Name 3 features of underground water and explain one of them in detail

Answers

Answer 1

Some of the most typical characteristics of groundwater are weak turbidity, a constant temperature and chemical composition and almost overall absence of oxygen. Circulating groundwater can have extreme variation in the composition with the appearance of pollutants and various contaminants.

Answer 2

Answer:

The geological nature of the soil determines the groundwater's chemical composition. Water is continuously in touch with the soil in which it stagnates or circulates and so the composition of the soil develops in a balance with the water which circulates within a sandy or granite substratum which is acidic and has a few minerals.

Explanation:

The low turbidity, constant temperature, and chemical composition, and nearly overall absence of oxygen are some of the most characteristic features of groundwater. Groundwater circulation with the appearance of pollutants and various pollutants may have extreme variations in the composition. In addition, microbiologically, floodwaters are often very pure.

Movement:-

Groundwater is in continuous movements, although the rates of movement are generally slower than in a stream because it needs to cross the complex passages between rocks' free spaces. Due to the pulling of weight, the first groundwater is descending. But it can also go up, as it flows from higher pressures to lower pressures.

Discharges and velocity:-

Depending on the rock permeability and the hydraulic gradient, the rates at which groundwater moves through the saturated area. The hydraulic gradient is the height difference divided by the distance from the water table between two points.

Springs and wells:-

Spring is an area on the earth's surface, where the water table crosses the surface and water flows from the earth. Springs occur when a waterproof rock (known as an aquiclude) crosses a permeable rock containing groundwater (an aquifer). Springs occur closely linked to the geology of an area.

A well is a human-made hole that has been excavated or boiled deep enough to cross the water table. The water fills the open space to the water table level and can be pulled out by the bucket or pumping if it was dug under the water table.

A right pyramid on a base 10m square is 15m high . find the volume of the pyramid by the use of similar triangle.

Answers

Answer:

500 m³

Explanation:

Given that :

Base, b is a square measured at 10 m

Height, h = 15 m

The volume of a pyramid = 1/3 * b² * h

Plugging the values :

Volume = 1/3 * 10² * 15

Volume = 10² * 5

Volume = 100 * 5

Volume = 500 m³

Which order is correct from the space to Earth?

Answers

Answer:

Troposphere, Mesosphere, Stratosphere, Thermosphere, Exosphere.

Explanation:

The atmosphere is divided into five layers. It is thickest near the surface and thins out with height until it eventually merges with space.

The troposphere is the first layer above the surface and contains half of the Earth's atmosphere. Weather occurs in this layer.

Many jet aircrafts fly in the stratosphere because it is very stable. Also, the ozone layer absorbs harmful rays from the Sun.

Meteors or rock fragments burn up in the mesosphere.

The thermosphere is a layer with auroras. It is also where the space shuttle orbits.

The atmosphere merges into space in the extremely thin exosphere. This is the upper limit of our atmosphere.

Answers

Answer:

An air mass forms when air stays over an area for a while or moves slowly over a area  - true.

Air masses that form over over land are moist - false.

Air masses that form over tropical regions are warm. - true.

Polar air masses that form over warm regions.-  false.

A warm air mass that forms over the Caribbean Sea is a maritime tropical air mass- True.

Air masses that form over dry land are tropical air masses. - False.

Explanation:

We can say that air masses are large volumes of air that have homogeneous and relatively stable temperature, pressure and humidity and that move slowly over a region, influencing weather conditions for a certain period of time. They can form in large volumes of water or land. When the air mass forms on land it is quite dry, however the air mass that forms in water is quite moist.

Tropical air masses are those that form in intermediate latitude regions, close to the equator and therefore are warmer, have high temperatures and low pressure, unlike polar air masses that form in high latitude regions , near the poles. A hot air mass that we can mention is the one that forms in the Caribbean Sea, which is a tropical maritime air mass.

The alpine biome is characterized by short, slow-growing plants and warm-blooded
animals. Though it is widespread in Europe and Central Asia, the alpine biome exists
along the equator in only a few small areas in South Arherica. The alpine biome is
rare along the equator because —

Answers

Answer:

b). only regions with extremely high altitudes can have the required climate there because of the high temperatures near the equator.

Explanation:

As per the question, the key reason for the alpine biome being scarce down the equator is the 'higher temperatures in the equatorial and nearby regions.' Alpine biomes are majorly found in the regions having higher altitudes(around 10,000 feet) like mountain regions which provide adequate climatic conditions for their survival while the equatorial regions fail to provide it. Thus, such plants are not found commonly across warm areas because such high temperatures are directly opposite to the conditions required for such biome to survive. Hence, option b is the correct answer.

Why do you think Canada has such an abundance of
natural resources?

Answers

Answer:

Canada exports a large proportion of its mineral production, the mining industry is sensitive to world price fluctuations.

Nobody has ever lived in 80% of Canada. The country’s land remains mostly unexplored. Canada is bigger than the entirety of Europe.

There are areas where there isn’t a road for hundreds of kilometers. The First People live mostly around the edges, and the Europeans mostly live within a hundred kilometers of the American border.

So, the resources are untapped because nobody is there to tap them

Explanation:

From 1990 to 2009, Canada's natural resource wealth, on average, grew by 6% per year. Our abundance of natural resources—such as timber, potash, uranium, oil and gas, and gold—as well as increasing demand for natural resource commodities worldwide are among the factors that have contributed to this growth.

according to this map which states have a population of fewer than two million residents

Answers

Explanation:The correct answers are:

- Wyoming; 579,315

- Idaho; 1.717 million

- New Hampshire; 1.343 million

There are not many states in the United States of America that have populations that are bellow 2 million, and it is kind of strange that a state has such a low population. The likes of Wyoming (with 579,315 inhabitants), Idaho (1.717 million inhabitants), and New Hampshire (with 1.343 million inhabitants) are one of the very few that have such low populations on their territory. The reasons are multiple, and some of them are the extremely high standard of living, the bad natural conditions, and the size of the states.

doctors important role

Answers

Hopes this helps:

Answer: Doctors save lives, but their importance goes far beyond that. Doctors also make a difference by helping patients minimize pain, recover from a disease faster or learn to live with a disabling injury. A patient's ability to enjoy life, even if they can't be cured, makes a huge difference to them and to their families. If they can go back to work after an illness, that benefits their employer, too. And, that's only part of what makes doctors important to society.

[?] cm2

Answers

Answer:

106 cm³

Explanation:

A prism is a 3-dimensional shape with two identical shapes known as bases facing each other. A triangular prism is a prism with two identical triangles facing each other as well as having three rectangles.

Area of rectangle 1 = 7 cm * 5 cm = 35 cm²

Area of rectangle 2 = 7 cm * 5 cm = 35 cm²

Area of rectangle 3 = 7 cm * 3 cm = 21 cm²

Area of each triangle = 1/2 * 5 cm * 3 cm = 7.5 cm²

Surface area of prism = 2 * area of triangle + Area of rectangle 1 + Area of rectangle 2 + Area of rectangle 3

Surface area of prism = 2(7.5) + 35 + 35 + 21 = 106 cm³
