Read the excerpt from “Pakistan’s Malala.”

On the blog, she praised her father, who was operating one of the few schools that would go on to defy that order.

"My father said that some days ago someone brought the printout of this diary saying how wonderful it was," Malala wrote. "My father said that he smiled, but could not even say that it was written by his daughter."

Now that active and imaginative mind could be gone.

Let’s pretend you were assigned a research paper for your history class. While searching for resources on the Internet you find two websites about your topic. One website is a personal blog. The other website has .gov at the end of its web address. Which website would be better to use for your research paper? Explain why.

Answers

.gov would be the better use for your research paper because the .gov is verified. The blog is just someone’s else personal experience, and you probably wouldn’t be able to relate to that from your own point of view. Rather than the .gov website is actually showing facts & other information to help on the paper instead of someone’s else experiences
Gov Because that website is a legitimate website to use as a resource and it will most likely be giving you fax and not an opinion in the things on there most likely can be backed up.

For someone whom decided at a young age, I have wondered what made a small child, such as I, decided to be an actress. If it were the case it would happen, I wouldn't have faced such horrendeous treatment. As color and sounds would soon arrive to television I wanted to be on the silver screen. I was six when I was put into my first play in a church. Oh, how I wish I could go back to those days. I was an amazing actress, I pranced, danced and sung while going across the stage, I was absolutely proud of my work, the year after I was in a school play. It was just as absolutely wonderful as the first time. By the age of seven,  I received my first television role. I had wished for a role my entire life. My mother was always concerned about my wishes to be an actress, and I would wish to be an actress, even if I had to give my life for it. I had met the producers, whom were slender and pale. They were terrifying as it looked as though they were skeletons. Of course, I was a purely naive child. I knew nothing of what was to happen. I walked down the hall, towards the place where filming would take place. We had been working on a film for about sixteen days before the producer and director got mentally and physically abusive. It was only a matter of days before I left the film set. It had never gotten to the cinemas or televisions as it never got finished. In the end, I tried acting one more time when I was twenty-two. The same director was there, and that was the last day I was to see. I remembered the times when I was little where I would wish to be an actress, to the point I would be willing to give my life for it. I wondered why I had done something so bizzarre. Telling the truth is a very important thing. If you want to have good relationships with your friends and family, simply don't lie. Being honest will go a long way. Plus, it's really not all that hard.

The more honest you are, the easier it is to trust. Not only will others trust you, but you can also feel more confident when trusting others. It's always good to pay it forward and develop good karma. That's much easier to do with honesty than it is to do with not being true or faithful.

Honesty leads to a fulfilling, free life. Honesty is not just about telling the truth. It's about being real with yourself and others about who you are, what you want, and what you need to live your most authentic life.  Honesty sharpens our perception and allows us to observe everything around us with clarity.

Being trustworthy means being honest - even if you feel the situation and the individuals involved do not initially merit it. When you build a reputation for honesty, you are also building integrity and credibility – truly, two aspects of relationships essential in building trust. Tell the truth.

Chapter 1: The Cobbler's Son
My name was Tommy Stubbins, son of Jacob Stubbins, the cobbler of Puddleby-on-the-Marsh; and I was nine and a half years old. At that time Puddleby was only quite a small town. A river ran through the middle of it; and over this river there was a very old stone bridge, called Kingsbridge, which led you from the market-place on one side to the churchyard on the other.

Sailing-ships came up this river from the sea and anchored near the bridge. I used to go down and watch the sailors unloading the ships upon the river-wall. The sailors sang strange songs as they pulled upon the ropes; and I learned these songs by heart. And I would sit on the river-wall with my feet dangling over the water and sing with the men, pretending to myself that I too was a sailor.

For I longed always to sail away with those brave ships when they turned their backs on Puddleby Church and went creeping down the river again, across the wide lonely marshes to the sea. I longed to go with them out into the world to seek my fortune in foreign lands—Africa, India, China, and Peru! When they got round the bend in the river and the water was hidden from view, you could still see their huge brown sails towering over the roofs of the town, moving onward slowly—like some gentle giants that walked among the houses without noise. What strange things would they have seen, I wondered, when next they came back to anchor at Kingsbridge! And, dreaming of the lands I had never seen, I'd sit on there, watching till they were out of sight.

Explanation: Its based on your opinion, therefore there isn't any wrong answer unless it doesn't make sense.

1. Football is the most dangerous sport. There are high rates for concussions, traumatic brain injuries, and brain disorders. Its a sport where you tackle each other to get to the other side. 2. For this question, just come up with a situation you've done something scary, like the example bungee jumping.3. Some people participate in dangerous activities for personal gain or recognition. 4. They should decide when people start getting major injuries constantly. 5. I think that hunting is a necessary skill for human survival, it's also the reason why we wake up with food everyday. 6. It goes both ways. Its no question that some people show more sympathy for animals then humans. But I also think that humans should practice in shooting ranges instead of animals.

1 Football , Football can give you very bad head injuries. There has been many cases where teens or older people have hurt their head very bad and ended in the hospital.

2 Roller Coaster , I got on the highest Roller Coaster on sea world and it made me super nervous and very scared .

3 Some people participate in these activities because they like it , some because they get paid for it , but there’s many reasons why people could participate in dangerous activities.

4 Someone should always go for what they like , they should search up the pros and cons of that specific sport . They can search up any injuries in the game and stuff like that .

5 Don’t like it , think it’s a disrespect to Mother Nature , to the animals cause why kill them , you can just go to the store and buy food , there is no need to kill these poor animals .

6 I really dislike that they kill for fun , but it’s also very dangerous, cause if they get bored of killing an animal they might start killing people not saying everyone but there has been cases like that .

26. A figure of speech in which an object or animal is given human feelings, thoughts, or attitudes.

a. Hyperbole
b. Simile
c. Onomatopoeia
d. Personification

Answers

D. Personification

Why D is the correct answer:
-A hyperbole is an extreme exaggeration, making it wrong.

-A simile comparing two things, using the words “like” or “as” making this option wrong too.

-The third option is wrong too because an onomatopoeia are action words.
