write a essay about what extent did the United States of America was not successful in containing the spread of communism in Vietnam in the period of 1965 to 1975

Answers

Answer 1

Answer: The United States was a phenomenal success at containing communism after 1945, as long as one considers success as not falling to communism itself. I maintain, however, that the measure of success we should expect is the quarantine of communism to its’ component initial member, the Soviet Union. But in the years after World War II to the age of the Nixon presidency, the US failed to stop the expansion of communism to any efficiency. The whole of Eastern Europe fell to communism. The most populous nation on Earth, China, also went communist indirectly taking with it N. Korea and Vietnam, and making the countries of Cambodia and Laos quasi-communist. The United States even gained a communist satellite 90 miles out of its’ boundaries, Cuba. It is clear that American foreign policy with its’ banner of containment was a miserable failure. The end of World War II brought the redrawing of boundaries all over the world. Korea, conquered by Japan during the war, was divided at the 38th parallel then given to the USSR in the north and the US in the south. The Soviets pulled out of N. Korea in 1950, leaving a communist regime behind. That regime, funded and equipped by The Peoples Republic of China, invaded S. Korea. The United Nations (led, of course, by the United States) raised an army to restore peace and expel the aggressors. The “conflict” lasted three years and victory changed hands twice before the bloodied United States established a cease-fire zone on the familiar 38th parallel. Some might say that communism in this case was successfully contained, however, the loss of 53,000 American lives in a fruitless attempt to topple a regime is hardly a victory. A similar yet more gruesome failure of the United States would materialize in Vietnam. Vietnam declared independence from France in 1945, which the French did not recognize. A war broke and after 8 years of fighting the decision came in 1954 to split the country in two, North Vietnam being Communist and South Vietnam led by the Vietnamese who supported the French. Diem, the South Vietnamese leader was assassinated in 1963, causing the U.S. to send over American troops to try to support the non-Communist regime in the South, in accordance with the Truman Doctrine. The consequent struggle would prove to be the most agonizing and long defeat of the American military in history. Fighting a traditional war in a guerrilla setting and the insistence that we could win the war without popular support of the South Vietnamese were two key elements of our failure. The United States suffered 68,000 dead along with 400,000 S. Vietnamese allies. It was 1973 when we first started to withdraw our troops, and in 1976, all of Vietnam came under rule by the Communist North. Later, Vietnam would occupy Laos and Cambodia in part of an Asian Soviet bloc.

Why does the Supreme Court feel that the “separate but equal” doctrine does not violate the 14th Amendment?

Answers

The Supreme Court felt that the "separate but equal" doctrine didn't violate the 14th Amendment because they believed that both blacks and whites were being treated equally despite being separate. The 14th Amendment gave American citizenship to all African Americans, this included former slaves. This means that the government must give all American citizens the same rights, equal protection, and due process.

The Brown v. Board of Education case proved that the "separate but equal" doctrine was false. This was where a young African American girl had to walk a long way to her black school, while there was a white school very close to her home. This was an obvious problem and proved that "separate but equal" was not equal at all. Eventually, this case ended segregation in public schools. The Plessy v. Ferguson case also proved this, but the Supreme Court tried to justify the "separate but equal" doctrine by saying how blacks and whites have the same equal facilities.

Why was America hesitant to join the war?

Answers

The United States was very reluctant to enter World War I for several reasons. One reason had to do with trade. We were trading with countries on both sides of the conflict. Before the United States joined World War II in response to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, the great battle had been raging in Europe since 1939. While the British and Russians struggled against the German Reich, the United States remained officially neutral and refused to enter the war.  Hope this helps!! :D

Why were Alexander Hamilton's policies so hotly contested during his time? Make a list for and against those policies.

Answers

Answer:

One of Hamilton's unpopular ideas was to repay the national debt.

Explanation:

From farmers to Madison and half of Washington's cabinet, the opinion was that such a move would take too much money from the ordinary person and put too much money in the pockets of the East coast financiers who would then have amplified power while being the only ones to benefit. Another unpopular action was the chartering of a national bank. Today, repayment of national debt (or attempts thereat) and the function of a national bank (The Federal Reserve) are bedrock financial policy, realities that mitigate previous historical opinion of Hamilton.

1. Based on the graph shown, do you think most Americans are saving the recommended 20% per paycheck? Why or why not?

Answers

Answer:

No

Explanation:

39% of people don't even have 400 dollars in their emergency savings to pay unexpected expenses.

True, as the majority of Americans save the necessary 20% of their monthly income as 50-30-20 strategy.

What is 50-30-20 strategy?

The general recommendation is to set aside 20% of each paycheck for savings. This relates to a common budgeting principle known as the 50-30-20 method, which states that you should set aside 20% of the income for savings and investments and 50% of the income for needs, wants, and savings.

This "gold standard" won't apply to everyone or in every circumstance, according to Anderson Financial Strategies' Shon Anderson, a licensed financial adviser. He also proposes an 80-20 split, whereby you dedicate 20% of the take-home pay to saving and the other 80% to spending on your necessities and wants. The 20% allocation is supposed to be constant regardless of the strategy.

Thus, the given statement is True, as the majority of Americans save the necessary 20% of their monthly income as 50-30-20 strategy.

Correct beauty is connected to the natural word

1. Beauty is often connected to the natural world. What are some of the consequences or effects on a philosophy of beauty when nature is considered?

When nature is considered, beauty becomes more than what is seen objectively. To Aristotle, who looked for beauty in everyday actual objects, he understood the real essence of things was not as we perceive them, but as they actually are. The natural world can be manipulated to appear different, but the true essence of beauty in nature cannot be changed.

2. What is "sensible" beauty and ethical beauty? How do the two differ? How are they similar?

Sensible beauty is what logically thinking people perceive as beautiful, something that is near enough to perfection. To Plato, this was the idea of humans becoming closer to gods through creating something. To others, sensible beauty is merely something that looks good. Ethical beauty, on the other hand, is the love for what is truly good, rather than what appears as good. In Plato’s Symposium, he differentiates the two by saying when one falls in love, they are in love with but a single person, and over time you begin to realize that the body of one person is much like another. But eventually, a person begins to realize that the true beauty of a person lies not on the surface, but instead within their soul. This is where the differences between sensible and ethical beauty lie.

3. Is beauty subjective? What are some of the problems with seeing beauty as purely subjective?

Beauty is most definitely subjective. What is seen as beautiful to many, may not be to the few. And vice versa. The problem with this is that you can be drawn to believe that beauty does not exist in all. When beauty is considered to be something that only some see, then it is lost in the eyes of many.

Answer:

Who passed the Native American Removal Act?

The Indian Removal Act was signed into law by President Andrew Jackson on May 28, 1830, authorizing the president to grant lands west of the Mississippi in exchange for Indian lands within existing state borders.

Explanation:

The Young Turks were ultimately nationalists who favored political reform: eliminating the absolute monarchy and creating a more secular, balanced, and modern government. They were the first reformers to promote industrialization, and they worked to increase access to education, especially for women. The Young Turks also reformed the legal system, removing much of its religious influence.

Despite their commendable achievements in domestic affairs, they were far less successful in foreign affairs. The Ottoman government chose to enter World War I on the side of the Central Powers, and the war ravaged much of the Ottoman territory and decimated its population. From 1915 to 1917, the Young Turks oversaw the massacre of an estimated 1.5 million ethnic Armenians who lived within Ottoman borders in an effort to remove outside influence on their nation. Less than a year after the war’s end, the empire had fallen, its territory broken up by the Allied powers.

What ideas did the nationalists of Turkey support? Check all that apply.

a more modern legal system
an accessible educational system
the acceptance of Armenian culture
the end of an all-powerful monarchy
an independent Turkish government
