What are Bjork desirable difficulties?

Desirable difficulties, which include things like varying learning conditions, interleaving instruction, spaced practice, and testing, activate encoding and retrieval processes that support learning.

The concept of desirable difficulties describes the idea that in order for students to learn best, they require tasks that challenge them to the appropriate degree.

Interleaving is a method of studying in which students mix or interleave multiple subjects or topics in order to improve their learning. Blocked practice, on the other hand, entails thoroughly studying one topic before moving on to another.

Dr. Bjork's experiment found that studying in different rooms improved memory.

Should the school day be lengthened? Write an argumentative essay

Answers

This should be way more than 5 points but I’ll write a paragraph for you because I feel bad. “No the school day shouldn’t be lengthened. Children already attend school on average 7 hours a day and 5 days a week not including extracurricular activities like tutoring. On top of this children come home most days with homework. This requires even more usage of their brain for more school work. This averages out to about 40+ hours of school a week for the average student including extracurriculars and homework. Adding more to this risks a child’s mental health. Schooling is very helpful to the new knowledge of children but over working them is never good. Adding more to the school day would give kids a bigger case load than many adults job hours. This is simply threatening to a young persons mind.” Your welcome
Sorry this is so late...
The school day should not be lengthened. Although the school day has attempted to last as long as possible, in order to cram as much information into students as the teachers can, more information at once can actually be redundant rather than helpful. In addition the overworking of students is already a problem, and it would drastically worsen if we were to lengthen the school day. Plus, homework already exists in a fashion that many students still do schoolwork even after school has ended— meaning they already do more work per day than is technically counted. Memorization works best in slow progress, with information being given over periods of time. Attempting to stuff as much as possible into a single school day will result in confusion and frustration for both students and teachers, as well as a decline in mental health of already worrisome teens due to lack of sleep, overworking, and too many hours spent studying. Students, on average, already have a school day which leaves them with just a few hours of free time; and most of this free time is taken up by “necessary” things like homework, eating, chores, and sleeping, meaning that the time given to students to do things they enjoy and relax is extremely limited as is. Lengthening the day would only worsen this. Not to mention teens should be getting many hours of sleep which is currently restricted by school, with many teens not getting enough sleep because of how early they have to wake up and how little time they have in the remaining day— this isn’t even factoring in time spent studying at night. All of this combined means that, with school as it currently is, teens are being deprived of sleep and are placed in unhealthy conditions while being expected to do more work than they get credit for (and the teachers, on the opposite end, being expected to teach and grade more than they get credit for). With so many problems already present, lengthening the school day would do nothing more than harm the mental well-being of students and staff, as well as depriving them of sleep and lowering their ability to learn.

What is proofreading?
A. Rereading your first drafts for global revisions
B. Checking your final draft for typos and bad grammar
C. Proving that your research on the topic is correct
D. Fine-tuning your sentences to make them stronger

Answers

It’s b but I can see you already have the answer

Answer: B) Checking your final draft for typos and bad grammar

Explanation: In the past, proofreaders would place corrections or proofreading marks along the margins. In modern publishing, material is generally provided in electronic form, traditional typesetting is no longer used and thus (in general) this kind of transcription no longer occurs. Consequently the part played by pure proofreaders in the process has almost vanished: the role has been absorbed into copy editing to such an extent that their names have become interchangeable .Modern copy-editors may check layout alongside their traditional checks on grammar, punctuation and readability.
