Write about Athens.

Greece's capital is Athens. It was also the center of the mighty civilization and empire known as Ancient Greece. The Acropolis, a hilltop fortress topped with historic structures such as the colonnaded Parthenon temple, is one of the city's most iconic attractions and dates back to the fifth century BC. The National Archaeological Museum and indeed the Acropolis Museum, respectively, both house conserved sculptures, vases, jewelry, as well as other relics from the ancient Greek civilization.

The fact that Athens is the origin of Western civilization is the city's most well-known characteristic. Many of the philosophical and aesthetic concepts from Classical Greece developed in the city, which is regarded as the cradle of democracy.

For more than 3,000 years, Athens has been continually inhabited. During the first millennium BC, it rose to prominence as the capital of Ancient Greece, and its creative achievements in the fifth century BC laid the groundwork for western civilization. Its infrastructure serves as a model for that of the classical Greeks.

Answers

Answer: The answer is complex and not straightforward.

Explanation:

The article relates to Churchill and Roosevelt, so is probably dated from World War 2.

Given this and the reference to the use of force by aggressive nations it is reasonable to assume that this refers to the Axis nations and their allies, primarily Germany, Japan and Italy.

What is being referred to is reflected in the policies applied to Germany and Japan at the end of World War 2. (Italy had already switched sides and deposed Mussolini).

In the post war agreements drawn up, Germany and Japan were largely demilitarised with strict control over their armed forces. In the case of West Germany their limited armed forces existed only within the context of NATO to prevent any aggressive use as was evidenced at the beginning of World War 2.

In both instances these countries were not allowed to develop or possess nuclear weapons.

Until such time as there is a global disarmament treaty, as referred to in the article, then countries which are deemed "aggressive", the losers in a conflict, by others, the winners, have arms controls imposed.

Of course this does not and has not stopped the proliferation of weapons, and conflicts throughout the world since 1945, including the aggressive policies of countries such as the UK and the USA.

What does quiet symbolize in All Quiet on the Western Front?

In this book, the word "quiet" is used to describe a wide variety of things, but it is virtually usually used to refer to calm, peace, and everything else that the conflict is not. Here are a few instances of "quiet": The enemy is referred to as "quiet" in this passage.

Outside of Germany, censorship of Remarque's book also occurred. American customs officials in Chicago had seized any books that hadn't been expurgated, and Boston had prohibited the English version due to obscenity.

Unfortunately, Goebbels' campaign against All Quiet on the Western Front was successful, and a week after its December 11, 1930, debut, the movie was outlawed in Germany.

Thus, option B is correct.

instead of treating the southern states as wayward children how does Johnson say congress is treating them

Answers

When Grover Cleveland became President in 1885, he was the first Democrat to occupy the White House since James Buchanan was elected just prior to the Civil War. For most of his first term, Cleveland was more concerned with preventing Congress from granting privileges to special interests than with pursuing his own legislative agenda. He did not see himself as an activist President. Beyond making speeches, he did not send much legislation to Congress or demonstrate much leadership. Instead, he focused on making the federal government more efficient by appointing officials based on merit. Cleveland's management style was to name qualified cabinet members, delegate authority to them, and use them for advice and counsel.

Legislative Impact

Cleveland did push two legislative initiatives, during his first term, however: the repeal of the Bland-Allison Silver Purchase Act of 1878 and tariff reduction. His efforts, however, were ineffective and poorly presented. Always a hard-currency advocate (he thought that paper money should be backed by gold), Cleveland believed that inflating the money supply through the purchase and coinage of silver undermined confidence in the American dollar and punished creditors by paying them money less valuable than the dollars they had originally loaned. On this issue Cleveland stood apart from his constituency, especially in the South and West. The Bland-Allison Act remained law until the Sherman Silver Purchase Act of 1890 replaced it. Tariff reduction, on the other hand, had the support of many Democrats. However, Cleveland's ineffective leadership generated little change in the tariff structure.

Consistent with his actions as governor of New York, Cleveland was not shy about using his veto power. For example, he turned away hundreds of veterans' pension bills because he thought they were fraudulent. He also vetoed a bill to provide drought relief to farmers in the West owing to his belief that such assistance was not the province of national government.

Jane McCallum was important in Texas history because she fought for women's suffrage and later became the Texas secretary of state. The correct option is C.

Who did Jane McCallum fight for?

McCallum was a pioneer in the Texas women's suffrage movement and always carried out her civic duties "squarely and successfully." McCallum, who was born in LaVernia, Texas, in 1877, relocated to Austin in 1903 after her husband was appointed school superintendent. She was chosen as the Austin Woman Suffrage Association's president in 1915.

She supported the Texas League of Women Voters' efforts to advance legislation governing child labor, health care, and education. She served as the executive secretary of the Women's Joint Legislative Council, a potent organization referred to as the "Petticoat Lobby" at times. Discuss the positive and negative effects of the United States foreign policy's efforts to root out communist influences in the decade following World War II.
Post a detailed response to the discussion prompt.

Answers

Answer:

As a result of the United States’ foreign policy efforts to eliminate communism after World War II, there were many positive and negative consequences. A positive effect of these policies was that they allowed for the expansion of the military and created organizations that would benefit the defense of the U.S, such as The National Security of 1947 and the Central Intelligence Agency. These two groups were created to perform undercover intelligence operations in foreign countries. Policies such as the Marshall Plan and brinkmanship had negative consequences. The Marshall plan gave money to European countries to avoid communist takeovers. Over many years, billions of dollars were spent on these countries when veterans and other citizens were struggling on the home front. Brinkmanship was a dangerous way to negotiate and was used to force the other nation or party to back down. In a time when atomic bombs were first made, it caused much anxiety in many citizens of the U.S.

Explanation: Yeah

Domestic considerations, the actions or behavior of other states, or plans to achieve specific geopolitical designs all influence the evolution of foreign policy.

What are the effects of Foreign Policy on the US?

These policies had a good effect in that they allowed for the expansion of the military and the formation of institutions that would aid in the defense of the United States, such as the National Security Agency and the Central Intelligence Agency. These two organizations were formed to conduct covert intelligence operations in foreign countries.

Policies such as the Marshall Plan and brinkmanship have unfavorable outcomes. The Marshall Plan provided funds to European countries in order to prevent communist takeovers. During a time when veterans and other people were struggling at home, billions of dollars were spent on these countries over a long period of time.
