The Leaning Tower of Pisa is a famous building in Italy. The Tower is famous because it tilts to one side. The tower began to tilt during its construction in the 1200’s. In the following decades, the tilt only got worse. The builders of the tower came up with different ideas to explain this. In the end, they surmised that the ground the tower sat on was too soft. And they did things to try to correct this. For example, they built upper floors with one side taller than the other. (Because of this, the tower is actually curved.) Although tilted, the tower still exists today. In fact, it is a major tourist attraction. Modern builders have done things to make sure the tower continues to lean, but does not fall down. Their efforts have been successful. Between 1990 and 2001, the tower leaned at an angle of 5.5 degrees. But the tower now leans at about 3.99 degrees. In 2008, construction workers performed more work on the tower. They removed 77 tons of ground to try to make the tower more level. They say the tower will now be stable for the next 200 years

write a letter to the editor of national newspaper expressing four reason why wearing school uniform should not be abolished

Answers

Answer: Here are a few reasons one could use to argue in favor of not abolishing school uniforms...

Schools who use uniforms are typically private schools and therefore it is an institution that has the right to make its own policies and guidelines. Parents who pay money to send their child to a school where uniforms are mandatory is a choice and a right that should not be taken away. Abolishing the right to choose is unAmerican and hypocritical of those who argue it hinders a student's self expression and identity. In America school choice needs to be upheld and supported. This would Infringe upon an institution's right to have their student body wear uniforms as well an individuals right to have the option of attending a school requiring uniforms or the opposite.

School uniforms serve a purpose just uniforms serve multiple purposes for sports teams, for the military, police officers, nursing staff, etc. Why do colleges and Universities have apparel with the school's colors, mascot, or logo? They provide them because many student's like representing their school and feeling unified with other students and alumni.

Other reasons include the following:

1.) A sense of unity and being part of a team.

2.) Improves equality for students regardless of different financial and economic backgrounds.

3.) Can be used to easily identify who is a student versus a non-student.

4.) Competition is an important and healthy motivator for a student body, but not when it comes to choosing your wardrobe for the school week. It is a wasteful use of time and energy which could be better spent focused on learning and developing ones own gifts and talents.

5.) It may be a financial benefit for students whose parents cannot afford purchasing a wide variety of clothing.

6.) Some people enjoy the style and the feeling of wearing a school uniform and do not wish to see it abolished. If a student does not wish to wear a uniform they have the option to choose a school with a different dress code.

Why is it important for anti-racist resources and training should be mandatory in places of employment, schools and post secondary education? How does this contribute to having a growth mindset in ALL of our relationships (work, family, partner, etc.)?"

Be sure to respond in ways that are:
- Respectful
- Thoughtful
- Complete and Insightful
- More than just ONE WORD ANSWERS ("Yes - resources are important" OR "No. It is not important"

Answers

Answer: These resources are important, for several reasons, the first of which being that it can help stifle subconscious whispers of racism in people's minds, which can come from their surroundings and affect them without them even being conscious of it. Anti-racist resources would help people to actively combat it, and make sure that they are staying on the right track, and being entirely fair.

It contributes to having a growth mindset by stopping to ask oneself, "Is what I'm doing fair/acceptable?" and leading them to be able to be introspective more often, for growth and success.
