Where in the world?

The world is a beautiful place, isn't it? There's oceans, mountains, plains and even beautiful forests! Out of all the options, where would you go? To japan with a lot of anime stores and anime themed places or Alaska where it’s very cold but you could live in an igloo? This question is quite hard to answer because your mind floods with ideas, right? Well, I have to say same because Japan seems awesome but also the Uk stands out or Ireland! But because for my love of hammerhead sharks and yes this is a bit cliché, I chose Monterey California. This magical place provides many scenic views and places to take your family and have a good time.

A Good place

I was attracted to this place because of Monterey Bay Aquarium. They have a wide variety of things to offer but what caught my eye was hammerhead sharks! They also offer sea turtles, stingrays, sharks, jellyfish and schools of fish. With 45 interactive exhibits that include reptiles, octopi, birds, fish and invertebrates! Though it is a bit costly you defiantly would get your money's worth. Not only is there an amazing aquarium but there are also a variety of places to eat and many more things to do there.

Cool Houses?

Wouldn’t you like to be in an entire neighborhood filled with mystic looking houses!? Well sadly you can't live in them but you can take a self-guided audio tour and learn all about the history of Carmel-by-the-Sea's Fairytale houses. These houses are rich in history. C'mon man I want to live in these really cool houses!

! Other attractions!

Yes, there’s definitely more like a Denis The Menace park! There is also a lovely tavern called Melville Tavern. There are many sites to see like the Lone Cypress and caves to explore. There are many amazing places to see and just be with your family and that’s exactly why I want to go.

Conclusion

In conclusion, if I could go anywhere, I would want it to be a place where my family could follow, where we all could do things, we enjoy and I do believe that this place is exactly that place. It offers many things for everyone of all ages to enjoy and that is what makes this place very lovely.

Having an open fire is an enjoyable part of many camping experiences. The smell of woodsmoke and the pop and hiss of burning wood in a campfire brightens any night out in the woods, in the mountains, or on the beach. But make sure that you control your fire, and not the other way around!

Before starting your fire, know the local rules. Each park has its own rules about where and when you can have a campfire. Ask at the visitor center or contact the park before you visit, so you know any relevant rules.

Read the excerpt from The Odyssey.

Six benches were left empty in every ship
that evening when we pulled away from death.
And this new grief we bore with us to sea:
our precious lives we had, but not our friends.
No ship made sail next day until some shipmate
had raised a cry, three times, for each poor ghost
unfleshed by the Cicones on that field.

Which key details should be included in a paraphrase of this passage? Check all that apply.

A shipmate cried out three times for each life lost.
Six men from each ship lost their lives at Cicones.
The ships pulled away from shore during the evening.
The men were greatly saddened by the loss of their friends.

Answer:

C. To narrate an incident using description and humor.

Explanation:

In the given passage, the narrator talks about the 'agreement' she had with her mother. The mother had promised to buy any candies that the narrator gets from school, which is the basis of how she (the narrator) gets the money.

And in the mother's statement that she wouldn't "have to buy Halloween candy that year" shows the hilarious side of the whole event. Moreover, the narrator also used descriptive imagery when mentioning the types of candies she got from the school, "three pixie sticks . . . one roll of smarties . . . three peppermints . . . a lollypop . . . one tootsie roll". These details give us more insight into the things/ candies acquired by the narrator.

Thus, the correct answer is option C.

I KNOW THAT THIS IS A LOT TO READ BUT PLEASE HELP
Read John Muir's "Calypso Borealis" and answer the question.

[1] After earning a few dollars working on my brother-in law's farm near Portage [Wisconsin], I set off on the first of my long lonely excursions, botanising in glorious freedom around the Great Lakes and wandering through innumerable tamarac and arbor-vitae swamps, and forests of maple, basswood, ash, elm, balsam, fir, pine, spruce, hemlock, rejoicing in their bound wealth and strength and beauty, climbing the trees, revelling in their flowers and fruit like bees in beds of goldenrods, glorying in the fresh cool beauty and charm of the bog and meadow heathworts, grasses, carices, ferns, mosses, liverworts displayed in boundless profusion.

[2] The rarest and most beautiful of the flowering plants I discovered on this first grand excursion was Calypso borealis (the Hider of the North). I had been fording streams more and more difficult to cross and wading bogs and swamps that seemed more and more extensive and more difficult to force one's way through. Entering one of these great tamarac and arbor-vitae swamps one morning, holding a general though very crooked course by compass, struggling through tangled drooping branches and over and under broad heaps of fallen trees, I began to fear that I would not be able to reach dry ground before dark, and therefore would have to pass the night in the swamp and began, faint and hungry, to plan a nest of branches on one of the largest trees or windfalls like a monkey's nest, or eagle's, or Indian's in the flooded forests of the Orinoco described by Humboldt.

[3] But when the sun was getting low and everything seemed most bewildering and discouraging, I found beautiful Calypso on the mossy bank of a stream, growing not in the ground but on a bed of yellow mosses in which its small white bulb had found a soft nest and from which its one leaf and one flower sprung. The flower was white and made the impression of the utmost simple purity like a snowflower. No other bloom was near it, for the bog a short distance below the surface was still frozen, and the water was ice cold. It seemed the most spiritual of all the flower people I had ever met. I sat down beside it and fairly cried for joy.

[4] It seems wonderful that so frail and lovely a plant has such power over human hearts. This Calypso meeting happened some forty-five years ago, and it was more memorable and impressive than any of my meetings with human beings excepting, perhaps, Emerson and one or two others. When I was leaving the University, Professor J.D. Butler said, "John, I would like to know what becomes of you, and I wish you would write me, say once a year, so I may keep you in sight." I wrote to the Professor, telling him about this meeting with Calypso, and he sent the letter to an Eastern newspaper [The Boston Recorder] with some comments of his own. These, as far as I know, were the first of my words that appeared in print.

[5] How long I sat beside Calypso I don't know. Hunger and weariness vanished, and only after the sun was low in the west I splashed on through the swamp, strong and exhilarated as if never more to feel any mortal care. At length I saw maple woods on a hill and found a log house. I was gladly received. "Where ha ye come fra? The swamp, that awfu' swamp. What were ye doin' there?" etc. "Mony a puir body has been lost in that muckle, cauld, dreary bog and never been found." When I told her I had entered it in search of plants and had been in it all day, she wondered how plants could draw me to these awful places, and said, "It's god's mercy ye ever got out."

[6] Oftentimes I had to sleep without blankets, and sometimes without supper, but usually I had no great difficulty in finding a loaf of bread here and there at the houses of the farmer settlers in the widely scattered clearings. With one of these large backwoods loaves I was able to wander many a long wild fertile mile in the forests and bogs, free as the winds, gathering plants, and glorying in God's abounding inexhaustible spiritual beauty bread. Storms, thunderclouds, winds in the woods—were welcomed as friends.

is filled with countless opportunities to discover rare plants
needs to be conquered and controlled by human exploration
offers many unique challenges for the mind, body, and spirit

The step that should be the first in analyzing a speech is to Identify the main argument. Hence, option C is correct.

What are steps of analyzing a speech?

The first step in analyzing a speech should be to identify the main argument or thesis of the speech. This involves determining the speaker's primary message or purpose for giving the speech.

Understanding the main argument will help the listener or reader to better comprehend the content of the speech and to evaluate the effectiveness of the speaker's arguments and supporting evidence.

Once the main argument has been identified, the listener or reader can then proceed to examine the use of evidence, language, rhetorical devices, and any personal biases or assumptions that may be present in the speech.

These additional steps can help to provide a more nuanced and comprehensive analysis of the speech, but they should be undertaken after the main argument has been established.
