I’d say that the pageant could give a balancing contrast of a Black Deaf woman being able to accomplish something that any person of hearing could. It would also raise opportunities for growth in confidence, and just because you’re deaf doesn't mean you’re limited to such a plain life. Any negative effect would mostly revolve around discrimination of rights just based on the color of your skin and ability to hear.
