uh you can say sometime around. “i would love if i could go on a vacation one week before spring breaks. the principal said it was totally ok for me to go.” and state the reason on why you should go!! hope this help and if you can’t write it please tell me the reason on why you should and i would be ok to put it in a paragraph for you
Dear (teachers name),
I wanted to talk to you about going on a vacation a week before spring break. Maybe state something like you’ve been very stressed out because of school maybe other factors like a home problem or for mental health reasons (since that’s more of a valid reason). State how this vacation could help you. Maybe say I think this early vacation would help me decompress and get away from the stressors of your everyday life and that you need time to focus on yourself so that you can come back from break as your better or higher self and work to your full potential. I would add in after your explanation that you had talked to the principal before hand and you got approval and that they see your point of view of the situation but you wanted to get approval from your teacher beforehand since you be missing school. I would also add in that all work would be made up from the time that you will miss and that you are willing to compromise on how you can get that done.

I hope this can help some!

What inference can be made based on what happens in “The White Umbrella”?

The narrator's mother wants to start working so she can be more independent.

Once they arrive in America, Chinese families adapt easily to the new culture.

The narrator's father has a job that allows him to financially support his family.

In traditional Chines culture, it is considered inappropriate for women to work.

Question 2

Part B

Which two details from the story best support the inference in Part A?

“‘No,’ said my father, in a barely audible voice. ‘Not like the Lee family.’”

“I remembered how sorry my parents had felt for Mrs. Lee when she started waitressing downtown the year before.”

“‘Not that we need the second income.’”

“‘But why shouldn’t I?’ she argued. ‘Lots of people’s mothers work.’"

Answers

question 1
answer: one inference that can be made is that the narrators mother does not care about Chinese culture involving women’s work. She wants to work regardless.
question 2
answer: “But why shouldn’t i?” she argued. “Lots of peoples mothers work”

hope this helps :)

The inference can be made based on "In Traditional Chines culture, it is considered inappropriate for women to work." Thus, option 4th is correct.

The two details from the story best support the inference, in Part A is “I remembered how sorry my parents had felt for Mrs. Lee when she started waitressing downtown the year before.” Thus, option 2nd is correct.

What is the theme of  “The White Umbrella”?

Gish Jen's "The White Umbrella" depicts the narrative of a little Chinese girl who is determined to conceal the truth since her mother works, which is against her family's custom. The story's thesis is that for some individuals, tradition is more important than extras such as a second salary.

One possible assumption is that the narrator's mother is unconcerned with Chinese culture surrounding women's job. She is determined to work regardless of the circumstances.

"In Traditional Chinese society, it is regarded unsuitable for women to work," the conclusion might be formed. As a result, option 4 is correct.

Part A's two greatest details support the inference: "I recalled how terrible my parents had felt for Mrs. Lee when she started waitressing downtown the year before." As a result, option 2 is correct.

c. Fact by fact
d. Problem-solution

sorry can't understand your question

C) fact by fact

The author uses lists to tell you about each fact. Each number is one fact. They don’t go in chronological order because it’s not telling the process. It doesn’t show a problem or a solution throughout the whole thing do that wouldn’t work either. It isn’t a cause and effect because that’s the same thing as problem and solution. Read the entry on Jonas Salk from Compton's Encyclopedia/The Britannica School Edition, and answer the question beneath the text.

Compton's Encyclopedia

Jonas Salk (1914-1995). For the first half of the 20th century, poliomyelitis, also known as infantile paralysis, was one of the most dreaded diseases to attack young people. By 1955 American physician and researcher Jonas Salk had developed a vaccine that almost eradicated the disease in the United States and other developed countries.

Jonas Edward Salk was born in New York City on October 28, 1914. He graduated from the City College of New York in 1934 and earned his doctorate in medicine from New York University's College of Medicine in 1939. While in medical school he had worked with Thomas Francis Jr. on killed-virus immunology studies. In 1942 he joined a group at the University of Michigan working on a vaccine against influenza. The vaccine was perfected in 1953.

In 1947 Salk became associate professor of bacteriology and head of the Virus Research Laboratory at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. There he began working on the polio vaccine. Three viruses caused polio, and a vaccine had to be effective against all of them. By 1952 Salk had developed such a vaccine and conducted field tests on children. His findings were published in 1953, and a mass field test was done the next year.

On April 12, 1955, the vaccine was released for use in the United States. In 1957 Salk was named professor of experimental medicine at Pittsburgh, and in 1963 he went to San Diego as head of the Institute (later named the Salk Institute) for Biological Studies. In 1977 Salk was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. He died on June 23, 1995, in La Jolla, California.

Answer the following question based on the Compton's Encyclopedia reading:

What was one of the challenges Dr. Salk faced in his attempt to create a polio vaccine?

Dr. Salk did not have enough money to pay for his research and supplies.

Dr. Salk had to create one vaccine that was effective against three different viruses.

Dr. Salk had to convince government officials to allow him to test the vaccine.

Dr. Salk's idea for a vaccine was not supported by other scientists and physicians.
