Dear Principal.
My name is John Smith, Senior Prefect, and I come, through this letter, to humbly ask for the integration of two important elements in the classroom, which, I believe, will form very beneficial habits for students, if they are promoted by teachers.
I believe that one of the most important skills, not only in academic life, but in social life as a whole, is the ability to interpret text. Unfortunately, I have noticed that many students have flaws in this ability and are functionally illiterate, because, although they can read, they cannot understand what they read. I believe that it would be very beneficial if teachers encouraged reading and indicated texts that should be commented, with a certain frequency, in the classroom.
The other element that I come to indicate is the execution of debates, as this will allow the students to learn to argue in a coherent and correct way, besides that it would stimulate the students to respect divergent opinions and to know how to act in a cultured way when contradicted.
If possible, I would like to arrange a meeting with you, where these and more elements can be better explained.
Thank you for your time and I await your response.
Regards
John Smith.
Senior Prefect
Refer to one or more details from the text to explain both the suspected and the true causes of yellow fever. Why was Benjamin Rush suspicious of the suspected cause?
The question is incomplete and the full version can be found online.
Answer:
Following the humoral theory, the suspected cause pointed out by Dr. Hodge was the smell of rotting coffee. This theory made sense to Dr. Rush and Dr. Foulke. However, Dr. Rush remembered the same symptoms from when yellow fever had swept through Philadelphia in 1762, which led him to believe that was the illness the patients were suffering.
Explanation:
In the second chapter of "An American Plague: The True and Terrifying Story of the Yellow Fever Epidemic of 1793", called "All was not right," Jim Murphy describes the process that took Dr. Rush to diagnose that it was yellow fever what was making people ill.

If the value of a human life is inestimable, then which of the following must be true?
Base your answer on the meaning of inestimable.
A. A human life has little value during a time of war.
B. A human life is worth a great deal of money.
С. A human life is always worthy of great respect.
D. A human life has a value greater than can be measured.
I would say D is the best one of the options, but I don’t think it’s perfectly accurate.
If it has to be considered on the basis of inestimable, the meaning of the life will be like “A human life has a value greater than can be measured.” Hence, Option D is correct.
What is the meaning of the term inestimable?
An inestimable term is a combination of two terms in and estimable The term "estimable" is a term that is used to calculate and denote the amount of a particular contribution, whereas the term "estimable" is a calculation that is related to the great extent.
Immeasurable, innumerable, invaluable, precious, valuable, and many other terms can be used in place of inestimable, and there are very good reasons why anything can be measurable.
From the standpoint of nature, it's a kind of gift from nature, and it falls into the inestimable category because it's impossible to calculate what kind of danger and damage can be caused by any type of storm.
Therefore, Option D is correct.

Pahom was ambitious. But, his ambition had lead him to his ruin. It is said that only ambitious people become successful. Infer the statement with reference to Pahom’s life In ''How Much Land Does A Man Need''.
Answer:
Pahom's ambition for land led to his death, but the only land he needed was the one he was buried in. This can be used to infer the claim that ambition leads to ruin.
Explanation:
"How Much Land Does A Man Need" was written by Leo Tolstoy and tells the story of Pahom, a peasant who had little land and many debts to pay, as well as having little money. He would very much like to own more land and one day he said "if I had plenty of land, I should not fear the Devil himself!"
The devil heard this and accepted the challenge, allowing Pahom to have access to unimaginable amounts of land. This allowed him to work hard and have enough money for everything, including buying more land. However, Pahom became a greedy and aggressive man who only cared about getting more wealth. One day, he walked many kilometers in the sun to be able to buy more land. However, prolonged exposure to the sun caused him to die. After he died, all Pahom's wealth became obsolete and the only land he needed was the one in which he was buried.

Answer:
A magazine article that uses other reliable sources
A book is written in 2014 by a high school teacher
A recent online journal article by a professor of technology education
Explanation:
A reliable source should be credible, allow to identify the author who should have knowledge about the topic he/she is talking about, it shouldn't be old as it could be outdated and it shouldn't have grammar mistakes. According to this, the sources that would be reliable for a research paper about the use of technology in school are:
A magazine article that uses other reliable sources A book is written in 2014 by a high school teacher A recent online journal article by a professor of technology educationThe other options are not right because a web page that has spelling and grammatical errors cannot be trusted, a journal entry written by a high school student could be subjective and the student is not an expert on the topic and a newspaper article written in 1985 is too old.

Think about the experiences you've had with dramatic texts, including seeing live performances or film adaptations. How does the era in which a play was written affect your ability to enjoy it or understand it? How is it different to read or see a play written more than two millennia ago (such as tragedies and comedies from ancient Greece) compared to a few centuries ago (for example, Shakespeare or others from the Renaissance) or one produced in the last 100 years?
Is there something like a modern sensibility to more recently written dramatic works that helps you connect better to them than to works from past centuries? Are there traits in older forms of drama that engage you because they are NOT modern? Describe the traits of drama that keep you engaged as well as characteristics that make it challenging to do so.
Answer:The era in which a play was written affects the ability of reader’s/spectator’s ability to enjoy it or understand it due to the lack of context, such as social norms (which change with every era), historical events which were the influence or inspiration for the dramatic work.
2. The difference in reading or seeing a play written more than two millennia ago such as tragedies and comedies from ancient Greece compared to a few centuries ago such as Shakespearean ones or one produced in the last 100 years is in the form of drama. Greek and Shakespearian drama are continuation of the same tradition but they have different forms and context. What makes these old dramas popular in modern time is their everlasting themes.
3. There certainly is. Modern sensibility helps you to connect better to the more recently written dramatic works that than to works from past centuries, as the context is much closer and therefore even more personal and understandable. But, that sometimes isn’t the matter, for example with Avant-Garde dramas.
4. Speaking from myself, yes, there are certain traits in older forms of drama that engage me more in older dramas because they don’t have a modern form or sometimes theme. When you engage in an artistic work it is according to your own sensibility.
5. The traits of drama that keep modern people engaged are mostly the context which influences the capability to understand it better and therefore to engage in it. The characteristics that make it challenging to do so are mostly the forms and language which is confusing and most likely failed to deliver what author actually wanted to achieve, like in Avant-Garde and Post-Modernistic dramas.
Explanation:
The era in which a play was written affects the ability of reader’s/spectator’s ability to enjoy it or understand it due to the lack of context, such as social norms (which change with every era), historical events which were the influence or inspiration for the dramatic work.
