Las tortillas de maíz son consideradas una de las comidas principales de México y los países de Centro América. Se hacen combinando harina de maíz, agua, aceite y sal para hacer la masa. De ahí, la masa es aplanada y se le da forma a mano o usando una tortillera de tortillas. La masa de las tortillas es cocida después en un comal (disco de barro o de metal) o a la plancha. Se comen típicamente en cada comida.





English translation

Corn tortillas are considered one of the main staple foods of Mexico and many Central American countries. They are made by combining corn flour, water, oil, and salt to make the dough. From there, the dough is either flattened and shaped by hand or by using a tortilla press. The dough tortillas are then cooked on a comal (cooking plate made out of earthenware or metal) or on a griddle. They are typically eaten at every meal.
