Answer:
a) another living cell
Explanation:
"All living cells arise from pre-existing cells by division."
Answer:
a; another living cell
Explanation:
according to cell theory and a guy named Rudolf Virchow, "all cells must come from pre-existing cells."
that basically mean that the cell in the picture had to have come from a living cell, not energy from the sun, or a multicellular orgasm.

What evidence from Irina's experiment can be used to show the relationship among light, oxygen, and sugar in photosynthesis
The evidence from Irina's experiment can be used to show the relationship among light, oxygen, and sugar in photosynthesis is that green plants prepare their own food in the presence of sunlight.
What is photosynthesis?Photosynthesis is defined as the the process by which green plants prepare their own food in the presence of sunlight and the heat energy converted into light energy and due to this reason green plants are known as the autotrophs.
Leaf has been known as the basic site of the photosynthesis it means that process of the photosynthesis occurs in the leaf. The main function of the leaf has to produce food material for plants which will help plants to get nourished.
There has been mainly two types of leaves and these are the simple and compound leaves. The simple leaf has been one in which single lamina has been attached to the stem by the help of petiole and compound leaf is the one in which lamina is divided into leaflets.
Therefore, The evidence from Irina's experiment can be used to show the relationship among light, oxygen, and sugar in photosynthesis is that green plants prepare their own food in the presence of sunlight.

5. When is extinction of a species most likely to occur?
A)when environmental conditions remain the same and the proportion of individuals within the species that lack adaptive traits increases
B)when environmental conditions change and the members of the species lack adaptive traits to survive and reproduce
C)when environmental conditions change and the adaptive traits of the species favor the survival and reproduction of some of its members
D)when environmental conditions remain the same and the proportion of individuals within the species that possess adaptive traits increases
Answer:
Extinction occurs when species are diminished because of environmental forces (habitat fragmentation, global change, natural disaster, overexploitation of species for human use) or because of evolutionary changes in their members (genetic inbreeding, poor reproduction, decline in population numbers).
The extinction of a species is most likely to occur when environmental conditions change and the members of the species lack adaptive traits to survive and reproduce.
What do you mean by Species?Species may be defined as a group of organisms that can reproduce naturally with one another and create fertile offspring.
If the members of species do not have adaptive traits to survive and reproduce, they will definitely become extinct in near future.
This is because the relative fitness is directly related to the appearance or existence of particular species in the habitat.
Therefore, the extinction of a species is most likely to occur when environmental conditions change and the members of the species lack adaptive traits to survive and reproduce.

Which land biome is characterized by extremely cold temperatures, very dry and windy harsh
conditions, and having a permanently frozen layer of subsoil called permafrost?
A. Deciduous Forest
B. Tundra
C. Tropical Rainforest
D. Desert
E. Grassland
F. Boreal Forest
Answer:
B Tundra.
Explanation:
Tundra winters are long, dark, and cold, with mean temperatures below 0°C for six to 10 months of the year. The temperatures are so cold that there is a layer of permanently frozen ground below the surface, called permafrost. This permafrost is a defining characteristic of the tundra biome.

Cancer is a disease caused by mutations. Yet in most instances, if a parent tragically dies from cancer, this does not put their child at a greater risk than a person who parents don't develop cancer. How can cancer be caused by mutations and ot be heritable?
a. most cancers arise from mutation in germ line cells
b. mutations that cause cancer occur on specific cells, such as sex cells
c. mutations caused by environmental agents, such as tobacco smoke, occur in somatic cells

Describe how the regeneration of the anole's tail showed both cell division and cell differentiation.
Please help need answers quick!!!
Answer:
In adult organisms the regenerative capacity of certain organs or tissues can be limited, resulting in an important clinical challenge for physicians and scientists [1-3].
Regeneration involves the capacity for renewal or recomposition of tissues, organs or even organisms, after considerable physical injury or damage, resulting from pathologies, tumors, congenital diseases or traumas, for example. As a consequence of tissue regeneration, both the composition and the tissue properties are restored, and the newly formed tissue is highly similar to the original tissue. The regenerative capacity is directly related to the presence of stem cells or progenitor cells, which are capable of proliferation and differentiation [4,5]. Tissues that maintain a high proliferative capacity, such as the hematopoietic system, have regenerative capacity even in adult organisms [6].
Cell proliferation occurs in repair processes in general, accompanied by intense production of extracellular matrix, with large amounts of collagen, resulting in the formation of fibrous tissue to occupy the injured area. Although there is lesion filling, both the composition and the tissue properties are different from the original tissue, and the tissue organization pattern is not restored, leading to an altered performance of its functions [2]. Skin healing processes with the presence of scars are examples of tissue repair [3].
Besides the natural processes of regeneration and repair, it is possible, through medical intervention, to fill lesions with natural or synthetic materials, aiming at the recovery of the compromised area, and conferring certain properties to the tissue, avoiding, for example, exacerbation of the initial lesion or the evolution of degenerative processes [1,7].
The three approaches can be used in tissue engineering, targeting regenerative medicine, as they allow the recovery of compromised areas in different degrees. However, the primary objective is regeneration, recomposition of the original tissue and resumption of the biomechanical and molecular properties, with the normal performance of their functions [1,7-8].
Tissue regeneration involves cell recruitment, growth, proliferation and differentiation, with the latter representing a crucial stage for the success of regeneration, avoiding the formation of fibrous tissue characteristic of the repair [9-12]. Tissues with greater regenerative capacity, such as the skin and liver, intrinsically present cells able to migrate to occupy the affected region, and the same cells maintain the proliferative capacity, enabling occupation of the lesion [3]. In other tissues the regenerative capacity is even more impaired. In the cartilage, for example, the cells remain embedded in the extracellular matrix, and the absence of blood vessels inhibits the presence of other types of component cell in the tissue; even the cell migration and proliferation processes are compromised. In general, regeneration and repair processes do not occur naturally in these cases, requiring surgical intervention to stimulate the subchondral bone marrow, thus enabling the presence of cells capable of tissue repair in the compromised area [13]. Other scientific techniques and methodologies seek alternatives to enable the processes both of repair and of tissue regeneration [9-12,14-16].
Anyhow the final stage of the abovementioned processes, cell differentiation, is critical. An understanding of the mechanisms that lead to the differentiation process in adult organisms allows the proposition of improvements in existing technologies and of alternatives geared towards the optimization of guided tissue regeneration processes, in regenerative medicine.

Which explanation best describes why sexually reproducing organisms have greater genetic
variation than asexually reproducing organisms?
Helppp
Answer:
think of it this way lol
Explanation:
In asexual reproduction, you are essentially producing clones of the parent. There is no genetic variation between parent and offspring - think of mitosis.
In sexual reproduction, you have several chances for genetic variation. The first occurs in meiosis 1, when homologous pairs line up and crossing over occurs. Then in meiosis 2, different combinations of chromosomes (some from mother, some from father) could end up in the gamete cells. Finally, when the gametes (egg and sperm/spore) come together in fertilization, that represents a brand new combination of chromosomes, and therefore alleles, than either of the parents had.
