Answer 1

Answer:

I remember that my relationship with my family and especially my brothers have always been so difficult that I got to think that we could never hold a relationship after I could become independent and just leave them behind. I love all of them, including both of my brothers, despite their constant teasing. Family issues, mostly related to financial problems, used to frequently get in the way of us having a good relationship. We used to fight a lot. To be honest, we still do.

The kid that used to bully me in kindergarten had three older brothers and came from a very violent family. I hated him, but at the same time, I often found myself feeling sorry for him. All of his brothers would taunt him, and it seemed as he was hiding his anger by bullying his classmates, including me.

Explanation:

Nevertheless, whenever he needed his brothers' help, they were always there for him. Either to help him with his homework, or punch a boy he couldn´t fight by himself, he always had his brothers' support.

I imagine it may be difficult for only children to understand the kind of brotherly relationship that includes both devoted love and the most ruthless hatred. But my personal experience allows me to better understand the relationship between brothers.

My own experience has made me understand that my bully and I share the same kind of relationship with our siblings. We are more similar than I would like to admit. We probably shared the desire to run away. Or to find a way to build a better relationship with our families.

Maybe, had we had the chance to have an honest talk, we could even have been friends. Maybe we both lost an opportunity there.

Still, thinking about this experience gives me a better understanding of human nature and social relationships.

Dear Mr. Gomez.

My name is Mary Bean and I’m Head Girl at Mackenz High School. I recently paid a visit to your pods agency to inquire about a travel package for the group of Seniors, who want to go to Angra. It was reported that because of the pandemic, it would be more beneficial if I wrote a letter directly to you to ask the questions I need.

I would like to know the activities that the package offers, remembering that our class is formed by 30 teenagers and we would like to get stimulating activities for our age. I would also like you to inform me about the price, the accommodations, the availability of dates and the possible documents needed to sign the package.

I thank you in advance for your time and availability to read my letter and respond to my requirements.

When sadness first touched one Joy would try deperatly to change them back for "Riley's sake", and did everything in her power to prevent any more from changing. Eventually, Joy had to make the decision of alowing the other emotions to touch them and change them. The stakes there for her were mainly when she had to decide to alow the other emotions to change the core memory's feeling. They were internal because, Joy truely felt that the core memories needed to be happy ones, and nothing but that, and that's one of her biggest struggles (internally that is), Joy wanted to keep Riley happy!

In a similar case, Evangelina has asked for an extension to finish the project she's been given. With the word "not finished", we can know that the extension is related to the unfinished project.

Have you experienced participating in an actual competition in the past?

Yes, I have.

What was the competition all  about?

It was a volleyball championship. I was in middle school when I competed.

Did your team win or lose the game?

My team only lost one game. We won the championship.

What do you think was  your team's strategy for winning the game?

We were respectful toward one another. Even though we made mistakes, we did our best to keep everyone encouraged and motivated throughout the championship. We also remained focused, trying our best to ignore the sounds coming from the audience - although that was difficult. We paid close attention to our coach's instructions and changed whatever we needed to in our play.

What is the history of Palestine?

Palestine has been ruled by a variety of peoples over the course of history, including the Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Fatimids, Seljuk Turks, Crusaders, Egyptians, and Mamelukes. The Ottoman Empire dominated most of the area from about 1517 to 1917.

Robert Holczer lived in Germany, Hungary, Israel, and the United States, and was a Holocaust survivor and educator. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum's special collections in Washington, DC, contain items honoring Holczer's Holocaust survival.

The Canaanite region, which included the Kingdoms of Israel and Judah, included Palestine in antiquity. Originally, the term "Palestine" referred to a region of southern Canaan that the so-called "Philistines" inhabited to a very small extent.

Thus, the ideal selection is option B.

- Students once copied long lists of proverbs. They memorized them.

8. Look for proverbs online, the library has dictionaries of proverbs.

- Look for proverbs online. The library has dictionaries of proverbs.

Explanation:

To answer the first exercise, all we need to do is look for the verb that agrees with the subject and that, and the same time, makes sense with the general context. For instance, if we had answered "A proverb contain simple and colorful language," we would have been wrong due to lack of subject-verb agreement (proverb is singular, but contain is plural).

As for the second activity, we need to correct run-on sentences, which are sentences where two independent clauses were joined incorrectly. For numbers 5 and 6, the sentences received a coordinating conjunction, which transformed them into compound sentences. Numbers 7 and 8 were punctuated in a way that separated the different clauses.
