Answer 1

Boyle's law states that If the pressure on a gas is increased, then its volume will decrease because the gas molecules will gets closely packed at high pressure.

What is Boyle's law?

According to Boyle's law, at constant temperature the volume of a gas is inversely  proportional to the pressure. Therefore, as the pressure is increased, volume of the gas is decreased.

The volume of a gas is the total space it occupied . The gaseous particles can diffuse anywhere at low pressure and they not collide each other at this maximum spreading condition.

When the pressure is increased, the force of intermolecular attraction  increases make them more compressed and the space occupied by them that is the volume of the gas reduces.

1) What volume of 0.25M lithium fluoride solution can be made by dissolving 5.0 g lithium fluoride, LiF?

Answers

Answer:

0.7712 L

Explanation:

Molarity = 0.25M

Volume = ?

Mass = 5.0 g

The relationship between these quantities is given as;

Molarity = Number of moles / Volume

Volume = Number of moles / Molarity

Number of moles = Mass / Molar mass

Molar mass of LiF = 25.939 g/mol

Number of moles  = 5 / 25.939 = 0.1928 mol

Volume = 0.1928 / 0.25 = 0.7712 L

Based on Avogadro's principle, the coefficients in chemical equations involving only gases

represent two types of quantities. Name the two quantities.

Explanation:

Answer: Molar ratio is the quantity which will correctly convert between two different substances.

Answer: Option B

Explanation:

Molar ratio is used to determine the number of moles of reactants required to convert to desired number of moles of the products and vice versa. As moles are the coefficient written in any chemical equation. The ratio of the number of moles of the reactants to the number of moles of the products will help to determine the molar ratio.

This molar ratio is used as the conversion factor to determine number of moles required in the reactant side for the reactants to form a desired product of desired moles. We can also determine the number of moles utilized from the reactants from the moles obtained in the products using this molar ratio conversion factor.

What is motion?

Motion is defined as a phenomenon which is described with respect to change in object's position with respect to time.It is given in terms of displacement,velocity,distance ,acceleration,speed.

Branch of physics which deals with motion of objects without any reference to it's cause is called kinematics while the branch which studies forces and their effects on motion is called as dynamics.

Motion applies to various systems like objects,bodies, matter particles ,radiation ,curvature.There are three laws of motion which are proposed by Newton.Classical mechanics is based on Newton's law of motion.Relativistic  mechanics is based on modern kinematics.

Describe two patterns in the periodic table?

Answers

Answer:

Patter 1: Ionization Energy Decreases going down a group

Pattern 2: Ions tend to gain/lose the least amount of electrons

Take oxygen, for example.  Oxygen has 8 electrons. To become like a noble gas it could either gain two to become  like neon or it could lose six to become like helium. So what will oxygen do—gain two  or lose six? As a general rule, atoms will gain or lose the fewest number of electrons  possible.

Which has a lower electronegativity and why? N or P? Use 'force of attraction' in your answer

Answers

Answer:

The electron sets divided among two particles are not really shared similarly. For instance, while the common electron sets are shared similarly in the covalent security in Cl2, in NaCl the 3s electron is taken from the Na iota and is fused into the electronic design of the Cl molecule - and the compound is most precisely portrayed as comprising of individual Na+ and Cl− particles (ionic holding). For most covalent substances, their bond character falls between these two limits. We showed beneath, the bond extremity is a helpful idea for portraying the sharing of electrons between molecules inside a covalent bond:

A nonpolar covalent bond is one in which the electrons are shared similarly between two particles.

A polar covalent bond is one in which one iota has a more noteworthy fascination for the electrons than the other molecule. On the off chance that this overall fascination is sufficiently incredible, the bond is an ionic bond.

Compare and contrast the Ionization energies of groups 1&2 (Alkali and Alkaline metals) with the Ionization energies of groups 16&17 (Oxygen family and Halogens)

Answers

Answer:

Ionization energy is the energy required to remove an electron from a specific atom. It is measured in kJ/mol, which is an energy unit, much like calories. The ionization energies associated with some elements are described in the Table 1. For any given atom, the outermost valence electrons will have lower ionization energies than the inner-shell kernel electrons. As more electrons are added to a nucleus, the outer electrons become shielded from the nucleus by the inner shell electrons. This is called electron shielding .

Explanation:

Ionization energy refers to the amount of energy needed to remove an electron from an atom.

Ionization energy decreases as we go down a group.
