Answer 1

Answer:

hope it helps

Explanation:

Sandra was a 25-year-old soldier hospitalized for sudden changes in behavior and episodes of apparently poor memory. She was confused about her recent history and believed that she was in a different hospital located 800 miles from the place where she had in fact been admitted. The diagnoses initially considered included schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, antisocial personality disorder, and substance abuse. She was started on neuroleptics (tranquilizers) with little benefit.

I NEED HELP ASAP!!!!!!! After reading "A Rose for Emily" describe how this short story is reflective of Modernist literature?

Answers

Answer:

The story reveals modernist traits in its temporal experimentation, symbolization of the departure from the Old South and the move towards modernity, and the questionable sexuality surrounding its characters. modernist literature.

Explanation:

Tension between the modern and the old, specifically, the Old South, pervades "A Rose for Emily" from beginning to end.

From the very first scene in the story, Miss Emily's house, which once was on an upper-class street, is now surrounded with "modern" industrial buildings, warehouses, and Miss Emily's house looks like a decayed structure whose prime has long since departed.

Modernism comes into the story with a vengeance when a deputation of the town government arrives at Miss Emily's house to tell her that she needs to pay her taxes.  Unfortunately for the modern part of the town, the Old South raises its head (in the form of Miss Emily) and tells them Miss Emily has no taxes--that they had been remitted permanently by Colonel Sartoris years ago.  This very modern attempt fails utterly to defeat the Old South.

Later, when Miss Emily buys rat poison, ostensibly to get rid of "rats," the pharmacist tells her that (modern) laws require him to know why she is asking for poison, she simply looks him in the eye, and she wins another war between modernism and the Old South.

During the only incident in which Miss Emily actually does something "modern"--allowing herself to be courted not only by a blue-collar worker but a Yankee--the townspeople adopt very Old South attitudes and actually try to bring in relatives to talk some sense into Miss Emily in order to get her to act like the  aristocratic southern lady that she still is.  This also fails completely, another defeat, but this time the conflict is flipped on its side, with Miss Emily fighting to be modern, and the town trying to keep the Old South alive.

The town, in essence, represents to forces of modernism in conflict with the Old South, and Miss Emily, most of whose actions are relentlessly Old South, defeats the forces of modernism until her death.

Read "I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud" and answer the question.

[1] I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
[5] Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
[10] Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
[15] A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed—and gazed—but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
[20] In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

As you may already know, an institution is a social organization that seeks to bring together people with the same social, economic and political characteristics and to promote improvements or support to their lives and activities while maintaining a system of rules that govern the behavior of members.

There are many benefits to participating in an institution that go beyond the political and economic assistance provided there. These benefits are related to socialization, as these institutions promote the meeting of people who can make friends with each other and discover beneficial and productive social interactions.

However, there are also harms, mainly related to controlling the behavior of members of the institution. This can lead to the individual's loss of individuality, suppressing what they may have that is innovative and interesting.

Plants are forced to adapt to their surroundings. In order to protect themselves from wind and cold, plants may also adapt by lowering themselves and moving closer to the earth. The following adaptations may be present in desert situations; they allow the plant to preserve food, energy, and water while still being able to reproduce successfully.

My Scattered Thoughts: Our Life.

"I fight, I drink, I smoke, I went to first grade for three years but still don't know how to write my name." What future can this man have? Or is there even future for him? What can a man like him possibly contribute to his family? But this man gave his family more than everything a family could ever ask for. He was not only a great son, but also a great brother, a great husband and a great dad. He gave me everything, including a great life.

At age one through seven, I lived in a house no larger than the size of an ordinary classroom. But we were still happy; there was my mom, my brother, and there was my dad. My dad was always busy with his business, so we rarely saw him. But he would always be there for us when we needed him. If my brother and I did something wrong, he would always be there to protect us from my mother's wooden whip. We would always get what we asked for.

At age seven, my father succeeded. He became one of the most successful businessman in our little island. He paid all the debt my grandparents owned. Even though he knew he might never get these money back; he loaned money to all relatives asking for help with no interest. But my mother was not there to share the success for long, she died soon after. My father didn't start a new family when he could have, but kept working hard to support my mother's family and us.

Age eight we were sent to a school with great reputation. But the school didn't live up to its reputation; there were sex, smoking, drinking, and fighting- even teacher got injured.

Age thirteen, we emigrated to America pursuing education. The first stop was Pennsylvania, then New York, then we finally settled down in Virginia. My dad rent an house there for us, then he had to go back to China. Though life was not easy in this new country, we made it. I met some great people there.

Age sixteen, we were on the move again, this time the destination was New Jersey. Again, a new house, he had to go.

Age seventeen, I went to (school name).

Now, I'm a senior now. I will graduate from (school name).

Where will I be next year, I do not know.

Some might not see a great future for the children who were constantly on the move and lived on their own. They might thought they would stray off somewhere on the line. But I see a great future lies ahead of me if I'm willing to work hard for it, though, I would not say we never stray off somewhere on the line. There were times I got tired, and gave up pursuing the knowledge we longed for, but nevertheless, I got back on the track and made pretty far with my education. Even though my dad was rarely with us, he would always be an important part of our life. My ambitious goal is if not as great as him but to surpass him.
