What does what does c6h12o6+6o2→6co2+6h2o+energy equal to?

Answers

Answer 1

Answer: c6h12o6+6o2→6co2+6h2o= C6H12O6 + 6O2 -> 6CO2 + 6H2O Yields 2755 kJ/mole of glucose. The reverse of this reaction – combing carbon dioxide and water to make sugar is known as photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is the process responsible for storing all the energy we extract from fossil fuels, crops, and all of our food. We will also see that it is part of a globally important cycle affected by our consumption of fossil fuels. Photosynthesis How is photosynthesis able to run the reaction above in the reverse direction? Somehow it must come up with 2755 kJ of energy to make each mole of glucose. Where does that energy come from? The short answer: photons of sunlight. The long answer: When the pigment chlorophyll inside the chloroplasts of a photosynthetic organism (phytoplankton, trees, other plants) absorbs sunlight, it becomes energetically ‘excited’ and grabs the hydrogen atoms away from a water molecule, leaving the oxygen atoms to escape as O2 gas. This is called ‘splitting water.’ The hydrogen atoms are then split into their component protons and electrons. The electrons are used to reduce carbon dioxide, in a series of many steps requiring more absorption of sunlight by chlorophyll, to glucose. When carbon dioxide receives those electrons, the extra negative charge attracts protons from elsewhere, creating hydrogen atoms attached to the carbon atom. This process is called reduction. When those reduced carbon dioxide molecules are combined together in a larger molecule, the result is glucose. This ‘combing together’ of small molecules requires an input of energy, which is provided by the ATP molecules made by the protons diffusing through the membrane of the chloroplast. The ATP molecule is simply a molecule that biology uses to store energy for later use. In this case, the mechanical energy created by the protons diffusing across the membrane turns a sort of molecular turbine that smashes together its precursors.

Calculate the pH during the titration of 20.00 mL of 0.1000 M HNO2(aq) with 0.1000 M KOH(aq) after 13.27 mL of the base have been added. Ka of nitrous acid = 7.1 x 10-4.

Answers

Answer:

pH = 2.462.

Explanation:

Hello there!

In this case, according to the reaction between nitrous acid and potassium hydroxide:

[tex]HNO_2+KOH\rightarrow KNO_2+H_2O[/tex]

It is possible to compute the moles of each reactant given their concentrations and volumes:

[tex]n_{HNO_2}=0.02000L*0.1000mol/L=2.000x10^{-3}mol\\\\n_{KOH}=0.1000mol/L*0.01327L=1.327x10^{-3}mol[/tex]

Thus, the resulting moles of nitrous acid after the reaction are:

[tex]n_{HNO_2}=2.000x10^{-3}mol-1.327x10^{-3}mol=6.73x10^{-4}mol[/tex]

So the resulting concentration considering the final volume (20.00mL+13.27mL) is:

[tex][HNO_2]=\frac{6.73x10^{-4}mol}{0.01327L+0.02000L} =0.02023M[/tex]

In such a way, we can write the ionization of this weak acid to obtain:

[tex]HNO_2+H_2O\rightleftharpoons NO_2^-+H_3O^+[/tex]

So we can set up its equilibrium expression to obtain x as the concentration of H3O+:

[tex]Ka=\frac{[NO_2^-][H_3O^+]}{[HNO_2]}\\\\7.1x10^{-4}=\frac{x^2}{0.02023M-x}[/tex]

Next, by solving for the two roots of x, we get:

[tex]x_1=-0.004161M\\\\x_2=0.003451M[/tex]

Whereas the correct value is 0.003451 M. Finally, we compute the resulting pH:

[tex]pH=-log(0.003451)\\\\pH=2.462[/tex]

H₂O is initially present in a state where its molecules are far apart. During a change of state, its molecules slow down. Which change of state has most likely taken place?

from a gas to a liquid

from a liquid to a gas

from a solid to a liquid

from a gas to a plasma

Explanation:

Water can exists in three states: as gaseous water vapor, as liquid water, and as solid ice. Each of these states of water can be interconverted from one to another by the addition or removal of heat in a process known as change of state.

Liquid water can be converted to solid ice by the removal of heat, while solid ice ice can be converted to liquid water by the addition of heat. Also, liquid water can be converted to water vapor by the addition of heat, while water vapor can be converted to liquid water by the removal of heat.

Of the three states of water, the one in which the molecules are farthest apart is in the gaseous state. The molecules have high kinetic energy and move randomly while colliding with one another. When a heat is removed from these highly energetic molecules, the molecules slow down and lose some of their kinetic energy and a change of  occurs from gaseous to liquid state.

Therefore, the change of state that occurred as described, is from gas to liquid.

If you produce 10 g of water in the reaction from 20 g of O2 what is your percent yield? 2H2+O2>2H2O

Answers

Answer:

44.4%

Explanation:

The balanced chemical equation for the reaction is:

2 H₂(g) + O₂(g) → 2 H₂O(g)

According to the equation, 1 mol of O₂ produces 2 moles of water (H₂O). We convert the moles to grams by using the molecular weight (Mw) of each compound:

Mw(O₂) = 2 x 16 g/mol O = 32 g/mol

mass O₂ = 1 mol x 32 g/mol = 32 g O₂

Mw(H₂O) = (2 x 1 g/mol H) + 16 g/mol O = 18 g/mol

mass H₂O = 2 mol x 18 g/mol = 36 g H₂O

Thus, from 32 grams of O₂, 36 g of H₂O are produced (stoichiometric ratio= 36 g H₂O/32 g O₂). We calculate the amount of H₂O that would be produced from 20 grams of O₂ by multiplying the stoichiometric ratio by the mass of O₂, as follows:

36 g H₂O/32 g O₂ x 20 g O₂ = 22.5 g H₂O

The theoretical yield of H₂O is 22.5 g, and the actual amount produced is 10 g. So, we calculate the percent yield as follows:

Percent yield = actual yield/ theoretical yield x 100

                      = (10 g)/(22.5 g) x 100

                      = 44.4%

De la reacción 3Zn+ 2H2PO4----> Zn3(PO4)2 +2H2 por cada 9 moles de zinc cuantos moles de fosfato de zinc se producen

Answers

Answer:

Zn: 3 moles H₂PO₄: 2 moleZn₃(PO₄)₂:1 mole H₂: 2 moles

This equation is a double replacement equation, which means that since Na and Cl and paired, Ca and CO3 will be paired.

Then, you look at the charge of each element and balance

Ca has a 2+ charge

CO3 has a 2- charge

The 2+ charge and the 2- charge will cancel so there is no need for a  subscript or to balance the equation

The complete equation will be Na2CO3 (aq) + CaCl2(aq) -> NaCl (aq) + CaCO3 (s)
