1st-Scale and proportion are very accurate, ships get smaller the further away and rocks lose detail further away, and waves/water has more detail close and less further away.

2nd- The scale and proportion seem a little off, the taxi would look larger if it were really that close to the couple, but the building seem ok

3rd- The boat feels like it could not pass under the bridge, and the buildings get shorter too fast, they would be taller that distance from the first.

1st Balance- asymmetrical to the right, but the rocks and boats help to balance it out.

2nd- asymmetrical to the right, the large building the fills the right half of the canvas along with the people weigh it to the right.

In 1990 American playwright Douglas Larche premiered Angels in the Snow: The Berlin Wall Musical Drama. The play tells the story of two couples, a minister and his wife and a young engaged couple, who are separated from one another when the wall goes up overnight. The couples struggle for 28 years to be reunited. As you read the information below about the Berlin Wall, think about what those years might have been like. Then answer the question that follows. In the aftermath of World War II, Germany was divided in two — East Germany (under Communist rule) and West Germany (a free, democratic republic). As communism failed to meet people’s needs, more and more refugees began fleeing from East Germany to the west. In the first seven months of 1961 alone, more than 160,000 refugees were counted. East Germany denied plans to build a wall to stop the flood of people. Early in the morning of Sunday, August 13, 1961, however, under the direction of Erich Honecker, the East Germans began to block off East Germany from West Germany by means of barbed wire and antitank obstacles. Workers tore up streets and made barricades from paving stones. Tanks gathered at crucial places. Subway and railway service ceased. Thousands of people from both sides were separated from their homes and families. In the days that followed, East German construction brigades replaced the temporary barriers with a solid wall. The resulting barrier was over 103 miles in length, with more than 66 of those miles being solid wall. Houses near the wall were evacuated, and people approaching the wall were shot. As the world changed, the benefits of freedom and democracy as well as the failings of communism became increasingly evident. In 1989 a massive group of East Germans escaped through Hungary; there were large demonstrations of unrest in Leipzig each Monday. Communist resolve was crumbling, and on November 9, 1989, at about 7:00 P.M., the leader of East Berlin’s Communist Party, Günter Schabowski, suggested that the border be opened for “private trips abroad.” East Berliners rushed to the Brandenburg Gate and West Berliners to the Kurfürstendamm to celebrate. On November 10, demolition work began to create new border crossings. Two days later, the Potsdamer Platz checkpoint was opened. On December 22, a checkpoint for pedestrians opened at the Brandenburg Gate. “Wall woodpeckers” began hammering out pieces of wall to be sold as souvenirs, and a few larger segments were officially donated or sold. On July 1, 1990, East and West Germany were reunited, and all travel restrictions were dropped. By 1991 the Wall had almost completely vanished. On August 13, 1998, a memorial consisting of about 76 yards of the remaining Berlin Wall was dedicated at Bernauer Street. When Douglas Larche was named playwright-in-residence at the University of Wisconsin-Marinette, his musical about the Berlin Wall was presented as a way to formally introduce him to the public.
