Answer:
Description
Since its inception, life on earth has had to adapt to changing environmental conditions - this represents a driving force of evolution.
This module examines how organisms detect and respond to changes in their environment, and reviews the different behavioural, physiological and molecular mechanisms underpinning environmental (stress) adaptation.
Understanding these organism-environment interactions forms the very foundations of ecology. Examples are provided from a range of organisms, but a specific focus is given to terrestrial invertebrates (insects) and plants.
The term “environment” covers a broad spectrum of spatial scales, from changes occurring at the cellular level, to large scale geographic differences between major climatic zones (polar, temperate and tropical).
The process of “change”, and adaptation to these changes, will in turn be discussed across a broad spectrum of timescales. These include:
The requirement for rapid adaptation to potentially dramatic shifts in environmental conditions, e.g. when a parasite first enters its host
Longer-term changes and adaptations across seasonal timescales, e.g. hibernation/insect diapause
Adaptation on an evolutionary timescale, e.g. the ‘Red Queen’ hypothesis, across scenarios of past environmental changes, and extending out to current predictive climate change models
The main aims of this module are to provide students with information, guidance, and access to resources, that will allow them to:
Gain an in depth understanding of how organisms respond and adapt to changes in their environment.
Recognize that the term “environment” covers a continuum of spatial scales from molecular environments within cells, to broad-scale geographic environments and climatic zones.
Appreciate that adaptation to environmental change for an individual organism is transient and occurs across a temporal spectrum of seconds to seasons. For species, adaptation is long-term, but not fixed/permanent, and occurs across a timescale of generations.
Interpret the potential impact of climate change on species, communities and ecosystems. Specifically with respect to how the rate of environmental change may limit effective adaptation, and so result in changes in species distribution and abundance patterns
Become effective independent learners, capable of analysing and interpreting the scientific literature to help formulate and express their own ideas

Which organisms are producers?
Do all please or some is fine
Answer: lilypad, grass, & ivy
Explanation:
these all use sunlight to produce their own energy
The primary producer in this case is the basal level green leaves, lotus, and grass, which play the primary role in photosynthesis and food production in the food chain or ecosystem.
What is a producer in the ecosystem?Producers are the foundation of every ecosystem, as they are responsible for producing the organic matter that is used by other organisms in the food chain. They are able to produce this organic matter by using energy from sunlight or chemical reactions to convert inorganic substances like carbon dioxide and water into organic compounds like sugars and other carbohydrates.
Plants are the most common example of producers in terrestrial ecosystems, as they are able to perform photosynthesis and convert energy from sunlight into food. Algae and other photosynthetic organisms perform a similar role in aquatic ecosystems. Some bacteria are also capable of performing chemosynthesis, which involves using energy from chemical reactions to create organic matter.
Hence, the primary producer in this case is the basal level of green leaves, lotus, and grass, which play the primary role in photosynthesis and food production in the food chain or ecosystem.

List the helpful interactions.
List the harmful interactions.
Answer: (harmful)
-Sometimes only one organism or species benefits from an interaction at the expense of another organism or species. This type of negative ecological interaction can come in different forms, such as predation or competition. ...
-Parasitism. ...
-Predation. ...
-Interspecific Competition.
Explanation: (helpful)
They include the provision of food, habitat, and more specialized services such as pollination, dispersal, predator defense, and reduction of physical stress. There are two types of positive interactions, mutualisms and commensalisms
When crops have two parents, their offspring will all be DIFFERENT.
A True
B False
Explanation: In sexual reproduction one full set of the genes come from each parent. Living things produce offspring of the same species, but in many cases offspring are not identical with each other or with their parents. ... Changes in genes can be caused by environmental conditions, such as radiation and chemicals.
Prokaryotic cells that can use cellular respiration to make energy perform some of that process using the cell membrane, since they lack membrane-bound organelles. Eukaryotic cells, on the other hand, start the process of cellular respiration __________ and finish it __________
on the cell membrane; in the Golgi apparatus
in the Golgi apparatus; on the cell membrane
in the mitochondria; in the cytoplasm
in the cytoplasm; in the mitochondria
On the other hand, eukaryotic cells start the process of cellular respiration in the cytoplasm and finish it in the mitochondria: option D.
What is an eukaryote? An eukaryote can be defined as an organism with a well-defined cell organelle such as:
Plasma (cell) membraneNucleusMitochondriaCytoplasmIn eukaryotic cells, the cell organelle that is generally used to start cellular respiration is known as cytoplasm and finished in the mitochondria, which provides all the energy required.

What is the difference between a conclusion, a theory, and a scientific law
Answer:
Explanation:
As previously stated, a scientific theory is a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world. A scientific law is simply an observation of the phenomenon that the theory attempts to explain.
Answer: A conclusion, is the end results of a scientific study. something that was discovered due to the data collected. A scientific law, is proven factual evidence, like Newtons universal law of Gravitation, it has been proven time and time again, and is fact. Theory, is not yet proven fact, that does however have evidence and idea, but not fully supported, and is not yet dis-proven either. Hope this helps ^_^

which best describes adaptation radiation
Answer:
Biodiversity resulting from few ancestors. The adaptive radiation is an evolutionary process in which diversification is appearing among a species, and it starts to fill in different ecological niches.Use scientific language to describe two ways that fossils and embryos are alike.
Answer:
Similarities in structure among distantly related species are analogous if they evolved independently in similar environments. They provide good evidence for natural selection. Examples of evidence from embryology which supports common ancestry include the tail and gill slits present in all early vertebrate embryos

Viral reproduction in a host cell
A skunk living in the northern part of the United States is exposed to extreme cold and food shortages during the long winter months. Based on the climate, what do you predict the skunk's innate response to these environmental factors will be?
Increase cellular respiration and ATP production
Estivate with a period of dormancy until the warmer weather arrives
Migrate to regions of warmer weather
Slow down its metabolic rate and lower its body temperature
Answer:
Viral reproduction in a host cell.
Slow down its metabolic rate and lower its body temperature
Explanation:
Viral reproduction in a host cell is not associated with the physiological mechanism regulated by timing. The viral reproduction occurs in the host cell whenever the virus enters the host cell. The virus attaches itself to a host cell and injects its genetic material into it. For reproduction, virus use resources of the host cell to make more viruses and spreads in the neighboring cells. This reproduction does not depend on the specific time, it occurs when it penetrates in the host cell. Skunk slow down its metabolic rate and lower its body temperature when there is extreme cold and food shortages during the long winter months
