Answer:

The answer is Henry VIII.

Explanation:

King Henry VIII broke ties with the Pope in the 1530s after the Catholic church wouldn’t allow him to annul his marriage to his first wife, Catherine of Aragon, who failed to produce any male heirs.

Henry VIII was anxious to ensure a male heir after his first wife, Catherine of Aragon, had borne him only a daughter. He wanted his marriage annulled in order to remarry. In 1534 after several attempts to persuade the Pope to grant an annulment, Henry passed the Act of Succession and then the Act of Supremacy. These recognized that the King was "the only supreme head of the Church of England called Anglicana Ecclesia". Then, Henry adopted the title given to him by the Pope in 1521, which was that of Defender of the Faith.

A major purpose behind the passage of the 1798 Alien and Sedition Acts was to Question 1 options: A) combat British impressment of American sailors B) convince Napoleon to sell the Louisiana territory to the United States. C) diminish the support for the Democratic-Republicans. D) enforce peace between Scots-Irish settlers and Native Americans along the Appalachian frontier.

Answers

The correct answer is C) diminish the support for the Democratic-Republicans.

A major purpose behind the passage of the 1798 Alien and Sedition Acts was to diminish the support for the Democratic-Republicans.

The Alien and Sedition Acts were controversial in that many thought they violated the Constitution.

In 1798, the United States Congress passed four acts in the times when the war against France was a matter of any moment. These acts were called the Allien and Sedition Acts and were very controversial. Specifically, the Naturalization Act, increased from five to 14 years, the requirement to get American naturalization. The Sedition Act punished the ones who spoke against President Adams. The Alien Enemies Act authorized the US government to deport the male citizens of an enemy nation in times of war.

According to Hinduism, what is the goal for a person's atman? O A. To balance that person's good and bad deeds B. To fulfill that person's dharma C. To continue the cycle of samsara O D. To equal that of Brahman

Answers

The correct answer is D. To equal that of Brahman.

Explanation

In Hinduism, the atman is a concept to refer to the essence of the individual. This in turn is related to Brahman (the essential unit of everything that exists in the universe). So, the relationship between atman and Brahman is that Brahman, being the essential unit of everything existing in the universe, encompasses the essence of being, that is, atman in a singular sense. Moreover, the atman or indivudual should work to become or to equal the Brahman. So the correct answer is D. To equal that of Brahman.

Why do you think former territories of the Ottoman Empire were not allowed to form their own independent nations through self-determination?

Answers

Answer: Loss of control

Explanation:

Self-determination refers to the rights of people to choose their own governments and political process without another country interfering in this. It is a mark of independence for a country.

The Ottoman empire did not want its territories to have this because it wanted to maintain control over them. If these territories were allowed to have self-determination, they would then begin to push for complete independence because they would have tasted a small amount of independence and would not rest until they became fully independent.

Answers

Obviously from a historical standpoint, the United States of America had the most advantage, as having more advantages typically mean that that group will win. The United States simply had much more advantages then the CSA:

1) The United States had a much larger population in which they can draft soldiers. The CSA has over 10 million less people, and many of the population counted are slaves (see the 3/5th compromise, which states that out of every slave counts as 3/5th of a legal person, which gives more overall population, and therefore, more seats to southern states).

2) The North had already been industrializing (due to the harsher climates in the North which created an environment that was not profitable to grow crops). The South, on the other hand, had little factories, and relied heavily on trade to procure resources, as many used the advantages of better farming environments to grow cash crops.

3) While the CSA had many experienced officers (who typically left to defend their homes from the US army), the US army was much more bigger, and this factor alone allowed the US to be able to take more casualties and sustain the army strength, while casualties towards the CSA would be more hard hitting.

4) The US is already acknowledged as a nation, while the CSA was on. Because of this the US had much more weight in foreign affairs, and was mostly able to keep foreign interests from helping the CSA. On the other hand, the CSA desperately sought for foreign recognition in hopes to gain foreign support through either loans, mercenaries, or other support.

5) Most of the fighting occurred in the South (except for the battle of Antietam, as well as the battle of Gettysburg). The battle of Bull Run occurred near the US capitol, however, it was still located in Virginia, a Confederate state. This allowed for most of the US infrastructures to be untouched, and production stayed fairly stable, while the CSA suffered large amounts of damage to their populated cities, crops in the field, which led to less war material for the army, as well as food in general.

There are many more advantages that the US had over the Confederates.

The only counterarguments that the CSA had over the US was simply two valid points:

1) Many of the southern experienced officers left the US army to join the CSA, and with that, brought many of their experiences, which led to their early success.

2) Most of the fighting occurred in the South, in which the South knew the terrain much more better, and was generally able to choose more favorable positions for the fight. However, this proved to be a double edged sword.
