He knew he could never do it by cleaning up a pile at a time, so he flushed the stalls out by using the river and completed this task."

Holding torches over the neck of every head he chopped off kept them from growing back. When the hydra was no longer a threat, Hercules put it under a huge, heavy rock, preventing it from terrorizing the people again and also completing his task. Another example is when Hercules cleaned the livestock stalls and cattle manure. He knew he could never do it by cleaning one pile at a time, so he used the river to flush out the stalls instead.
