Please record your daily experiences of forgetting for 5 days. Please incorporate every appropriate detail possible so the reader has a full understanding of your forgetting experience, and (2) analyze each forgetting experience using unit terminology. Your explanation must include a reference to point 1 above, as well as thoroughly explain memory terminology. It is not enough only mentioning a unit term; the term and experience must be comprehensively explained. (3) Please make sure you tag any important terms of the unit by bold-facing.

Answers

Answer 1

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Unfortunately, you do not include the terms of the unit you studied, to tag important terms you study in class. Only you know that.

What we can do to help you is to comment on the following terms so you can adapt this information to your needs.

My forgetting experience was that I could not remember where I left a note with an important phone number that my dad needed. It was a number to call a client to follow up with a possible purchase. So it was very important for my dad.

The memory terminology that I can use is that the Hermann Ebbinghaus forgetting curve. This psychologist studied the relationship between forgetting and time. He came up with a curve revealing the relationship between these two factors.

So what I did was to try to remember the time of the day when I took that note and the place where I was. I now know that the more time passes by, the more difficult it is to remember.

So I did follow the sequence of my activities from that last clear memory to the present time, and that is how I could come up with the solution and remember the place where I kept the note.

There are some other theories that help to explain why you forget. We are talking about the Decay Theory of Forgetting, the Retrieval Failure Theory, or the Interference Theory.

Critical thinking requires people to analyze their assumptions. Which of the following examples of beliefs illustrates that the speaker's assumption has not been analyzed?
A. "How can you be a professor of psychology if you don't know the basics of the subject?"
B. "What do you mean you don't know why I'm getting these headaches-you're a doctor, so find the problem and fix it!"
C. "Men are less emotional than women-it is part of a man's basic nature to be logical rather than emotional."
D. "I don't want to see that movie-my roommate said that it was so boring she left the theater before it ended."

Answers

Answer:

C. "Men are less emotional than women-it is part of a man's basic nature to be logical rather than emotional."

Explanation:

The sentence selected above is a conclusion constructed without any precedent. The speaker of the sentence has no justification for concluding this and does not present any supporting details that show that he had some reasoning and analysis of premises to arrive at this resolution. In other words, we can say that the sentence above was not spoken by someone who dominates critical thinking, but was spoken by a thought that creates conclusions through guesswork and random beliefs.

I belonged to a Muslim community in Delhi. The area of Delhi is highly populated and there are very few Muslims in my area. The high density of Hindus has influenced Muslims. The Muslims had no mosque to pray in my area. I was young and had written letters to many officials for the mosque building but there was no response.

Explanation:

I then started gathering the money from the people who lived in my society and I dedicated a room in my house for prayers as a mosque. The Muslims then came to my house and performed religious beliefs. The people were really happy that they have got a place to worship freely. Since many people used to come in the room daily the room was small for such religious offerings. My one of neighbor who was Hindus also asked us to have a room in their house for prayers.

true or false, first amendment rules don't apply to private companies.

Answers

Answer: True

=================================================

Explanation:

The first amendment prohibits congress from making any law to prohibit free speech, so that means the federal government isn't allowed to restrict speech. However, there are exceptions such as speech to cause a riot, insurrection, obscenities on public airwaves, etc. all of which are not allowed.

In contrast, a private company like Twitter has the choice whether or not to allow or ban a certain post. The first amendment of the constitution does not apply to companies such as this one. On one hand, you could argue that such restriction is a bad thing because it limits speech; but you could also argue that if the government forced companies like Twitter to do a certain action, then it restricts their freedom.

For privately owned social media companies, their platform is something they solely own 100%, meaning that the government does not own or control what goes on that platform. So this is another viewpoint as to why the first amendment doesn't apply to these companies.

In a slight bit of confusing terminology, a private company can be publicly owned. This means that the government doesn't control the company, but rather it's traded on the stock market. Those who own stock in the company are part owners of it. You would have to use the phrasing "government owned and government run" to indicate that the government has full control of such a platform.

What is considered one of Athens Greece's most notable contributions to society that is still evident today
A. the birth of democracy
B. the rise of dictators
C. the development of equal rights for men and women
D. the beginning of free market economy

Answers

Answer:

A. the birth of democracy

Explanation:

The political organization known as democracy has its roots in the ancient greek city-state of Athens. It developed there, somewhere around the 6th century BC, and prevailed for two centuries.

The term democracy comes from the word demos, which referred to the citizens. This is because it was the citizens who had the right to vote and decide on various political questions. All who could participate had the equal right to discuss and state their ideas, and their votes had an equal effect.

However, not everyone was considered to be a citizen. In fact, only adult free males who were not foreigners had the right to vote. This strictly excluded women and slaves who were not considered to be politically adept.
