Read the excerpt from A Black Hole is NOT a Hole.
For example, imagine a fluffy snowball and a harder-packed snowball of the same size. The fluffier ball is made of less stuff. Its pull is wimpier than the pull of the densely packed ball.
You can feel this difference when you hold the two snowballs in your hands. Each one presses down on your hand because of the gravitational attraction it shares with Earth. The hard-packed snowball has a stronger attraction to Earth because it is made of more material. It presses more forcefully than the fluffy one. It feels heavier.
What do the differences in the two snowballs help the reader understand about gravity?
Hard objects have a stronger attraction to Earth than fluffy objects.
Hard objects have a weaker attraction to Earth than fluffy objects.

In one or two paragraphs, describe one problem that helped lead to the fall of the Roman Empire. Are there any lessons that modern nations could learn to avoid this problem?
Answer:
one major problem that helped lead to the fall of the Roman empire was overexpansion and military overspending. At its height, the Roman Empire stretched from the Atlantic Ocean all the way to the Euphrates River in the Middle East, but its grandeur may have also been its downfall. With such a vast territory to govern, the empire faced an administrative and logistical nightmare. Even with their excellent road systems, the Romans were unable to communicate quickly or effectively enough to manage their holdings. Rome struggled to marshal enough troops and resources to defend its frontiers from local rebellions and outside attacks, and by the second century the Emperor Hadrian was forced to build his famous wall in Britain just to keep the enemy at bay. As more and more funds were funneled into the military upkeep of the empire, technological advancement slowed and Rome’s civil infrastructure fell into disrepair.

Martin develops this claim: "If students have passed all their classes and tests in those classes, it is not fair to make them also pass a test to graduate from high school." Which answer choice best describes Martin's claim? Martin's claim does not take a position. Martin's claim is based more on emotion than reasoning. Martin's claim does not respond to the promot. There was a time when Germany’s economy was at its worst. When Adolf Hitler’s Nazi Party was rising to power. Yet, Otto and Edith Frank were blessed to welcome Annelies Marie Frank to their lives on June 12, 1929 on the outskirts of Frankfurt. As a young girl, Anne is forced to go into hiding amidst much political persecution of her people in her new home country of Netherlands.
Living in the secrecy of the Annex forces upon Anne the stark reality of a critical time in a Jew´s life. Anne will eventually complete her diary with over two years of experiences of the Secret Annex. Two years that will change the bright-eyed little girl who walked into the annex for the first time into a fully-fledged woman that would never leave that place alive.
Anne's diary begins just as Anne hits adolescence. She tells us that “Writing in a diary is a really strange experience for someone like me. Not only because I've never written anything before, but also because it seems to me that later on neither I nor anyone else will be interested in the musings of a thirteen-year-old schoolgirl. Oh well, it doesn't matter. I feel like writing, and I have an even greater need to get all kinds of things off my chest.” At this stage she is just a little girl trying to relieve some of the constraints of her confinement by writing something.
Although she is living the extraordinary circumstances of hiding in an annex from German persecution, Anne faces the many normal problems of any bright-eyed thirteen year old. Anne begins to mature emotionally and physically, and recognizes her limitations to understanding adulthood when she first began writing her diary. In one entry, she shows that her younger self has deepened "I wouldn't be able to write that kind of thing anymore," she says. "My descriptions are so indelicate."
Anne matures over the course of the Diary into a deeper more realistic woman. Anne begins as an optimistic young girl who, with the passing of time, reflects on her place in the world and is quick to challenge views and argue with the other residents in the annex. As she tells us on page 142, “Sometimes I think God is trying to test me, both now and in the future. I'll have to become a good person on my own, without anyone to serve as a model or advise me, but it'll make me stronger in the end.

Racing to Race
Carlo stopped to rest for a minute and tried to catch his breath. He’d been running for so long that he had pains in his side and his legs were beginning to hurt. He hunched over and tried to expand his lungs, but it was like trying to suck air out of a bicycle tire. His body was too exhausted to even allow him to take a deep breath, and he started to wheeze again.
“Great,” he thought, “let me just add asthma to my expanding list of ailments. I can’t believe that I can’t even jog two miles without completely collapsing!” He finally gave in to his aching body and laid down on the grass to recuperate. He closed his eyes and tried to imagine himself running on the school track in the 1,600-meter race. He pictured himself running steadily toward the finish line, running effortlessly like a cheetah in the jungle. He was so lost in thought that he didn’t even hear Meiya approach.
“Hey sleepyhead, what are you doing napping on Sean’s lawn in the middle of the day?” Meiya asked playfully.
Carlo quickly sat up, breathing normally now and feeling a little embarrassed. “I am trying to get in shape to try out for track, but I can’t even run two miles,” he said dejectedly.
“Wait, how many months are you out of surgery? Didn’t you just finish rehab last week?” Meiya asked. “You can’t expect to run two miles the first day.”
It had been six months since Carlo’s surgery and he specifically remembered the doctor telling him he could start running after six months. But he thought about what Meiya had said and realized she had a good point. After his surgery, the doctor did say rehab would be crucial to his recovery but that it would take time for him to gain back full use of his leg. He thought about how a baby had to learn to walk before it could run. He remembered when his nephew was learning to crawl; within days it seemed like he was walking. Running didn’t come right away, Carlo remembered. He realized it was the same with his therapy. The maximum he had run in the past month was one mile on the treadmill, so he realized that Meiya was probably right. He would have to work at building up his endurance and set more realistic goals for himself. As he thought about what he had already accomplished, he started to smile and felt like a weight was being lifted off his shoulders. He realized that he had run almost a mile and a half before his body started to protest and if he kept working hard, he could get back to where he was before his accident.
“Since when did you get so smart, Dr. Meiya?” he teased. “Do you want to race to the next mailbox?”
“You’re on!” she challenged and took off running at full speed.

im assuming its right
The feature of life in the early 19th century created a kind of fear and anxiety that Gothic writers expressed in their works of horror or tragedy is the nation's aggressive, often violent approach to expansion. Thus, option A is correct.
What is tragedy?Tragedy is a dramatic genre focusing on human suffering and, in particular, the tragic or unhappy circumstances that befall a major character.
Although no choices are associated, we may claim that the aspects of existence in the early nineteenth century generated a type of fear and anxiety that Gothic writers reflected in their works of horror or tragedy where misfortune and the fear of death were present.
The Gothic style is considered a subgenre of horror in fictional literature. Some writers trace Gothic literature back to 1764, when English writer Horace Walpole published "The Castle of Otranto."
Themes represented in Gothic literature are based on human fears and anxieties, life tragedies, the fear of the unknown, and so on. Therefore, it can be concluded that option A is correct.
