Explanation:

Initially, the communist forces looked to be the weaker of the two and the ‘Whites’ made good progress, pushing inwards from the north, south and east. In fact, the western powers actually created a new opposition government in the north at a place called Archangel. Of course, the Russian economy had to provide the army with the supplies it needed and to achieve this, the communists introduced ‘War Communism’.

4. What exactly did ‘War Communism’ involve? Which two procedures did the government undertake to assist the take over the Russian economy?

Answers

Answer:

War communism was an economic and political system applied in the Soviet Union during the Russian Civil War from 1918 to 1921, introduced by the Bolsheviks to continue supplying cities and the Red Army with food and weapons under conditions where all normal economic systems were halted by the war.

Its characteristic features were the extreme centralization of economic management, the nationalization of large, medium and even small industries, the state monopoly on many agricultural products, surplus appropriation, the prohibition of private trade, the curtailment of commodity-money relations, equalization in the distribution of material wealth, and the militarization of labor. This policy was based on communist ideology, in which the ideal of a planned economy was seen in the transformation of the country into a single factory, the head office of which directly controls all economic processes.

How did the Gold Rush impact the United States?
(complete sentences)
The Gold Rush impacted the US by

Answers

Answer:

The California Gold Rush was a gold rush that began on January 24, 1848, when gold was found by James W. Marshall at Sutter's Mill in Coloma, California. The news of gold brought approximately 300,000 people to California from the rest of the United States and abroad. The sudden influx of gold into the money supply reinvigorated the American economy, and the sudden population increase allowed California to go rapidly to statehood, in the Compromise of 1850. The Gold Rush had severe effects on Native Californians and accelerated the Native American population's decline from disease, starvation and the California Genocide. By the time it ended, California had gone from a thinly populated ex-Mexican territory, to having one of its first two U.S. Senators, John C. Frémont, selected to be the first presidential nominee for the new Republican Party, in 1856.The Gold Rush significantly influenced the history of California and the United States. It created a lasting impact by propelling significant industrial and agricultural development and helped shape the course of California’s development by spurring its economic growth and facilitating its transition to statehood.

Dear parent ,

It feels like I've been here for years , I'm still adapting to the lifestyle here which is very hard ; It's crowded there's many soldiers, and the food doesn't fill me up on good days we have soup and I sometimes sneak the bread into my uniform for whenever I get hungry . The land is enormous I'm currently writing to y'all underneath a big tree with a nice shade , the trench is big and is very crowded we sometimes have to walk by are sides so we can make a turn . The uniform aren't the most comfortable or the warmest . The nights very cold . Some of my buddies have gotten some infections from the bombs of mustards that are thrown at us when we least expect them and since we don't have any first aid kits or the correct hygiene some soldiers had died from infections . What makes it worse we've recently have been having rats and insects I overcame my fear for rats . When they attack I still get terrified and wonder who and how many people are going to die , it gets very loud ; you can even hear some of the soldiers screaming in pain it also gets very bloody and messy. There's a land called No Mans Land and everyone fear to be sent to cross the land because hundreds bodies lay their because they were caught trying to cross the land . The trench after all gave me an opportunity to meet some of the cooliest guys out here I have 2 bestfriends named Joseph and Mario , we like to hand out underneath the tree and read mail while we eat some bread. I can't wait to be reunited and be home I miss you guys so much may God and this war be over soon and make it out safe and alive . I love you mom and dad .

Dear Jennifer,

Sweetie, I'm sorry, first of all, that you had to experience this. The hunger, it must be real. At least the shade is nice, its very hot over here. Though, I can't say the same for everyone else. You see, the mustard gas attacks aren't nice. To sum it up, it basically suffocates you. The gas that they use it called Zyklon-B, it was originally a rat killer. Don't ask me where I got this, I have my sources. The uniforms are poorly made, am I correct? Those infections also, they must be awful. Best of luck to you, Jennifer, and may God be by your side.

Sincerely, Your Parent.

Answers

Answer: Safer working conditions in factories.

Explanation:

As shown in the extract above, workers in America used to suffer unspeakable horrors whilst working in factories due to the reluctance of business owners to make factory conditions better as they chased profits and ignored the welfare of their fellow men.

Workers Rights movements rose up to lobby for workers which led to reform movements in states such New York and Illinois where laws were created directing that factories introduce safer working conditions to reduce workplace injuries.
