(Keep in mind that i am not the best at math) My teacher said "Who wants to tell us what they god for *insert math problem*" and so i raised my hand as the confident kid i am and told my answer. everyone looked at me with the most confused faces ever. My teacher trying to be nice says "Okay well lets see what other people got and then well check the work!" Another kid raised his hand and told his answer. His answer was at least 10,000 off from my answer. Actually i think it was like 100,000 cause i think my answer was 678 and his was 678,000. Anyways my teacher started going through the steps and stuff and when it was done we realized that i was wrong and my WHOLE CLASS was right. Essay Task
Write a cohesive, logical essay in which you evaluate multiple perspectives on housing costs and affordable
housing. In your essay, be sure to:
• examine and assess the perspectives given
declare and explain your own perspective on the issue
• discuss the relationship between your perspective and those given
Your perspective may be in full or partial agreement, or in total disagreement, with any of the others.
Whatever the case, support your ideas with logical reasoning and detailed, persuasive examples.
Housing Costs
As the global population increases, the subject of affordable housing becomes an ever-greater concern for
many, Governments have taken a variety of approaches to tackling this issue, which have met with equally
various levels of success when it comes to ensuring access to reasonably priced homes. Some have
housing specifically for lower-income individuals, while others have chosen to implement voucher systems or
impose rent controls. Given the growing population around the world - all of whom need housing - it is
worthwhile to explore the implications of housing costs and what, if any, approach should be taken to make
affordable options available for everyone.
Read and carefully consider these perspectives. Each suggests a particular way of thinking about housing costs and
their affordability
Perspective One: A lack of affordable housing is almost always directly related to stagnating wages. While the
cost of living increases year after year, earnings do not keep up. As a result, the best way to make housing more
affordable is to find ways to increase pay.
Perspective Two: Finding ways to build smaller, more efficient, and more economical houses and apartments
can manage housing costs. Using innovation to drive down the costs of building and maintaining dwellings will
make it easier for people to find and secure affordable living situations.
Perspective Three: Housing costs are simply a product of a functioning free market. Like any commodity or
resource, the cost of buying or renting varies based on supply and demand. There will always be areas that have
cheaper housing and areas that are more expensive.
Plan and Write Your Essay
Consider the following as you compose your essay:
What are the strengths and weaknesses of the three perspectives provided?
• Identify the insights they present and what they fail to consider
• Ascertain why a given perspective might persuade or fail to persuade.
How can you apply your own experience, knowledge, and values?
• Express your perspective on the issue, identifying the perspective's strengths and weaknesses.
• Formulate a plan to support your perspective in your essay.

Answers

The issue of reasonable lodging is a subject of incredible worry as the worldwide populace increments. I will evaluate each perspective in this essay.

What is Perspective in this Essay?

Perspective One contends that stagnant wages are directly linked to a lack of affordable housing. Therefore, the most effective strategy for making housing more affordable is to raise pay. The viewpoint emphasizes the necessity of addressing the problem of affordable housing at its source, which is inadequate wages. However, it fails to take into account other factors that influence housing costs, such as the cost of construction and upkeep. Additionally, this point of view makes the assumption that wage increases are always possible, which may not be the case in all circumstances.

Building smaller, more cost-effective, and efficient houses and apartments, according to Perspective 2, may assist in cost control. The point of view emphasizes the necessity of ingenuity to reduce the cost of building and maintaining homes.

In the novel, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Myrtle Wilson demonstrates how members of the lower class cannot achieve the American Dream. Myrtle, a working-class citizen, associates herself with the wealthy in order to appear rich. During her apartment party, Myrtle changes into a party dress and, “with the influence of the dress her personality had also undergone a change. The intense vitality that had been so remarkable in the garage was converted to impressive hauteur…until she seemed to be revolving on a noisy, creaking pivot through the smoky air” (Fitzgerald 39-40). Myrtle strives to be someone she is not by changing into an outfit she thinks implies she is wealthy. She tries to be rich by dressing the part, but the poor side of Myrtle still lurks within her, as displayed through the term, “smoky air.” “Smoky air” relates to the Valley of Ashes, yet at this point in the novel, Myrtle is in New York. By revealing that the “smoky air” of the Valley of Ashes follows Myrtle to New York, a wealthier location, Fitzgerald demonstrates how simply associating with the wealthy is not enough for Myrtle to actually obtain the American Dream. Her attempt to transcend class structures ultimately leads to her death, which reveals that the working class cannot grasp the American Dream.

Which was a Buddhist theocracy run by the Dalai Lama before it wasseized by China? 1. Hong Kong2. Taiwan3. Tibet Becky moved off of the porch slowly, backing through the door and into the house. She slammed the sliding glass door shut and stood for a moment, relieved to have something solid between her and the snake on the porch. The glass was cool under her hands despite her pounding heart. She tried to slow her breathing. She was safe, at last, inside. Or was she? How had that snake gotten into the screened-in and walled-up back porch. If it could get in there, it's possible it could get inside where she was as well.Becky wasn't someone who was normally skittish about wild things. She'd handled snakes before, picked up lizards many times, caught frogs in the garage and let them go. But snakes seemed to always catch her off guard. They would turn up when least expected. She would see them out of the corner of her eye and just the surprise of it would make her jump; her adrenalin would pump, her heart would thump, and her panic would take over. What was she going to do? She couldn't just stand there waiting for the snake to decide to leave. What if it were venomous? It didn't look like a viper, but it could be. She would need to get out there soon to water the plants."What this requires is some advanced planning," she said out loud to her cat, Louie. "And, I will probably have to go 'once more into the fray' kitty," she said, looking in the cat's direction for emphasis."First things first, though," she said. The cat meowed back. It often did that, having become used to being talked to. "Let's look that fellow up," Becky said walking to her bookshelf."Let's see, snakes," she said, thumbing through her reptile and amphibian identification book. "It's brown and gray, with some black. With a pattern that looks ... there it is," she said thumping the page so hard that Louie jumped. "Not venomous," she said, triumphantly."It's an oak snake, Louie," she returned the book and strode over to her closet. "Not venomous, but I am still not taking chances," she said. She reached into the closet and pulled out her heaviest jacket. It was lined and stuffed thick with lots of padding. Then she found her mittens and a pair of rubber boots. She knew even non-venomous snakes would sometimes threaten to strike when scared. "And that threat would work on me," Becky said aloud again, though Louie had no idea what she was talking about."It's 90 degrees outside, Louie," she said, "so get the iced lemonade ready for when I return."It wasn't much of a plan, but it was the best she could come up with. With her armor on, she was already sweating when she slowly pushed open the sliding glass door and stepped back on to the porch. She was pretty sure the snake would slither away from her presence. She propped open the outside door, and hoped she could shoo the snake in that direction.Sweat dampened her arms and collected on her face. She spread her arms out, and took a few steps toward the snake. There was so much for it to hide beneath. Becky regretted the rocking chairs and all the plant stands between where the snake was in the corner and the door to the outside. At first it seemed like the snake was just going to remain where it was, flicking its tongue every now and then. Becky waved her arms, lunged in its direction, and stomped her feet. It sat there, coiled in the corner, as if perfectly happy to remain there. In a fit of desperation, she picked up one side of the rocking chair the snake was under and let it drop. The snake jumped, raised its head like it was going to strike, and then stayed right where it was."Snake," Becky said, "This is not how it works. You have got to go." The snake moved its head back and forth, swaying a bit, and that gave Becky an idea. She had read somewhere that snakes can "hear" thanks to the ability to process vibrations through the bone in their jaw. This awareness of vibrations in the ground was one reason it was very hard to sneak up on snakes. She quickly realized that getting the snake out was going to be a lot easier than she had thought.Becky turned on the radio she kept on the porch and lowered it to the ground, pointing in the snake's direction. She adjusted the controls so that the bass was as high as it could go. Then, she cranked up the volume. She envisioned the snake swaying to the sounds of "Dancing Queen," by Abba, and then leaving the porch and going far, far away.Coming back into the house, she began peeling off the now damp armaments she had put on earlier. "Louie, there is more than one way to skin a snake," she said laughing. She watched as the snake uncoiled and moved cautiously in the direction of the door. Bending down to pick up Louie, Becky sighed and stroked his head. "'Cause no one ever wants to skin a cat, sweetie."Review the narrative "Snake Story" and answer the question below:How does Louie the cat help develop the character of Becky?
