Read the following excerpt from the article "Vision, Voice and the Power of Creation: An Author Speaks Out," by T. A. Barron, and answer the question that follows:
Yet deeper than character, or even place, is another concept: voice. More than any other doorway to the imagination, I find this one the trickiest to open—and the hardest to close. For a character's true voice is heard, its tones, cadences, and ideas are long remembered.
The ancients [people from ancient history] used anima, in fact, to describe breath as well as soul. That is wholly appropriate, for in the breath—the voice—of a character lies its essential spirit. If the writer can truly hear the voice of a character, so will the reader.
Which phrase explicitly states the author's attitude about voice?
It is the trickiest door to open.
The ancients invented it.
Only the writer hears it.
The reader will always hear it.
Answer: It is the trickiest door to open.
Explanation:
We can infer from the text that the author here believes that the voice of a character is very challenging to hear from the phrase about it being the trickiest door to open and the hardest to close. This is therefore the author's opinion about voice.
The second option could not be the answer because they used anima not voice. The third and fourth options are incorrect as well because the writer can hear the voice but the reader does not always hear the voice as they only hear it if the writer does.

Explanation: So the first one to the mayor is assertive, concerned and polite. The second for the Local Newspaper is demanding, persuasive and logical. And the third for the uncle is just the very last one.
Hope this helps!
- Mary
Answer:
Assertive, Concerned, and polite - Mayor
Logical, demanding, and persuasive - Local Newspaper
Emotional, Honest, and Open - Uncle
Explanation:
Martin needs to show that he is concerned, he needs to show that he's onto something, but he needs to be polite about it to the mayor.
Martin needs to think logically to gain peoples attention and not sound ridiculous, he must be demanding to gain the mayors attention to let him know that this is a pressing matter, and he needs to persuade the mayor to do something about it.
To your uncle, you must have a lot of emotion and you should be honest with him, it would keep his mind open and he will think about it more. Being open about the situation would also make him realize that you're right and he will be more willing to do what you ask.

But then the mayor decided if he were to find the witch who did this they would allow him to come back so His journey was set out but little did that boy know the witch was using a spell that turned herself into the mayor so he set out through town because that’s where the witch would be found. After hours and hours he was sure something would happen but out of nowhere a rock comes flying in the back of his head knocking him out. He then wakes up where the old lady used to live. He was so shocked to see that the old lady was the witch all along. And she killed the mayor that’s why she looked like and talked like him.
