No.

Explanation:

All individuals should not pay the same tax rate because income is a factor. If an individual is making 15$ per hour compared to someone making 50$ an hour, the individuals that make more should pay more because they can afford it better. Ex: Kate is making 15$ an hour and works a 10 hour shift, 4 days a week, in total without tax she makes 600 per week. That's not a whole lot, and lets just say everybody has to pay 90$ of tax. 90 dollars would be taken out of her paycheck, and lets see, she has to pay 100 dollars for groceries, 100 dollars for rent, and 100 dollars goes towards retirement she would only have 210 dollars for bills and all her other financial needs. But lets say Maya is making  50 dollars an hour and is working a 10 hour shift 4 times a week, she is making 2000$ a week, she has the same bills as Kate, she has 1,710$ left over for bills and other financial needs, she is able to get by, Kate is just barely getting by. Kate should pay less and Maya should pay more.

Analyze the Hopi story "How the Spaniards Came to Shung-opovi, How They Built a Mission, and How the Hopi Destroyed the Mission," and determine its audience and purpose. Cite direct evidence from the text to support your analysis.

Answers

Explanation:

Interestingly, the text was primarily designed for the Hopi people in mind because it narrates the cultural differences between the Spaniards and native American Indians during the colonial period. Also, it uses certain expressions best understood by a Hopi native. For example, referring to the Spaniards, the text says,

"He did not like the Kachinas and he destroyed the altars and the customs. He called it idol worship and burned up all the ceremonial things in the plaza."

Such statement above is meant to sympathize with a typical Hopi native who viewed the Spaniards as trying to eradicate their culture and religion.

Answer:

The storyteller uses words such as First Mesa Bahana, Kachinas, and pahos to narrate “How the Spaniards Came to Shung-opovi, How They Built a Mission, and How the Hopi Destroyed the Mission.” Only the Hopi would understand these terms, so the reader can conclude that the story is intended for other Hopi people.

The purpose of the Hopi story is to tell the audience about cultural conflicts between Europeans and American Indians during the colonial period. Perhaps the story is meant to warn or inform other Hopi people about their relations with the foreign colonists. The following excerpt from the story tells how the Europeans mistreated the Hopi:

If any man gave out on the way he was simply left to die. There was great suffering. Some died for lack of food and water, while others developed scabs and sores on their bodies.

It took a good many years for them to get enough beams to Shung-opovi to build the mission. When this mission was finally built, all the people in the village had to come there to worship, and those that did not come were punished severely.

What are the ""agencies"" to which Carson refers (para. 33)? Why are they reduced to ""so- called control agencies""?

Answers

Answer:

1. the state and federal agencies;

2. because they are ignorant of the effects of the chemicals.

Explanation:

1. The context of her statements shows she was referring to the state and federal agencies who were mandated and overzealous about getting rid of insects they deemed harmful. She said,

"The crusade to create a chemically sterile, insect free world seems to have engendered a fanatic  zeal on the part of many specialists and most of  the so-called control agencies," she clarified who she was referring to when she said, "The  most flagrant abuses go unchecked in both state  and federal agencies."

2. By calling them "control agencies" Carson was revealing that they (the state and federal agencies) were as she put it, "wholly ignorant of their  potentials for harm." That is, they were ignorant of the harmful effects that those chemicals which they advocated for had on the environment. All they knew and were concerned about was to control insects.

Mr. Frank. Now. About the noise. While the men are in the building below, we must have complete quiet. Every sound can be heard down there, not only in the workrooms, but in the offices, too. The men come at about eight-thirty, and leave at about five-thirty. So, to be perfectly safe, from eight in the morning until six in the evening we must move only when it is necessary, and then in stockinged feet. We must not speak above a whisper. We must not run any water. We cannot use the sink, or even, forgive me, the w.c. The pipes go down through the workrooms. It would be heard. No trash . . . (Mr. Frank stops abruptly as he hears the sound of marching feet from the street below. Everyone is motionless, paralyzed with fear. Mr. Frank goes quietly into the room on the right to look down out of the window. Anne runs after him, peering out with him. The tramping feet pass without stopping. The tension is relieved. Mr. Frank, followed by Anne, returns to the main room and resumes his instructions to the group) . . . No trash must ever be thrown out which might reveal that someone is living up here . . . not even a potato paring. We must burn everything in the stove at night. This is the way we must live until it is over, if we are to survive.

What does this dialogue reveal about how Mr. Frank views his role in the attic?

He considers himself to be the only person who is allowed to make rules.
He sees himself as a leader who is responsible for keeping the others safe.
He understands that people look to him for leadership, but it makes him uncomfortable.
